Ryan's place was just perfect! My wife and son stayed there for 2 weeks and it was just the place that they needed. So clean, safe and convenient. Also, Ryan was an incredible host. He was a super clear communicator who made the check in process so easy. But the most amazing thing was that when I had an urgent package of some medications arriving that I had sent for my wife, Ryan jumped in the car and drove over ASAP to ensure that we were able to safely get the package, and he delivered it to the door!! He was awesome, would definitely recommend and stay here again! Thanks Ryan!!

I stayed for an extended period while working in Des Moines. Access is easy and the location is quite comfortable. Greg lives downstairs and is very friendly and accommodating, but not nosey or bothersome in the least. I could come and go as I pleased with convenient garage parking and separate access. I messed up and failed to reserve this place for next year when I have to do this again, as I would definitely stay here if it were available. Everything you need is there. I have a plethora of suits that are quite heavy, and I worried I'd break the closet rod. Greg came up with a rolling clothes rack for the bedroom. He just happened to have one of those on hand. The only downside is that the home is near the bottom of a hill that can be an issue in icy weather. The road is very narrow and just enough to squeeze by oncoming cars. There are 17 or 18 steps to get to the apartment from the garage, so that may be a problem for some guests, but I had no issues with that at all.

Loved the location! Walking distance to almost everything! Brian was very responsive to questions that we had. Beautiful shop (Candi's) and nice pub (A&P) surround entrance. Would definitely recommend staying at Brian's place! A+

Tonya’s place was great. It was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and very well stocked with everything I needed— including many thoughtful touches such as games to play and various kinds of coffee and tea. It was totally private and the beds were extremely comfortable. The back windows look out into a wooded area and one day I saw six deer resting under the trees. It was a short walk to the supermarket, which was helpful since I did not have a car while I was there. Would definitely stay here again!

House was all and more than we had hoped. Comfortable furnishings, with all the added touches we appreciate, throws in the living room to not cheap toilet paper! I know, but the little touches were much appreciated! The location was off the main drag, yet close enough to get to everywhere in a timely manner. Jackie was very accommodating to a few of our last minute needs and help make our stay more relaxing and personal. Would recommend her house to anyone coming to the area!

We had a great girls weekend! The house was the perfect size and a great location. Loved having the grocery store next door! The house had everything we needed!

This is our second stay at Ed and Cindy's and five stars doesn't seem enough. We'd award them more if we could. Yes, everything about the 1875 House is physically perfect, but it's the intangibles; the love and care they put in to the place, the friendly communications, and the genuine concern they have for the comfort and wellbeing of their guests that make a stay there so unique and comforting. There's an old Scottish song with a chorus that goes, "Will ye no come back again?" This Scottish-American answers with a definite, "Aye!" Thanks, Ed and Cindy, for everything you do!

We have stayed at this location several times while visiting our son who attends Simpson College. It works great for our family and will definitely stay here again.

I had a fantastic stay at Ciara and Sarah’s apartment. Communication was excellent, with prompt responses—not that they were often needed! The apartment was incredibly easy to find, simple to access, and perfectly located near a variety of great restaurants and bars. Inside, the apartment was spotless, with a well-thought-out layout. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, the showers were great, and the kitchen was well-equipped. The only thing missing was a kettle, which I would have appreciated for my tea-loving English habits—but there is a coffee machine for those who prefer that! Would I stay again? Absolutely. It’s a solid 5 stars all around!

Had a lovely stay at Jeff's place! The condo was lovely, nicely decorated and comfortable. We felt welcome right away with a nice card from Jeff and some snacks. We had everything we needed at the condo including a comfortable bed and pull out sofa and a full kitchen. Light sleepers may want to bring a noise machine or ear plugs as the downtown bar crowd can be a little noisy on the weekends. We would love to stay here again the next time we're in Des Moines!

We had a great stay for a week in this Airbnb. The space was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, which made for a pleasant stay. The location was convenient. However, one of the beds was broken, which made it a bit uncomfortable for the person using it, but we managed. Overall, it was a great experience and I’d recommend this place for others looking for a cozy spot.

NIce industrial/loft setting, clean and well appointed. It was easy walking distance to restaurants and bars downtown. We enjoyed our stay and would stay at this location again.

Justin's place was perfect for my stay. It was downtown, skywalk accessible, close to event center, restaurants, grocery store, etc... The only thing that was confusing was getting in and finding the apartment. I'd never been there before. I got a little thrown off by the entry description: "When you enter the lobby you'll see the elevators behind a glass enclosed entrance. Go to the door and enter the passcode for access to the elevator." The elevator glass entrance actually uses an RFID keychain reader and the passcode given is used for the outside sidewalk entrance on the east side of the building. Then when I got to the floor off the elevator there are a bunch of blank doors (I assume this was an old hotel) that don't have any room numbers on them, so I was a little confused if I was in the right spot. I didn't walk far enough down the hall to realize that multiple rooms had been converted to apartments and that there are only about 3 doors on the floor that are used.
