Beautiful views with great location. Secluded but close to town

We LOVED OUR STAY! Helen's house was PERFECT! Clean, peaceful, beautiful, everything you need and much more! The outside amenities were our favorite part! We saw many deer and the view was absolutely incredible from all angles of the home. Helen was quick to respond, friendly, and the location was perfect! We would stay again in a heartbeat! This home was perfect in every way for us! Thank you so much Helen!

Sweet guest cottage in the mountains. Theme decor is very welcoming and comfortable. Gives rustic chic vibes. Feels spacious. Sofa bed linens and mattress pad made for a v comfortable place to sleep. Two bathrooms and ample hot water and towels. Up a steep hill, choose the one minute longer route up Possum vs Sunset road and it is not as twisty and steep. Probably not a walk to town kind of place due to the hillside perch but close enough that you wont mind the quick drive. We saw deer, bunnies and a bear in the neighborhood. Thoughtful host, lots of nice little touches (S'MORES!!!!).

This place was so cute! You can tell a lot of thought and time went into setting it up. I was amazed by how well the space was set up-square footage it wasn't a lot but all the rooms felt so spacious, especially the kitchen! Mary was an amazing host-extremely responsive and helpful. Was quick on giving recommendations, which was helpful since its a small town. We really loved this place and if we find ourselves back up in the area, I know I'll definitely try to stay here again!

This location is perfect if you will be spending most of your time outside and exploring the area. It was 5 minutes from hiking and downtown blowing rock. 15-30 minutes from two different ski slopes and a picturesque scene. However if you plan on being in the house a significant amount, I would recommend only sleeping 6. With the pullout sofa in the main area, there is not much space for 8 people to hang out together. The dining area and game room felt very crowded. We also had an issue with bedding for the sleeper sofa as well as towels for the 7-8th person (although the host was very responsive- it was a confusing process). Overall a great stay and for 6 or less people a no brainer- stay here you won’t regret it.

If you’re looking for a magical piece of paradise in the mountains this is your place. My fiancé and our two puppies stayed for the weekend. It was incredibly relaxing, quiet and the views are breathtaking. Nancy is so accommodating, responsive and kind. She has done such an amazing job making sure everything you could possibly need is available. A few of my favorite things about our stay: - Nancy greeting us up the hill and signaling where to park at the very late hour we arrived - Cozying up by the fireplace looking at the views - Meeting the goats on our morning walk - Full kitchen equipped with everything we needed to make meals - Comfy bed and a good nights rest - The Hangar (SO COOL!!) - The home design, big windows and a beautiful shower while looking at the mountains - ROBES! So many to choose from and so cute - The prepared puppy station, we did not use but really appreciated it. Thank you Nancy <3 we are excited to come back and make more memories.

Absolutely loved our stay at your home. The kitchen was well equipped with so much room and top notch appliances, truly an entertaining style kitchen where the cook can still be involved with the group. I must add how awesome the heated floors were in the bathrooms, and master bath’s luxurious set up includes a steam area. The home has two sitting areas, one with a grand wood fireplace and the other a gas lit fireplace. Also, to note, just down the road is a farm that includes a pickleball court and in-ground trampoline….along with adorable farm animals. Just a lovely stay. We snowboarded and skied just about every day . Thank you for sharing your home with my family!

Second time we've stayed here and loved it more than the first time! Very cozy and comfortable. The cottage has everything that you need, especially in the kitchen! The location is perfect, quick trip to Boone, Wilkesboro, Jefferson or any of the mountains in the high country! I travel to this area often and will stay here every time.

That was a truly amazing stay!! Everything is perfect - house, location, mountains, air.. House is quite big, cozy, comfortable, private and has its unique atmosphere. Some antique items like radio, record-player etc make this home really special. Beds are very comfortable, kitchen has everything you need even for a long stay. The house also has a gym room, sauna, so you can do your fitness routine even when traveling. Location is good - it's very private, and you have only few neighbor houses nearby. At the same time, it's not far from town - it's about 10min drive to Boone, and ~25min to Blowing Rock, where you can enjoy great restaurants and mountains views. Kristen is really great host, and she will make you feel like at home. We arrived at Xmas time during the snow season, so delivery services were not available for few days, so Kristen even delivered us some products for few days, which was really appreciated!! Generally everything was amazing, and we would love to come again!!

We had a wonderful family weekend at Lazy Y Farm. It was like stepping back in time and was so cozy and nostalgic. We enjoyed hiking and seeing ponies at Grayson Highland Park on Saturday, sitting around the fire pit, looking at stars, and telling ghost stories that evening, then biking the Virginia Creeper Trail Sunday. We were so glad that we went despite the recent hurricane and did not have any problems getting around and having lots of fun! James was so easy to contact and provided everything we needed! We were in the area for my son's baseball tournament and wanted somewhere other than a hotel to stay since we were traveling with a pet. This house was perfect. The house was spacious, pet friendly. I loved the covered porch and river front view. My son and dog enjoy fishing and playing in the river during out down time. We will definitely consider this listing again.

We stayed for close to 2 months with our 2 dogs. Great accommodations, surrounding land and area. Saw turkeys, deer, rabbits, various birds everyday. Woke up to birds chirping and sun shining. Wendy was great; very helpful and responsive with questions. Beautiful country oasis!

This property was beautiful & oh so peaceful. We’re already planning a big trip in the summer! (Also trying to get friends to get married here because 😍) The hosts were extremely responsive & helpful. Every time I book an Airbnb for a special occasion I always put in the booking comments what it’s for (this time being for my husband’s birthday) & this was the first time ever that the hosts actually acknowledged it, they left us birthday cake with a note for my husband! So sweet & thoughtful & absolutely made my husband’s day which made my day☺️ their WiFi is AMAZING…. Literally reaches across to the other side of the big pond! Seriously, this place is so whimsical (fairies most definitely live by the stream👀). Only disclaimers: 1. If you plan to spend your entire stay on the property OVER PACK FOOD & DRINKS 🤣 closest gas station according to google maps is 16mins away & said it’s a dry county outside of city limits🤦🏻‍♀️ 2. What a wonderful getaway destination! My friends and I absolutely loved our stay. Everything was absolutely amazing!

This was our 4th stay- and it was amazing as ever! It is such an off the grid location. We love every part of our annual visit! My Children have formed bonds with all of the animals and have had so many adventures on the property. We live in Florida near the ocean, so the kids love to free range on this mountain property. We had bonfires every night, chicken eggs, front porch coffees listening to the mountains, and we only leave during the day to day trip to fun local sights (closest stores are 35 minutes away). The cottage is so cute, clean, and set up nicely for a family. The front house is from 1807 and it is currently getting worked on and restored. We have watched this amazing progression over the years! It’s so fun to learn the history of this area. Jenn and Caleb are great hosts, they go above and beyond to make you feel at home, and I believe it is because this is their home they choose to share- and I’m glad they do. This really is a little slice of heaven- it has our hearts

This was our fourth year staying at Ron & Sharon’s cottage for our yearly trip to get a Christmas tree (shoutout to Mistletoe Meadows for yet another fantastic choose & cut experience). The cottage was clean, cozy, warm, and welcoming, just like it always is. Ron and Sharon are superb hosts. Communication with them is prompt and easy, and we’re completely comfortable with reaching out to them if we need help with anything. We can’t wait to come back again. In all honesty, we never want to leave.

Beautiful, felt at home. There was 9 of us and everyone was comfortable. The only thing that I would have liked was a bathroom upstairs but there is 2 full bathrooms downstairs.
