We've stayed here twice with our extended family. Our kids have gotten used to fishing in the pond and roaming the grounds. This is a very special place, and the house itself is a historical landmark. The owners have done excellent work to keep the house updated while also preserving the period furniture and charm. Highly recommended, and we would certainly stay again.

This place is amazing! So comfortable so relaxing and beautiful! Harold is a fantastic host he was so helpful and friendly. I can’t say enough about the cottage. It’s exactly as pictured, the bed is so comfy.. the place was clean and fresh. You feel like you are in a forest all alone the windows are huge and you have woods all around.. at the same time you have internet and streaming along with restaurants and shopping within 15 minutes.. we literally didn’t want to leave. Can’t wait to go back!

The house is beautiful, inside kept very well, love the older furniture and the pool table at the entrance, bathrooms spotless, kitchen well equipped, lots of couches to rest, the outside windmill was an unusual sound when it was windy, but you could not hear it from the main bedroom, there were 2 large black super friendly dogs to welcome us the first day. Be careful if you have a low rider vehicle when you back up from the carport, the “lip” is tricky, only for low cars. Absolutely peaceful area, no traffic. It was a good stay. Thank you Melanie 😊

Billie's place is so adorable! The feel is very warm and inviting! It was very clean and although it is an older home it smelled clean and invigorating. The decor is as pictured and very well kept. The bedrooms are spacious with suitable closet space. The beds are more than comfortable and I could tell the bedding was thoughtfully selected, and clean. The amenities provided during the stay were adequate for two. The backyard was one of the many places I took advantage of as there is a charcoal grill for those that enjoy grilling and it is very spacious. The location is a short distance to downtown, JSU, and the grocery store. One thing of note would be the size of the bathroom as it is very small, but has great water pressure, very clean and well decorated. I would definitely recommend and look forward to booking again.

The house was very nice. Matched the pictures and descriptions. There were plenty of very nice towels. All the beds had nice pillows and linens. Plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The house was clean. We appreciated all the owner put into the house. She was very responsive and we had no issues. I would highly recommend her listing.

We really felt at home and Faye's place. She is so sweet and let us check in early since severe weather was coming and we were cycling in. The house is spacious with some beautiful details, like the gorgeous headboard in the master bedroom, and the master shower has an old-school shower head that provides strong flow to massage sore muscles at the end of the day! Faye left some snacks for us and even a brand-new flashlight and LED push light in case the power went out during the storm. We appreciated the full-sized washer and dryer, and Faye had detergent and spot remover too. This place is a block and a half from the Trace--so convenient--and Faye gave us recommendations for eating and shopping in town. There are restaurants in Bassfield that aren't on the map apps, and you can buy some produce at the Dollar General too, so know that Bassfield is a good stop on the Trace! We stayed two nights and biked to Prentiss and back as our day 3 cycling the Trace. Highly recommend.
