It is a wonderful place to unwind and just stare out of the big window in front of a little fire after a good hiking day. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious what made cooking joyful. I loved it and hope to return one day.

Beautiful location and wonderful hosts who couldn’t have done more for us. The setting was perfect.

We had an amazing stay! The chalet was the perfect place to return to after a day out exploring - so cosy and peaceful. The views are incredible and we loved spotting all the seals and other wildlife. Joan was a very welcoming and helpful host. We 'd love to return one day!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Byre and have never been so devastated to leave an Airbnb before!! This cosy home has a beautiful view over Glendale that you can enjoy both outside from the garden and inside through the windows from the comfort of the living room or bedroom. Watching the sunset each night certainly was a highlight. The cottage itself is cosy, clean, spacious and bright, Lynn has made this feel like a real home from home (frankly I’d happily trade my own home for this one!) whilst I enjoyed exploring the sights of Skye I also enjoyed lazy days in the Byre reading by the fire. Glendale is a gem of a location and a short distance from Neist Point which has stunning views. Just down the hill from the cottage is Cafe Lephin that serves up great food and coffee, and the nearby general store that is well stocked. Lynn was always quick to correspond and so helpful with recommendations, I cannot recommend her as a host enough and can’t wait to return to the Byre again!

What a magical place! We absolutely loved our stay here and already dream of coming back. The inside is soooo beautiful and comfortable that we didn’t mind staying in on rainy days. We could never get sick of watching the sheep roaming the hillsides or the ever changing coast from the fabulous sunroom. The only downside is we were unaware of the time involved to bring the wood-fired hot tub up to temp. It takes an hour to fill with water and “up to 3.5 hours to heat in the winter”. Since we can’t leave the fire unattended, we weren’t able to enjoy it until our third night since we arrived home so late on the previous nights. It is also very hard to find in the dark and the pin led us to the wrong spot. Google Mapsing the house name took us to the right spot, but we arrived in the dark and were unable to see the sign to the bottom right of the gate. Everything else was completely perfect and we highly recommend staying in this lovely place.

Absolutely stunning location on the Isle of Skye. The hamlet of Glendale is very rural with plenty of country walks right outside the door. This was a perfect location for us to spend 3 weeks over Christmas Holidays. The house was perfect for many pots of tea after long walks in the countryside. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. The kitchen is a great layout as a family center. The Glendale Country Store is a short walk down the road from the house and has an amazing selection of food options for such a small place. Overall, this was the perfect location for us to spend our family 2024 Christmas Holidays. Hope to come back again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the beautiful little cottage. Like a tardis with a nice roomy, cosy interior. Lots of space for cooking and very well equipped. The cottage has a fascinating history, which we learned from Maria, information in the cottage and a mention in the Kildonian museum, which especially opened for us as it closes for the winter in October. Despite the closure of cafes and tourist sites for the winter, we still managed lots of beautiful walks with magical views, and to shop well for a restorative feast at the end of the day. Also, enjoyed a fanastic evening of Scottish music at the Ceolas centre and a trip to Barra and the cafe in the lovely community gardens there, plus stocking up on seafood at the Barratlantic shop and things to take home at the Buth Bharraigh community shop. A lovely place to stay and a great location.

Ronnie’s cottage is lovely! The cottage is immaculate, has everything you need and has an amazingly comfy bed! It has a great enclosed garden which was so handy as we were travelling with our dogs and toddler. It’s also in a perfect location for exploring north and south Uist. We would definitely love to stay again.

Beautifully decorated and well appointed home. Great location - 5 min walk from the co-op, 15 mins walk to the centre of Castlebay. We stayed with our two young kids and their grandparents. Everyone was comfortable, there were appropriately designed bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate all ages. The house was warm throughout and features a comfy living room, big dining table - and a bright and welcoming kitchen with a nice, smaller table for breakfast. Definitely hope to stay here again and happily recommend.
