Would recommend as a solo retreat or a group getaway. Lots of solitude and relaxation, I’d definitely come back!

Jeremy's home in the Kawartha's was absolutely perfect for our 2 families and young children. From the moment we arrived we felt so at home! The property is stunning, nestled amongst the trees, though wide open and bright- there is generous deck space, a lawn for kids to run around on (as well as a zip line, swing and hammocks!!) and a sweet meandering path that leads to a quiet lake and dock. The home itself has a comfortable, spacious and relaxed vibe. It's mid century, art filled and modern. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need for creative cooking, and the amenities in general are generous- from board games to water sports, sauna and hot tub. While there we had rainy days and colder days, but there was always so much to do and explore that every day was rich. This home would also be a perfect winter getaway.. maybe one day!

What a great spot The Rogers Retreat is! Such cozy spaces inside for family hangouts, and a beautiful view of the lake. We appreciated all the amenities and comfy furniture. It was the perfect backdrop to our cousins' reunion. Chris was a welcoming host - very accessible and great communication. Thanks for everything!

The cottage has a spectacular view of the lake. It is very spacious and up to date. The kitchen was well supplied with utensils, dinnerware, pots/pans, an air fryer and rice cooker. The dock area is in great condition, so it is a terrific place to relax in the sun, swim and fish. The stairs from the cottage to the dock has many steps, so my 84 year-old mother-in-law with bad osteoarthritis of the knees could not get down to the lake to go tubing. She was very happy to stay in the cottage and enjoy the view. The is only a short drive to Buckhorn with a Foodland and a Home Hardware to pick the items that you packed but left at home. Alex and Sophie were quick to answer any questions. Overall a really enjoyable couple of weeks.

We had a fantastic stay for a long weekend (birthday) getaway. Nice private location with a view. Enjoyed the hot-tub while watching the first snowfall of the season, wood stove and the well stocked kitchen. Host even left some treats for my pup, which she really enjoyed and was very responsive/helpful. Pros: private location, right on the water, kayak/canoe/hot tub for use, well stocked kitchen, responsive host! Cons: (only 1!) mice! My dog could not stop hunting the cabin throughout our stay lol (she is dedicated, like a cat!) , and we did find some droppings on the dishes in the cupboards, before use. Overall - we had a fantastic time. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay. We hope to be back soon!

I was looking for a night of quiet respite to chill & recharge. Dave & Bonnie certainly provided this it was perfect. They have anticipated everything their visitors might need. I hope to stay again soon, I can pack much less next time. They truly thought of everything.

Cori has done an amazing job decorating the cottage - it was a very well-kept and well-stocked space. The listing was very accurate and the check-in experience was very smooth. There was lots to do in the area and Cori had also prepared a binder with information detailing activities and attractions nearby. She was also readily available for any questions that we may have had. Thank you for having us as your guests - we're looking forward to coming again in the future!

My fiancee and I wanted a place where we could experience winter with our 14 month old son. This cottage was perfect. It's on a beautiful, quiet, large piece of property. There was so much snow on the ground but we were still able to enjoy ourselves! There was a massive snow storm coming so unfortunately we had to end our visit early. The inside of the cottage is set up beautifully and has everything you should need. Our son is just learning to walk and had a blast zooming around the main floor. Even though we had to leave early we still enjoyed our stay and would love to check it out again. Luke, Kelce, Grady

We took a few days to experience winter wonderful and we got this at this lovely cottage. Coming from the GTA area, looking for a peaceful cottage, this was a welcoming space. We thank Chris for allowing us to decompress and just enjoy a bit of winter before spring comes!

Aileen's place was immaculate and well maintained. The pellet stove warms up the entire place perfectly and the view from the windows (especially the snow) was amazing! only 5 minutes to Bancroft and the guidebook was helpful in deciding what to do and where to eat. Would definitely stay here again

We went up the weekend of a fairly big snowstorm and Heidi was very responsive, and really flexible which was a huge help with navigating the weather! She was very proactive about making sure the roads were ploughed and safe to drive, which was much appreciated. A lovely host! The place was beautiful and peaceful and we had a great weekend here, would definitely recommend :)

Beautiful rustic cabin in the woods but near restaurants etc...Tavia was a great host, available and helpful. She is always within reach but very respectful of your privacy. The area is peaceful country, on a dirt road surrounded by farm land and two ponds. The cabin is basic, everything required for a rustic gettaway, and a screened in porch with forest view. The only warning would be for those who cant climb a ladder to the bed loft. I will definitely be back.

