If you want a true off the grid experience with amazing food and views, make your way out here. Everything that we could have hoped and wished for. We felt like family when we arrived and they were so kind and wonderful throughout. The tours they offer are amazing. Would absolutely stay again if given the chance.

Words will never do this place justice. Both the lodge itself and the surroundings are stunningly beautiful. The pictures give a slight impression, but the place must be experienced to really understand the beauty of this place. The cabins are placed up on a hill with an amazing view over the jungle and the ocean. Macaws are flying over you all day. Coatis, tapirs, agutis and monkeys cross the grounds and nature trails are plentiful. We did a trek into Corcovado through la Leona gateway which was well worth it. Way less crowded than la Sirena and the scenery is incredible. I also took some yoga classes while I was there. The yoga itself was great and the cherry on the top was 8 macaws settling into a tree right in front of the yoga platform during class. We were also really pampered with delicious food and smoothies. We got there by cab which took something like 1 h 45 m each way. On the way there the driver spotted loads of animals for us. I’m so grateful for the whole experience.

Si vous aimez les animaux, vous avez trouvé votre logement ! Le parc de Chosa Manglar est fabuleux ! Le temps d'un café et vous aurez pu admirer Aras, écureuils, singes hurleurs (entre autres!)... Les propriétaires sont très accueillants et attentionnés. La cuisine commune est un tantinet spartiate mais la visite du facétieux raton-laveur nous le fait oublier ! Autre point positif, tout peut se faire à pied ! Si nous revenons à Puerto Jiménès, nous reviendrons à Chosa Manglar !

Great place to stay in Drake Bay! Super peaceful - perfect if you want to relax and enjoy the nature around. The cabin is surrounded by trees, and we spotted toucans, iguanas, even some macaws right from the terrace, which was amazing. The host is really kind and takes great care of the guests. You’ve got everything you need here. There's even a washing machine and a spin dryer, which is super useful in this humid part of Costa Rica. If you're coming to Drake, this place is a great choice.

Séjour juste incroyable chez Carlos, le haut niveau, le très haut niveau, les cieux du haut niveau. J’ai beaucoup voyagé mais je n’ai jamais vu un logement de la qualité de celui dont dispose Carlos. Le meilleur logement de tous les temps!

Chez Carlos, nous avons été complètement plongés dans la nature, à vivre au rythme des magnifiques mangroves environnantes. Carlos est un hôte discret, très aimable et plein d'attention. Paola est une merveilleuse cuisinière qui nous a régalés de plats traditionnels pendant notre séjour. Carlos et Wilson nous ont emmenés traverser les mangroves en kayak, et nous ont accompagnés faire une très belle marche dans la jungle environnante. Nous avons adoré séjourner chez Carlos, le calme, la vue magnifique depuis la terrasse, c'était magique. Merci beaucoup!!

We used Vistadrakelodge to stay in Drake Bay on our way to and from an overnight trip to Corcovado Preserve. We stayed a relaxed extra day after, swinging in the hammocks on the deck overlooking the sea. It had lovely views of the sea, birds and monkeys in its gardens and trees. And much enjoyed air conditioning! Emilio was great, met us at the boat from Sierpe to take us up the short hill from the beach, even though it would have been an easy 5 minute walk. He offered to take us to his farm to walk in nature but we were too tired to take the offer. Breakfast was hearty and delicious. He can also help arrange local boat tours and arranged our return trip back to Sierpe. Easy walk to several restaurants in town and the beach.

Loved our stay at Hennar place! She was super friendly and always available to answer our questions. So was Pascal for that matter! We were grateful to get insider tips from him. Our cabana was perfect! Better than what I had expected. Big, large windows, cleaned everyday, close to everything. Loved the view of the ocean-we even saw monkeys right in front a few times. We stayed 5 nights total which was good amount of time to explore Drake bay. We did 2 guided activities: Jungle tour and snorkelling tour And 2 days exploring on our own. Our favorite was definitely exploring on our own. We simply adored walking up the river to the waterfall:) Wow! And also enjoyed the walk to playa Caletas. Drake bay is really a magical place and Hennar’s cabana is convientely located to allow you to discover it!

