We had a wonderful stay at It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere. The house is beautiful and Brandon did a great job communicating and letting us know all about the place. Our kids loved the bunk bed! The kitchen is very nicely equipped. GPS directions can get a little tricky as you get close (or at least our car’s navigation system sent us a somewhat crazy way from Boone), but it is a wonderful location right next to Appalachian Ski Mountain. It is very easy I get to downtown Blowing Rock from the house, too! I wish we could stay longer. We definitely would rent it again!! Thank you!!

If you are looking for a private place to stay this is it. I did not take my boat this trip but if I had I would be extremely comfortable knowing it was safe. The mountains surrounding the house are beautiful. We rented a pontoon boat on Lake Watauga for the day (225.00) and really enjoyed it. Judson and Deanne were very friendly and made sure our stay was a success.

Very beautiful view, the nature is gorgeous! Quiet and beautiful! Away from people, alone with nature! I recommend for those who are tired of city life, here you will relax 100%. The hosts are incredibly caring, the house has everything you need, my family and I had a great rest, thank you!

We loved our stay! We were a group of 4 adults, 3 toddlers and 2 infants and just enjoyed time together in the house as it was quite cold and the lake was frozen over. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all the food we had brought, the rooms are lovely, and it worked great for us to have one family on the lower floor, the other family on the top floor/loft with all the communal spaces in the middle. The drive there is not for the faint of heart (lots of very steep roads) and we had sleet and hail for our drive up which added to the experience but our group were in Broncos and Jeeps so we ultimately did arrive no problem. Paul is a wonderful host and was 100% available for any questions we had, and he gives you crystal clear directions to get to the house. We would absolutely go back and would love to go in spring/summer to spend more time outside.

Had two of are six people come stay for one night, and loved it and may plan on booking a trip next year.

The location was just 15 minutes from amazing hiking at Grayson Highlands State Park. Our cabin was right along a beautiful river and we had amazing sunrises. On the property there was lots to do, including fishing, tetherball, frisbee golf, and an amazing arcade. The cabin itself was simple and clean and perfectly met our needs. Couldn’t have asked for more. Lovely stay and would come again.

We loved our stay in this house! It is right by the highway as others mentioned, but we honestly couldn't hear highway noise except when out on the deck. Our dog absolutely loved the backyard- it was a great size! I would absolutely stay here again!

Loved staying at Sommer & Benjamin’s cabin. It was the perfect weekend getaway for my little family. It was so relaxing. There were so many little touches that made the place even better. Everyone left happy, we hope to stay again! Thanks for EVERYTHING!

The house is such a gem!! It was perfect for our family of 9 for Thanksgiving. We could have never left the house our entire trip because the main level is so cozy and comfortable. There is plenty of games and puzzles to keep everyone entertained. My son loved the little nook area with the bean bag. There is plenty of space to spread out with the 3 different living room areas. If you want a good workout - go for a walk! The house is at a higher elevation in the neighborhood, so you will have to walk down and back up. We hiked to Laurel Falls - that was another workout! Be prepared to drive a little ways to the grocery store. We brought most of our groceries but needed a few things and the next town is 25-30 minutes away. (Of course, there is always Dollar General that is closer!) Not many places to eat out. The first night we went to the Trading Post and the food was good and the people were so friendly, we stopped back in on our way out to say goodbye!

Brian made the check in and check out process so easy for us. The cabin is clean, cozy, has amazing views and is only a 7 minute drive to the Blowing Rock restaurants and shops. We will definitely be staying here again!

The cabin was a great little hideaway! We did lose power and have to leave early, but I suppose that's part of the risk of a cabin in winter.

Chris's cabin and property are beautiful! We loved having the river right behind us to play in with our puppy. Everything with the cabin was great, comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen, plenty of wood for the firepit, charcoal for the grills, and an amazing view of the river and surroundings. Very private and very remote, I would strongly recommend having an SUV/all-wheel drive vehicle. We saw two black bears as we were driving back to the property which was fun to see (but glad they weren't any closer or on the property). Chris is very helpful with instructions for getting to the place, and was very responsive when we had questions. We definitely hope to go back and highly recommend this property!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hemlock Hill Cabin! The hosts were responsive and helpful. The location was great with lots of privacy, but also close to the main roads making getting to/from town very easy. Everything was as described & pictured and the interior was decorated very nicely. There were so many extras that we appreciated as vacation renters - a welcome gift, generous amount of hooks everywhere, nightlights, coffee/k-cups, towels for hot tub, jewelry dish/valets on the nightstands, sound machines, sleds for the kids, firewood, and so much more! Sometimes vacation rentals can feel "bare minimum" and you have to pack your whole house with you when you go. But not here! Many mountain cabins can feel cold and drafty but Hemlock Hill was so well-insulated that it stayed warm and cozy with heat set at 68 - not even something we can do in our own home. Again this translates to packing less stuff to remain comfortable! Loved our stay!!! Hope to return!
