We did have a bit of trouble finding the place. Once we got there, the host was actually on a trip and left someone as a stand-in so there was a bit of a mix-up on our reservation, but even on her trip the host tried her best to keep in contact. That’s why I give five stars.

The place was everything it promised! The room is beautiful and so comfortable (and a very nice bathroom). I enjoyed sitting in the chair by the window looking out over the frozen lake. The surroundings are very peaceful. Susan is a great host. The house is clean, tidy, welcoming and beautifully decorated. She has a great eye for detail. She gave me a lot of advice on things to do and helped me make plans for my activities. And her breakfasts are wonderful too! It is an absolute lovely place to stay. Thank you, Susan.

Great place to crash for a night between Denali and Fairbanks!

This was the perfect place to stay for the night! Very clean and comfortable, and the hot tub was fantastic!

Great no frills lodge. Good place to spend your night and take a shower if you plan to visit Denali NP. Very close to a good brewery.

It was a beautiful place to stay, and we loved having breakfast there! Susan was a wonderful hostess. The lake is amazing, and we were blessed with a beautiful day to enjoy it. It was very peaceful and full of fun things to do. We enjoyed the paddleboards and kayaks immensely! Thank you for a fun end-of-summer trip!

The Knotty Pine Inn is a beautiful lodge. The shared kitchen is wonderfully equipped and the grounds are very peaceful. The extra cost for the hot tub and sauna were well worth it. Thanks Moses!

Basic accommodation but very clean and comfy. Close to the entrance to Denali National Park and a lot of opportunities for eating out around. Overall a very nice place to stay 👍🏼

This place was a perfect stop on our Alaskan road trip down to Anchorage from Fairbanks. Ellyn and Casey were great hosts, everything as described and easy to locate / manage.

This location was beyond beautiful! I loved the setting, you really can’t beat the view! And I also liked that they are located before the footbridge, it was great to be able to drive up and unload all our gear just right at the cabin, but then also to just hop in the car and go park by the footbridge to get to the shuttles. You could easily walk to the footbridge, too, but I had four kids with me so we drove. The host was really kind and everything about our stay was great!

McCarthy is a hidden treasure. The Kennicott River's lodge is exactly like shown on the pictures. Cabins are located close to the Glacier View. The 2nd floor/main house apartment with balcony has an breathtaking view over the valley and glacier, we have never seen anything like this. McCarthy is great to unplug your wires, recharge, enjoy nature and wildlife, experience the local vibe of historic old toqn village life. The potato house is an amazing restaurant, great food, delicious. Plan a budget to take one of the 50/70/90 or 120 min flights offered by Wrangell Mountain Air, the best flight I have ever had in my entire life, over the largest glaciers in the region and next to Mt. Blackburn, a 5k (meters) mountain. i hope to come back one day, I am in love with this place. Thanks so much Nik and McCarthy!!

We have been traveling around the whole state of Alaska for 2 months and this was absolutely the most wonderful place we’ve stayed. The accommodations were super comfortable, the food very delicious, and the host absolutely amazing! Sheryl is a neat lady, and so so very kind and welcoming. The area is breathtaking and full of wildlife. Sherol’s place is right on the lake with a nice little patio area right on the water! The fish were swimming right along the beach just feet from the sand and jumping all day long!! We are SO glad we chose this place…we will be coming back in the future 😊👍❤️.

Quirky & Fun Decor! Lots of history in this location built between the old highway and new highway. Chris is a great host. She makes a big breakfast. So be ready for a big breakfast before you start the day. I would recommend this for everyone to stop in and stay the night.

The lodge is great and Jenny is an even better host. We’re having our wedding here in August and feel very confident it’ll be what we’re hoping for.

Chris was a great hostess. The one with the mostest. I spent a LOT of time talking to her on her porch. Also met her son and friend. And Art Too! Her knowledge of Alaska is immense. Hearing her story gave me lore about Alaska that I wasn’t going to get from guide books. I knew where I wanted to go, but she really gave me, a Hoosier, a real sense of place. Coopers Landing was beautiful, Gwin's has a great atmosphere, and Keith's cabin was the perfect place to stay while there. Would definitely stay again!

Chris and her family were so warm and welcoming. I felt like I was spending the night at my family's house! The room was beautifully decorated and we had a great breakfast the next morning. I would recommend stopping by to my family, friends and strangers!

Beautifully kept property in a great location for our road trip. Chris (and her dog, Paul) were great hosts!

The owner is a gem of knowledge and history of his locale. The bar on site is a must see!
