My best friend and I spent 4 days here and loved every single second of it. The house was spotless, kitchen very well stocked, and that leather sofa in the living room facing the sound was everything we needed to catch up, knit, bird watch, and just reflect. It’s a lovely vacation home, but it is fairly rural so there are very few restaurants near by without going back into Edenton. Still…we came armed with groceries and an excellent bottle of bourbon. It was perfect.

What a great place with a beautiful view of the River. Everything was clean and Melissa was a great host with great communication. Thank you again to her and we will be back.

Our stay with Stephen was hassle-free and the apartment was spotless. We loved the decor touches in the apartment that gave us sneak peeks of Edenton and its history. The location was great; we were never too far from anything, and were never disturbed by traffic or neighborhood goings on. We felt Stephen’s space gave us a perfect launch and landing pad. The living area was comfy and a great place to unwind after exploring as well as to plan our next outing. We had access to enough appliances/amenities to take care of ourselves if we wanted to spend a night in, as well. Overall, a great place to stay.

Me and my family keep going back for a reason. This place is perfect for a get away and has all the newest appliances and Electronics. Very peaceful and very spacious. Definitely worth the money!

I went for a retirement party on Friday 03/28/25 just for the night. And I stay at Gabriel’s place. It was clean and very nice . The house is beautiful just what we needed for a night of sleep. Thanks for hosting us. And if we need a place just for a getaway we’ll rent your home again. So, if anyone looking for a getaway home, this’s the place.

The surroundings were peaceful and quiet. We felt as if we had the world to ourselves. We used the lodge as a "Basecamp" for 3 days of fishing on the Roanoke River. There are 2 NC Wildlife boat ramps just minutes away. We met our host at check-in and she gave us a wonderful tour and brief history of the lodge. She made us feel very welcome and shared local information including restaurants and food stores. We enjoyed a quiet walk each morning surrounded by the sound of turkeys, geese, and cardinals. If you want to get away from the noise, this is the place! We're already making plans to return next year.

Another 5 star review!! Shelby and James are very responsive, caring and helpful! Their home is beautiful, it was delightful to wake up in the morning and look at the beautiful Chowan river through the blinds, it was the first thing we did upon waking to remind ourselves of the paradise we were in. My wife and i really enjoyed our stay. More so my wife since she lived in nature her entire life and recently relocated to NYC to live with me, and it has taken a toll on her health. We didn’t want to leave. NC is such a beautiful state and their home was so quiet and peaceful. Follow the directions they give you to make sure you get there, turn left on the mailboxes. Their place was PERFECT for me and my wife. If you like nature this place is for you. Edenton is a 20 min drive, very nice, lots of history and they have tours so make sure you plan accordingly. Outer Banks (OBX) was amazing! An hr and 40 away. Lots to do. Thank you Shelby and James 🥹❤️
