Beautiful modern home with huge windows and sliding doors that make you feel like your outdoors, and excellent indoor/outdoor flow. It was great staying here with kids and having them play outside on the nice lawn. The neighbours have goats that you can feed, which was a fun activity to do each day. We loved having the pup, Cookie, come to visit. She is quite boistrous (at time of writing) which is something to be mindful of you have smaller children. There was no aircon, but huge doors and windows create excellent airflow, and the whole place is double glazed. we loved our stay here and would recommend it as a comfortable and convenient place to stay.

location: peaceful, beautiful private and quiet. really, a perfect spot. house: big, clean, comfortable, well equipped. you cannot ask for more. the host: easy to communicate with. very responsive. local info. overall great. would stay here again if we are around in Cromwell.

Photos don’t do the view justice. Jeremy was a great host. This is a cabin type experience. We stayed in the winter and used the cottage as a home base for skiing and other activities which was great. Quick ride over to Arrowtown and Queenstown but far away enough to feel private and peaceful. Some important points regarding previous reviews I read about the place being “cold”…the ground floor is all slate stone…as Jeremy recommended, just bring some sandals or slippers to wear around. There is a large heat pump, a lovely pot belly stove, and space heaters and all the beds have blanket heaters which we actually didn’t use because they were too hot…so it’s easy to stay warm and the view and coziness are well worth it, but if you’re expecting a thermostat in a hotel room that you set and leave…this wouldn’t be the place for you. We loved our stay and the host was very responsive.

We had a great time staying here. Wonderful location and overall one of the best stays for this trip. It does get warm during the day with the afternoon sun and no AC, but nights did cool down to a comfortable temp. The river area is beautiful and 100% recommend a tasting (or two!) and their sparkling wine varieties. Will definitely be back. Thanks !

Lovely modern well designed house. The views are amazing and probably better than how it appears in the listing. We were there summer so afternoon dips in the lake right across the road were wonderful. The window seat with bi- fold windows was a great feature and a perfect place to relax and read. Full kitchen and of course handy to so many vineyards for lovely lunches. A great Sunday farmers market just a short walk. The house is across the road from the bike/ walking track around the lake/ rivers for walking adventures. Would recommend highly and will stay again. For wine lovers - Cromwell is great and peaceful - away from all the dreadful crowds in Queenstown- but still an easy hour drive there if you want to.

We have stayed here before, and will stay again, the best airbnb we have have been to. Don't want to praise it too much or it will be booked when we want to go again . just need to make sure there are no events on though ,as it was impossible to get into the eating places

Absolutely the most unforgettable experience! We love everything here— the woods, the cottage, the host, kitten and doggie. There are more than expected to do just in/around the woodhome. Our son loves taking a walk every morning, we can also watch the stars and had splendid BBQ. Catherine and Paul were so friendly to make everything right for us. The cottage is really a lifetime must visit place!

10/10 fully recommend staying here!! We couldn’t have wished for a better experience. It was everything we could’ve ever wished for. Sally was an amazing host, looked after us so well when we arrived and showed us everything we needed to know. We had eveything to ourselves. It is so private. We felt right at home and we were gutted to leave the next day! We throughly enjoyed being in nature. It was very picturesque. We used the kayaks provided. We made burgers on the bbq. We sat around the fire in the evening and made s’mores. The bed was so comfy! It felt like we were in a perfect dream. We are booking to go back again in a few weeks with our friends. It is a magical place if you need to switch off and be away from a busy life. Thanks so much Sally & Sue! Xxx