We came to Sabalo Lodge through a recommendation of a friend, and we enjoyed our stay. We arrived in the pouring rain but thankfully Philippe was there to pick us up and make the whole transfer and check-in process smooth. The tents are basic but very comfortable, though the wildlife surrounding the tents and the lodge is just astounding. Every morning we woke up to monkeys in the trees next to us, tons of birds, and the obligatory friendly lodge dog (plus neighbourhood dogs :)). The price included breakfast, which was lovely and freshly prepared, and overall the staff was very friendly. We did some fun walking in the jungle and went to the nearby waterfalls, as well as heading out to Cano Island for snorkelling. They will assist with all the bookings. Another amazing surprise was dinner at "la Colombiana" next door, who cooked the most delicious meal for us in the evening. The lodge is off the beaten track, and unlike Drake's Bay there is no entertainment nearby, so be prepared for early nights.

Exactly what you pay for. No more no less. Hotel room with bathroom. Great water pressure. Comfy beds and excellent ac.

Super Unterkunft mit vielen lieben Mitarbeitern. Wir sind an der Rezeption total herzlich von Anni empfangen worden, sie hat uns direkt alles gezeigt, viele tolle Tipps gegeben und Fragen beantwortet. Die Zimmer sind mit Balkon oder Terrasse ausgestattet und zum Teil mit Kochgelegenheiten. Ergänzend noch eine kleine Gemeinschaftskochecke die auch genutzt werden kann. Die Lage ist super, direkt am Strand gelegen, Fahrräder und Kajaks werden kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt. Super ist eine Kajakfahrt in die nahe gelegenen Mangroven. Der kleine Hafen ist in der Nähe, von hier aus starten auch Touren in den Corcovado Nationalpark. Bei der Vermittlung von Touren ist Johns Team auch gerne behilflich. Ein paar km entfernt befinden sich weitere Traumstrände, die fast Menschenleer sind. Leguane, Aras und weitere Tiere sind auch an der Unterkunft zu finden. Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind fußläufig zu erreichen. Wir wären gerne noch länger geblieben, aber unsere Tour geht weiter.

Andre’s place is definitely stunning! We came from Drake bay, the boat drop us close by, Andre and his uncle picked us up by car. The wooden cabin hides among the palm trees and flowers, parrots jumping on top of the almond trees. In the back of the cabin we have a beautiful open meditation room. Facing the wild. We even observed Tucan during dinner time! The hotel also offers free kayak, you can paddle all the way to the ocean... a paradise waterfall is also near by. Everything here reminds us how free and beautiful life is. Last but not least, Andre and his family are wonderful. Thank you so much!

Wir durften 3 Nächte in dieser Unterkunft übernachten und waren sehr zufrieden. Es ist sehr schön eingerichtet und duftet in jedem Raum sehr gut. Auch der kleine Innenhof mit Pool haben wir mehrmals genutzt zur Abkühlung. Die Angestellte ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Mein Partner und ich können die Unterkunft weiterempfehlen.

The cabin is in a small and laidback resort. There is a yoga shala, and the staff can help with booking tours and more. The location is very remote (twenty minute walk on the beach), so it's adviced to pack light. It's also a beautiful place, with a big private beach but also in the jungle. We observed all kinds of animals, including macaws and monkeys. There are no nearby restaurants, but there are meals in the resort at extra cost. All in all a great place, and we would have loved to stay longer if we could.

Super séjour dans ce logement idyllique. L'appartement est propre, bien situé et très joli. Super accueil dans l'appartement et la communication avec Inka était vraiment facile.

Ces quelques mots posés ici ne sauraient exprimer le plaisir que nous avons eu à séjourner chez Keiko et Greg. Nos hôtes étaient d’une bienveillance extrême, nous avons partagé nos dîner avec eux, ce fut de très bons moments de partage. Le chef nous a préparé d’excellents repas (étant végétarienne, il a pris soin de proposer des menus qui convenaient) : petit déjeuner et dîners et nous le remercions très sincèrement. Nos hôtes nous ont transmis leur amour pour cet endroit où nous nous sommes sentis privilégiés. Nos deux jours passés ici semblaient hors du temps. La vue sur la lagune, l’océan et la forêt était exceptionnelle, et la vue depuis la piscine sur un ciel incroyablement étoilé était indescriptible. Nous avions la sensation d’être seuls au monde, immergés dans une nature sauvage ou l’homme n’a pas encore laissé d indélébiles traces. Dans la propriété nous avons pu admirer des Aras, des capucins, des coatis, des rapaces… Ces deux jours ici ont été les plus incroyables.

We had a wonderful time at this accommodation. The place has wonderful view. The host was incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and pleasant stay!

The stay was AMAZING. Location was AMAZING, and the people were AMAZING!! 100% RECOMMEND. And you don't have to worry about any river crossings from Puerto Jimenez
