If you want a true off the grid experience with amazing food and views, make your way out here. Everything that we could have hoped and wished for. We felt like family when we arrived and they were so kind and wonderful throughout. The tours they offer are amazing. Would absolutely stay again if given the chance.

Words will never do this place justice. Both the lodge itself and the surroundings are stunningly beautiful. The pictures give a slight impression, but the place must be experienced to really understand the beauty of this place. The cabins are placed up on a hill with an amazing view over the jungle and the ocean. Macaws are flying over you all day. Coatis, tapirs, agutis and monkeys cross the grounds and nature trails are plentiful. We did a trek into Corcovado through la Leona gateway which was well worth it. Way less crowded than la Sirena and the scenery is incredible. I also took some yoga classes while I was there. The yoga itself was great and the cherry on the top was 8 macaws settling into a tree right in front of the yoga platform during class. We were also really pampered with delicious food and smoothies. We got there by cab which took something like 1 h 45 m each way. On the way there the driver spotted loads of animals for us. I’m so grateful for the whole experience.

Henar’s cabina was perfect for my daughter and me. Spotlessly clean, good AC, comfortable beds, a fridge and coffee maker - and the perfect location for restaurants and groceries. A very quick walk to the beach where we took boats for tours. Henar is a really good (and nice) host in all respects.

Chez Carlos, nous avons été complètement plongés dans la nature, à vivre au rythme des magnifiques mangroves environnantes. Carlos est un hôte discret, très aimable et plein d'attention. Paola est une merveilleuse cuisinière qui nous a régalés de plats traditionnels pendant notre séjour. Carlos et Wilson nous ont emmenés traverser les mangroves en kayak, et nous ont accompagnés faire une très belle marche dans la jungle environnante. Nous avons adoré séjourner chez Carlos, le calme, la vue magnifique depuis la terrasse, c'était magique. Merci beaucoup!!

Loved our stay at Hennar place! She was super friendly and always available to answer our questions. So was Pascal for that matter! We were grateful to get insider tips from him. Our cabana was perfect! Better than what I had expected. Big, large windows, cleaned everyday, close to everything. Loved the view of the ocean-we even saw monkeys right in front a few times. We stayed 5 nights total which was good amount of time to explore Drake bay. We did 2 guided activities: Jungle tour and snorkelling tour And 2 days exploring on our own. Our favorite was definitely exploring on our own. We simply adored walking up the river to the waterfall:) Wow! And also enjoyed the walk to playa Caletas. Drake bay is really a magical place and Hennar’s cabana is convientely located to allow you to discover it!

We spent 5 nights in Drake Bay in March 2017 : 2 nights close to the Drake beach in Agujitas and 3 nights in Casa Drake. This place is very peaceful ! Edward, our host is very kind and warm. This is a lodge built and drive by a family and all this family will help you to spend a really good moment in Osa Peninsula. This place is quieter than other lodges close to the beach in which you can be disturb by motorcycle. Edward will help you to plan your trip in Corcovado Park, or a horse ride to a beautiful waterfall ! And Edward's mum is the best cooker that we met during our trip in Costa Rica ! Her breakfast and dinner are absolutely delicious ! Well we spent a really good moment in this lodge and I hardly recommand this place.

We came to Sabalo Lodge through a recommendation of a friend, and we enjoyed our stay. We arrived in the pouring rain but thankfully Philippe was there to pick us up and make the whole transfer and check-in process smooth. The tents are basic but very comfortable, though the wildlife surrounding the tents and the lodge is just astounding. Every morning we woke up to monkeys in the trees next to us, tons of birds, and the obligatory friendly lodge dog (plus neighbourhood dogs :)). The price included breakfast, which was lovely and freshly prepared, and overall the staff was very friendly. We did some fun walking in the jungle and went to the nearby waterfalls, as well as heading out to Cano Island for snorkelling. They will assist with all the bookings. Another amazing surprise was dinner at "la Colombiana" next door, who cooked the most delicious meal for us in the evening. The lodge is off the beaten track, and unlike Drake's Bay there is no entertainment nearby, so be prepared for early nights.

realmente pasamos una excelente estadía en el Hotel Margarita. la habitación muy amplia . las camas muy cómodas . contratamos tours con Alberto del hotel y todo salió perfecto. muy conformes y por sobre todo la comida y la atención/amabilidad del Restaurante hotel margarita. volveremos sin dudas!

