We had an incredible stay at Villa Jahe in the Sumberkima Hill Retreat. The villa is beautifully designed, blending traditional Balinese architecture with modern comfort. The view over the bay and surrounding hills is absolutely breathtaking – especially during sunrise and sunset. The villa feels very private and is perfect for relaxing. The private pool was a highlight – always clean and surrounded by nature. Everything was spotless and well-maintained. The outdoor bathroom is a special touch and made the experience even more unique. Staff were kind and helpful. Communication before and during the stay was smooth, and they assisted with booking massages, meals, and transport. The food at the retreat’s restaurants was excellent – fresh, healthy, and beautifully presented. This place is a bit off the beaten track, which is exactly what we wanted. If you’re looking for peace, nature, and a bit of luxury in the north of Bali, Villa Jahe is the perfect spot.

Really loved the stay! Really nice Frodo room with the hobbit vibes. The guys were friendly and very helpful! Also the people in the neighborhood were very helpful! Love to come back!

Great Hospitality, Architecture is beautiful, Breakfast and lunch options were top notch! If you are looking for a nice and cozy location close to Menjangan Island this is the place. Hosts also organised Snorkeling at Menjangan Island very easily and this was an amazing experience and which I strongly recommend.

Wir haben vier Schlafzimmer gebucht und sind im Haus mit zwei Schlafzimmern und dem angeschlossenen Nebengebäude mit zwei weiteren Einheiten sehr gut mit allen Personen untergekommen. Die Unterkunft eignet sich daher auch optimal für größere Gruppen wie zum Beispiel ein Familientreffen um einige Tage in der Stadt zu verbringen und für Ausflüge in die nähere Umgebung.

Miss Dya is an amazing host! We are SUPERHOSTS in USA and she was just wonderful. From booking, to pre-check-in, check-in, during our stay and after, Miss Dya was a perfect host. The space has such adorable style! The living room is small, but the high ceilings and windows make it feel grand. All the bedrooms have great A/C and are nicely decorated. The kitchen, although compact, has what you need for your stay and to prep meals. There are 2 showers: one on its own and another with a toilet. That was nice with our family of 6. We took the Mt. Igen night tour and this was a great homebase. There are easily walkable small shops, easy drive to restaurants, markets and all your activities. There’s room to park your car or motorbike in the gates front yard. We’d highly recommend this space to others coming to explore this area!

We had a brilliant stay at House of Hobbit, and would definitely recommend staying here to explore North Bali. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and it was easy to organise transport, snorkel trips, and anything else we needed. We were also given a great recommendation for a nearby beach club, and got the opportunity to go along to a religious ceremony, which was a brilliant experience. It is worth hiring a scooter (which you can do at the hotel for a very reasonable price) to explore the local area as the main beach and restaurants are a 15/20 minute ride away. Quick tip: When we got a lift back to southern Bali we were also given the option to stop off at interesting sites along the way for no extra cost (other than entrance fees) so had we not already been on a tour from Ubud we definitely would have done this - it would have been much more economical, time efficient and personalised. We had the most amazing stay at Purwa Ijen! our Jungle View bungalow looked just like the photos! Kak Irna has been very helpful throughout our stay, helping us booking transportation as well as guide to hike Mount Ijen (Mas Riki was very professional and friendly!) and sharing suggested walk routes around Purwa Ijen (including to Agathis Forest!). Mas Wisnu, the caretaker of Purwa Ijen, was super helpful and responsive everytime we had a question. I should add that their smoothie bowl for breakfast is yummy. One more thing: the bathroom was spotless and squeaky clean (must say that bathroom is my pet peeve when traveling). DO BOOK YOUR STAY HERE :) WE TOTALLY RECOMMEND! Purwa Ijen is a perfect home base to explore Ijen area! Thank you so much Kak Irna and Mas Supandi!

This place feels soooo relax and hommy, the host and Wafa are so helpful. I booked motorcycle and ijen trip via them. If I visit Banyuwangi I will definitely come to their place again

A nice place to stay. The main house is so homey. we can cook and make a coffee. Surprisingly, it was included breakfast. Widi was no nice and helpful. He also guided us to some places that were nice to visit. He also introduced the local food like Nasi Cawuk .

The house was small, clean, and beautifully designed, making it feel very cozy. However, the address on Airbnb was incorrect, which led us to the wrong location on a bad road at night, making it extremely hard to return. We eventually found the right place on Google Maps and needed a video call from the host to figure out where to go—quite a challenge after a 7-hour journey. At night, a nearby celebration made it hard to rest before our early trip to Ijen. Despite these issues, we enjoyed the stay. The staff was super friendly, and after our hike, we had an amazing breakfast that made up for the rough start!
