Peaceful ambience and worthy hotel with nicest staff.

Great host & staffs, makes the guest so comfortable. Really worth the money. Also the location is great as it’s between Auroville and white town. The place is Chinese theme based, it’s damn beautiful

Skandavan is a great place for travellers seeking some distance from the buzz of auroville. We stayed for 10 days and would have stayed longer had it not been booked. The room has a beautiful color scheme and the dome is a unique feature. It is a good idea to rent a scooter upon arrival, since it is far from the road, the hosts are ready to assist in that. It feels secluded and in the forest, which of course comes with some mosquitoes. It also feels a bit dark in the winter under the large bamboo bushes. The common kitchen has very basic equipment, bring coffee making equipment. The nearby botanical garden offers delicious lunch on weekdays. There is fast wifi in the common room, it does not reach the cabin unfortunately, airtel struggles too. We had a wonderful and peaceful stay and look forward to our next visit. The guest house and the room was clean with attention given to th2 details. There was lovely foliage in the shared areas including a beautiful water feature with lotuses. In Geraldine, I also found a very gracious and helpful host! 

I loved my stay at Villa Helena! The place is well-maintained and quaint with refurbished interiors whilst still preserving the gorgeous, antique features of the villa. The rooms are very spacious, air-conditioned and cleaned regularly. Each room is so beautiful, with its own theme and colour. Villa Helena is also located in the centre of Town, so it was very convenient to walk everywhere. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I would choose to stay here each time I visit Pondicherry :)

Stayed at Villa Helena twice and loved it each time. The room was gorgeous, clean and very spacious. On our first visit, there was a technical issue with AC which could not be fixed in the duration of our stay. Ms Geraldine and her staff very kindly shifted us to an XL room (which was even more beautiful!) and we were also compensated with free drinks from the bar. We really appreciated how quickly they made alternative arrangements to ensure we weren’t inconvenienced. Thank you for the great hospitality!

Comfortable place right near the beach and all attractions. Everything is within walking distance. The place itself is clean and provides all amenities mentioned. The cafe has good food available all day. The local recommendations are also worthwhile.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit der Unterkunft alles war super süß hergerichtet und das Frühstück welches inklusive war war auch genial. Auch ein gutes Restaurant befindet sich in der Unterkunft. In der Umgebung kann es Nachts laut sein, dies liegt ab der Straße und an den Tieren der Umgebung. Trotz allem eine schöne Unterkunft und zum empfehlen.

A lovely cozy stay in the heart of the French Colony. As soon as you step in through the inconspicuous main door, you are immediately transported back to a nineteenth century french bungalow with a huge courtyard filled with trees, that serves as the cafe/restaurant…The room, though a bit small, was cozy and well supplied with all necessities…The bathroom was nearly as big as the room and very clean and well maintained. The food in the safe was nice, although a bit pricey…but most importantly, its location makes it a breeze to explore Pondicherry on foot…Loved our stay and will be back again.

Our stay was fantastic! Maison Twenty-Six is a beautifully renovated 150 year-old house with exquisitely designed rooms that show great attention to detail. The staff was very attentive but never overbearing, and the garden was lovely. Everything was super clean. The location was perfect—right in the center of White Town, close to amazing restaurants, shops, and landmarks, yet incredibly peaceful. Highly recommend for an unforgettable experience.

I loved my stay at Tanto Beach— it was peaceful and relaxing, while also having all the basics I needed. The kitchenette was very sufficient for me to prep some basic meals since I have a lot of food restrictions, although I would have appreciated having some basic kitchen staples like oil and salt that most guests would use if using the induction. My favourite part by far was being able to take my morning cup of tea to the beach or sit in my balcony and hear the waves. I also felt very safe here travelling as a single woman, and i do imagine coming back some day.

The stay feels like a different world altogether. With pristine surroundings and aesthetic furniture, waking up here during my stay was a feeling I’d never forget.
