I spent a long weekend at Simon and Belinda’s place in Chapel Stile. They were abroad during my stay, but this didn’t matter - their communication was excellent and the place was superb, with lots of local recommendations. Thanks, would certainly stay again.

Third time we’ve stayed at High Biggin with wider family. This time a commitment ceremony. Paul went well beyond the call of duty meeting us months beforehand so we could visit to work out exactly how and in what spaces to make it happen. Everything went perfectly. As we’d planned HB was a great place for us all to relax and enjoy ourselves. The mid-March weather was unexpectedly glorious. Even got to try out the new hot tub! Hope to be back next year.

The cottage was cosy and clean with lots of things to keep us entertained- especially the darts board and hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked and modern and the local host was very helpful and responsive when we needed help as well. Overall I would 100% recommend and well worth the stay :)

Beautiful location next to the lake, relaxing and peaceful. The cottage is full of character and charm. I hope to go back again

Jerry was a very responsive host lots of information. You also get a app to use which is very helpful with clear instructions on how to access the property useful information with apps and gadgets and also local restaurants and shops the cottage itself was beautiful amazing views hot tub was fantastic beautiful surroundings very private would very highly recommend and will most definitely be staying again and a big thank you to Jeff for being an amazing host. I’m very helpful.

Another fabulous stay at the cottage. The place is spotless, well fitted and in a great position in the village. Alison is a brilliant host. Approachable , kind and helpful. Not much else to say other than if you are thinking of booking this just do it !

Extremely comfortable cottage in a lovely, pretty location. Very well equipped kitchen, great shower and very comfortable bed. Very clean and own parking spot was a bonus. Great comms from Brittany and excellent local recommendations. Looking forward to returning soon. Highly recommend.

Lovely little cottage that had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. Comfy bed, great shower with super nice shower gel, and lots of useful bits and bobs in the kitchen. Lovely surprise to have a bottle of Prosecco and cookies left for us too - thank you! Perfect location for walking into the village, eating at Rogan & Co and exploring the Southern Lakes. We went to Netherwood Spa for a 90 min Thermal Journey which is a 10 min drive, highly recommend after a day of walking! Would definitely come back and stay here again.

A lovely cosy cottage, nicely furnished with very comfortable beds and a great sized kitchen. Beautifully decorated for Christmas.

Following the detailed instructions on google maps I was able to pin point the exact location and that made the journey easy and relaxing. Walking into the property was a delight. Very spacious and beautiful. The attention to detail In every room was impressive. The owner had clearly made a big effort to make the place special and so we felt spoilt. Everything worked as expected. Very clean throughout. Inside a folder left for us was detailed instructions for 14 different walks we could choose from on cards. I was very impressed with this and it made exploring so much easier. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a luxurious stay. Only downside is we had to eventually leave.

Location is very accessible, close to station and shops, pubs, buses etc. Kitchen and outdoor space is great, especially in the morning. Heating was on a timer which was lovely to get back to a warm house. Highly recommend and will probably book again. Thank you Katharine

Beautiful lodge in a peaceful little spot equipped with everything you could need and more. Plenty of things to do to keep you busy too when you're not enjoying the peace and quiet of the lodge itself.

Absolutely loved our anniversary stay at Crumble Cottage. Was everything we needed for relaxation and more On check in, Stewart was on hand and gave us an overview of the place, surroundings and suggested great places to visit and eat. The cottage itself is approx 15min walk into the centre of Cartmel - with great places to eat and drink there We visited the Wolf Predator experience by Grange-over-Sands - it was amazing!! Really enjoyed the comfort of the cottage and the tranquility- Will definitely be back again! Thanks for having us (Heidi & Craig) ☺️

Catherine is an excellent host, great communication and keen that everything is ok, quick response to queries raised. lovely welcome touch, of milk, cereal, bread, pastries, fruit juice jam, butter and apples and a supply of tea and coffee. Lovely compact cottage with a good kitchen, with a dishwasher and microwave. peaceful and quiet, away from everything but only a short drive in to Kendal

Fabulous stay in a beautiful part of the world. Really peaceful and quiet. The cottage is a real gem. A real home from home. Beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The location is perfect for walks on the doorstep. Many thanks to Paul for providing a home from home.

Met all our needs for a walking weekend with friends. Lovely clean and comfortable house, with a private garden that we enjoyed the afternoon sun in after a day on the hills. Beautiful walks from the doorstep and the village has two pubs and a few cafés. Really old and interesting village, worth a wander around. We ate at The Sun Inn Friday night, stone baked pizza night! Highly recommended and friendly staff. We cooked Saturday night in the cottage, it has everything you need and has extremely comfortable sofas and beds. Can not fault anything and would definitely stay here again.

This is a beautiful, peaceful place. Derek and Kath made me feel so welcome and cared for. The dogs and I had a wonderful time. The cottage is spacious and beautifully furnished. We enjoyed exploring the little river on the property. There are some sheep, as this is a farming community - seeing the spring lambs was lovely this week. The walks 5-10 minutes drive away were absolutely amazing. Try walking Nicky Nook, which is incredible.

Lovely location for a holiday with my 3 teenagers. Quiet and private location with easy, secure parking. Walking distance to a good pub , 5 mins drive to Oxenholme Station and short drive to supermarkets and Kendal. Easy to get to all the activities in the lakes. We based ourselves near Kendal for the climbing centre and did loads of outdoor activities (ghyll scrambling, SUP boarding, climbing, mountain biking). The cottage was very comfortable and there was loads of space for us all. We went to a local farm shop and had a BBQ on the gas BBQ a couple of nights - perfect sunny spot for post-activity relaxing. The cottage is very well equipped and made for a relaxing week. Thank you!