Shireen’s place was the perfect March break getaway for our family, including our dog! It is a beautifully appointed, very private cottage where you feel immersed in nature, yet only a short drive to amenities. Shireen is an amazing host, her communication is timely and effective and, she has left no details out in preparing her cottage to optimize your stay as a guest. We will definitely be returning in Spring/Summer to experience all of the opportunities that Shireen’s place has to offer during the warmer months. The Sauna and hot/cold plunges were one of the highlights of our winter stay!

Our stay at the cabin on Golden Lake was absolutely perfect! As always, we were warmly greeted by Cindy, whose friendly smile and attentive care make every visit feel extra special. The cabin was already warm upon arrival, and its cozy ambiance welcomed us for a relaxing weekend getaway. We were delighted to find delicious Lindor chocolates waiting for us—a sweet and thoughtful touch! The log cabin itself is absolutely charming, with its 3 beautifully appointed bedrooms. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the cabin was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need. The terrace offers stunning views of Golden Lake, where you can enjoy ice fishing or skating right outside your door. Plus, we discovered an incredible skating trail in the nearby woods—an absolute must-try for outdoor enthusiasts. We can’t wait to come back again. Our family had a wonderful stay. The stunning views are even better than the pictures. The kids loved both the outdoor and indoor activities, with canoeing and local attractions being the highlights for us. Hosts Cindy and Mike were extremely helpful, offering excellent recommendations and exceeding our expectations. The place had a welcoming vibe. Highly recommended—a hidden gem.

The cabin is really nice, not too close to the other cabins near by. Dishes and silverware were provided which was nice, and a mini fridge as well. We brought our own portable stove as there is no oven/stove at the cottage, and everything worked out perfectly. We stayed in cottage #3 which seemed closest to the beach area and access to kayaks, canoes, paddles, etc. Front desk was very nice and supportive when we asked to have the beach shed unlocked for us to go canoeing. Golfing is also a really fun thing to do on site! We rented clubs and golf carts and had a great time. No complaints! Nice and quiet area to go with friends, family, or as a couple.

Thank you Scott for a great stay! Definitely a bit of a "lived in" airbnb, but it was very affordable for our group so ultimately no complaints. Tons of bedding and pillows to make our stay comfortable. so many board games and table games which was awesome for our group. Typically Airbnb's that have hot tubs, I've found to be very hit or miss. Not this one! It was very hot and worked perfectly even in the cold winter. really made for a relaxing stay as we used it everyday. Finally, Scott allowed us to bring our pet which was much appreciated, however do suggest you keep close watch. At one point our dog strayed on to the neighbor's yard and despite apologizing he threatened the dog and us if it were to happen again. Guy was unhinged so be mindful. otherwise great communication from Scott, and he even let us check out a bit later since no one else was staying that evening. Thanks Scott for the great stay! will be back again!

An amazing property with the most hospitable of hosts. The Cooperage House sits on a picture perfect lake surrounded by romantic ruins . It has all the amenities that you could ever want. Theater room, hottub, suana, firepit, firewood, tent outside, multiple grills, fully stocked kitchen. Bedrooms are tastefully decorated. Kitchen is luxurious. Large deck for entertaining. Large property for keeping children busy. I would highly recommend to anyone.

We had a great time Gord’s place!The cabin is spacious, cozy, and functional with a fully equipped kitchen and two full bathrooms. Great location with easy access to the pool and a beautiful view of the lake where you can enjoy stunning sunsets right from the deck. The grounds are meticulously maintained with beautiful flowerbeds and ample lakeshore space, very quiet,creating a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. Gord and his family are exceptional hosts—friendly, respectful, accommodating, and quick to respond to any questions we had. Gord even offered a flexible check-in time and provided two heaters for a couple of chilly nights. His local recommendations for nearby attractions were also greatly appreciated. Additionally, their thoughtful gesture of providing a play kitchen structure with toys made our toddler incredibly happy. We highly recommend Gord’s place to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. Thank you for a memorable stay—we look forward to returning!
