Absolutely serene quiet place to stay. House has such a unique and fun layout and is very accommodating. Very private location along a flowing creek. I only wish we could stay longer than a quick weekend getaway. Heather is an AMAZING host!! Extremely responsive and friendly. Daydreaming of being back already. Thank you so much Heather for the wonderful space!!

Being able to walk out the back door for 5 minutes to the river was amazing. And the yard was fenced in so my dog could sniff around off-leash. Mary gave great recommendations for restaurants and hikes. It was a very peaceful stay.

Amazing! I was in Alamosa for labs at Adams State and staying at this place made it relaxing after busy days throughout the week. Felt like home.

We had a wonderful time at the cabin! The proximity and sound of the river was soothing, the wood burning stove kept the place warm and cozy, and the stars were amazing. Turn-key, well equipped cabin, great host - Will definitely be back! Cumbres Pass was great for sledding and scenic drives. Wolf Creek was outstanding skiing! Ojo Caliente Hot Springs were nice - but over-crowded and my kids did not really appreciate it. Rio Grande Gorge Bridge is very cool and worth the stop. We ate well at Dos Hermanas in Antonito - but most of our dinners were in Alamosa (easy 45 min. drive) - check out Rubi Slipper, San Luis Valley Brewing Co., and Purple Pig Pizzeria…

This was a perfect getaway from the city, and the Cowboy Cabin had everything you could think of for our own retreat. Amenities, location, vibes; all were exactly what we were looking for.

Great space and location for peaceful family time! The house is just as cozy as the pictures suggest, with comfortable and well taken care of furnishings. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen. Highlight for families is the upstairs loft with special sleeping and play space for little kids. Our daughter loved the new to her toys and books.

This was our family's 2nd stay at this property, and we wouldn't hesitate to book it again. The location is very private and secluded, with beautiful views everywhere you look. You're only a few minutes from Great Sand Dunes Nat'l Park, and about a 30-ish minute drive to the hot spring pool. The house is quite large and provided private spaces for each of the 5 of us. The large kitchen has every amenity. There is a "no shoes inside" policy at this property, which is not an issue at all, and the carpet and flooring stay clean. The roads in the neighborhood are not paved, and are perfect for taking long walks where you might spot deer, rabbits and dozens of hummingbirds.