Ces quelques mots posés ici ne sauraient exprimer le plaisir que nous avons eu à séjourner chez Keiko et Greg. Nos hôtes étaient d’une bienveillance extrême, nous avons partagé nos dîner avec eux, ce fut de très bons moments de partage. Le chef nous a préparé d’excellents repas (étant végétarienne, il a pris soin de proposer des menus qui convenaient) : petit déjeuner et dîners et nous le remercions très sincèrement. Nos hôtes nous ont transmis leur amour pour cet endroit où nous nous sommes sentis privilégiés. Nos deux jours passés ici semblaient hors du temps. La vue sur la lagune, l’océan et la forêt était exceptionnelle, et la vue depuis la piscine sur un ciel incroyablement étoilé était indescriptible. Nous avions la sensation d’être seuls au monde, immergés dans une nature sauvage ou l’homme n’a pas encore laissé d indélébiles traces. Dans la propriété nous avons pu admirer des Aras, des capucins, des coatis, des rapaces… Ces deux jours ici ont été les plus incroyables.

This place was an absolute gem. Set back in the Jungle near the Sierpe river we felt like we were on another planet. Phillipe was an incredibly welcoming host and made ever part of our stay fantastic. Make sure you set up tours though him as they were able to pick us yo right on the river instead of having to drive to town. You do probably need 4 wheel drive to get the the lodge, but the drive was beautiful. Taking the ferry across the river really added to the experience. Take the time to go eat dinner at the neighbors place, she made food that was delicious and so filling.

This place was beyond my wildest dreams. After having traveled all around the world, I have never stayed at a place so unfathomably beautiful, so seamlessly connected to the natural world around, and so ready to welcome anyone and everyone into the loving, easy care of Costa Rica's pura vida. Literally next door to Corcovado National Park, easily within reach of Caño Island, and far enough from Drake Bay to feel like you're off the beaten tourist path. Even *getting* to Ocean Forest is an adventure worth having, whether by boat through old mangrove forests and along rugged coastline, or by 4x4 across two rivers and dense jungle. And upon arriving, the remoteness creates a sense of oneness with other travelers and the staff alike. Everyone feels like they are in on a really, really good secret. Where we stayed was elegant, simple, and in touch with the nature around: fresh sheets, delicious and accommodating meals, and beautiful places to reflect, swim, surf, wander, or practice yoga.

My daughter’s and my room at JadeMar was perfect for our 1-night stay. (We moved into one of the awesome cabinas for the rest of our stay.) Spotlessly clean, good AC and a perfect location for restaurants and groceries, and short walk to the beach to get the boats for tours. Henar is a really nice and helpful host. I highly recommend staying with her.

Naše zkušenost s tímto ubytováním byla naprosto jedinečná. Nachází se na jednom z nejkrásnějších míst na Kostarice, s dechberoucími výhledy, které si budete chtít pamatovat navždy. Majitel je opravdový srdcař, který do svého ubytování vkládá nejen energii, ale i velké srdce. Nejenže nám pomohl s plánováním výletu do džungle, ale sdílel i cenné tipy, které nám umožnily poznat okolí z perspektivy místních. Bylo vidět, že mu na hostech opravdu záleží. Za tu cenu jsme dostali víc, než jsme očekávali – autentický zážitek, přátelskou atmosféru a výhledy, které by mohly konkurovat těm z luxusních resortů. Pokud hledáte místo, které má duši, určitě doporučuji. Tohle místo je poklad!

Look no further!!! This place was absolutely amazing. The communication with the host was quick, clear and efficient. Upon arriving the check in is located at the restaurant (behind the rooms) there’s a little office off of the main restaurant. Hemi, the lady who works in the office is the nicest lady ever, she explained everything to us upon arrival. I highly recommend reserving your breakfast at the restaurant for the next morning. Not only is it absolutely delicious, they also have your table set upon arrival with hot coffee waiting for you and your meal out in literally minutes. This was great for the mornings we had tours and had to be up and out early. They open at 5am. The location is steps to the beach. The room was immaculately clean. They come in and clean your room every day. Which is welcomed after sandy beach days. The water pressure in the shower was amazing and the room over all was perfect! Highly recommend, this place is a vibe! Pura Vida!
