I wanted to be in the countryside of Ireland for a months and hosted various family members throughout the month. Tara’s place was perfect for my needs. Very homey, plenty of room to be together or spread out. The views of the countryside as well as Galway Bay were outstanding, better even than the published pictures.

Aine was the perfect host. Nothing was too much trouble, always asking if i needed anything, if i wanted my washing doing, all sorts. And when i was under the weather, Aine checked in on me and offered to fetch me anything if needed. I highly recommend as a place to stay. My bed was really comfortable, with great pillows. I had use of the kitchen and lounges. I had a private bathroom which was just next door with a bath and shower. Just perfect. Thank you Aine. I look forward to next time 😊

The house was in a great location, well maintained, and the host was extremely responsive and helpful. The power happened to go out during a storm and they kindly sent over some food to make sure we had what we needed. Lovely place and the Aran Islands were beautiful to visit!

We had an amazing stay at this property! The house was incredibly spacious, beautifully designed, and had everything we could possibly need for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. The stunning water views and the peaceful, private setting made it feel like our own little retreat. It’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature while still having all the modern conveniences. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a serene stay.

I couldn’t recommend this place enough. We came as a large family group so was amazing to have everyone together , yet each room had its own shower and toilet so it never felt crowded. The house was the cleanest air BnB I’ve stayed at. Wonderful location , plenty of parking , stones throw to cafe pubs etc . We really enjoyed the outdoor area . And the house also had everything you could possibly need in a house .

We had a fantastic two-night stay in this idyllic location. I would highly recommend it to anyone. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

This was a fantastic little find, and Marie was ruper helpful after my previous accomoodation was badly affected by the storm. Marie was very friendly, very helpful and took time to ensure I was settled and showed me some hidden gems in the local area. I will definitely be back

great family place to stay in Galway. we had the necessary amenities, enough space and a great location. easy to get to Dublin's airport and supermarkets.

Superb stay. Sad to leave. Such a beautiful spot and Rory was an amazing host. The place exceeded all (very high) expectations. The sauna was a mega bonus after rainy exploring and hiking. We dropped into Rory’s Powers Thatch Pub for supper and the food was sublime, the setting cosy and the company unbeatable. Highly recommend. Thanks so much Rory.

Ive been to many airbnbs in several countries over the years and Helen’s hideaway is my favorite ! We simply couldn’t believe our luck to get to be in such a beautiful, peaceful, cozy place. Helen’s hospitality was incomparable. We hope we can come back one day!

This is a very nice authentic cabin! And having the hot tub beside made the stay even more special. The wood burning stove inside of a hut, the hot tubs stove and the fireplace in the evening made us feel cosy. Great lighting at night. And of course the greatest smell of the burning wood takes you back to ancient times. Recommend!

Every amenity was in excellent condition, from the fully equipped kitchen to the cosy living spaces that were perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Irene, the house manager, was an absolute joy to communicate with. Always prompt and accommodating, she ensured that our stay was seamless and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a secluded escape to truly appreciate the rugged charm of Connemara, Hawthorn House is an exceptional choice. We left feeling refreshed and connected to the beauty of Ireland’s west. Highly recommended!

Carmel was an extremely welcoming and helpful host. She had everything ready before we checked-in from firewood to snacks and additional amenities. Carmel gave us a tour of the area, gave us a background about how they built the staycation, and gave us some recommendations on where to eat. The stay was extremely unique and private. The area felt safe for all ages. We had a lovely stay and would gladly come back!

We loved our stay. The place was so cosy with really comfortable beds and lovely underfloor heating. The location was fabulous, it felt completely remote and yet it was a five minute drive to a lovely town that had a large Supervalue and a lovely bakery. We explored lots of places such as the Cliffs of Moher and Lahinch which were both close by. So light and airy inside with beautiful colours that reflected the landscape, a very interesting array of books as well. Our favourite part was the barrel hot tub where you can look up at the stars at night (there are so many because of the lack of light pollution in the area). Definitely check this place out!

Our stay at Dorothy's place was nothing short of magical! From the moment we arrived, Dorothy's warmth, humor, and genuine care made us feel right at home. She truly is the most wonderful host you could ever wish for. The house is beautifully decorated, with thoughtful touches and plenty of information about the local area. Dorothy was always available to offer invaluable advice on where to eat, explore, and even save money. Her recommendations were spot on and made our trip even more special. The location is perfect, with a stunning lake just a short walk away. Thanks to Dorothy's provided equipment, we enjoyed kayaking and taking in the serene views. The hot tub was another highlight—spacious, impeccably maintained, and absolutely enchanting at night with the fairy lights twinkling around us. Outdoor space's perfect for alfresco dining, and the presence of the donkeys and two friendly dogs added an extra layer of charm to our stay. It truly felt like a slice of haven on earth. 10/10
