We enjoyed ourselves with all the Oriyamake had to offer. Hideyuki-San was a very gracious host and creatively curated the entire experience for us. It was very enriching, having fun and learning about Matagi culture.

I wanted a rural and rustic winter experience in Akita and this place delivered everything I'd hoped for. It is a gorgeous and secluded spot that's a good bit away from everything but not too far. Nozomi and his family were kind and gracious hosts. I was sad to leave.

Highly recommended! This is a Gem and best airbnb I stayed at. A big traditional house with a Japanese garden and in a very reasonable price you get a very private room and a balcony facing the garden- Great value! The room is big with a garden view balcony, kettle ( high quality tea and coffee) and drinking water. The hosts Mr and Mrs Teisuke are beautiful people- very kind and hospitable. they communicate in english and always ready to help. They shared the house history and are interesting to chat with. Needless to say that the house and shared area as bathroom and kitchen were extremely clean and fresh. The location is 12-13 min flat walk from the train station with a Shinkansen line that takes to Tokyo and a 40 min ride to Kakunodate samurai edo town , the lake and other places worth visiting in the area. I would love to stay here again in the future. Akita city was a surprise for me - lots of art, vegan food, nice architecture and street food( vegan too). Thank you!

It was a really good and relaxing stay, the place is really authentic and peaceful and Akio is a great host, always responsive and helpful. Would definitely recommend

It was an ideal place to experience a quiet and relaxing rural life. It was exciting to pick up edible wild plants and wild vegetables with the host in the nearby mountains. Tasted fresh and wonderful plants, herbs and vegetables that were picked up on the same day. The host is very caring and gentle, with so much out door experiences from which I learned a lot. Would definitely consider coming again and also recommend to anyone who likes peaceful country life!

Thank you very much. The host is very nice and hospitally. The house is clean and with super modern design. We had very wonderful time in this house. And the dog and cat also cute, my son likes them so much.
