Lovely place for family and couples suits everyone

We had a fantastic bank holiday weekend staying in Michael’s beautiful and immaculately kept converted Victorian Railway carriage. The carriage is beautiful and very quirky both inside and out. It was very easy to find and recognise from Michael’s directions and pictures. It is set on the side of a quiet village road with a very large field/old orchard at the back, which our 2 dogs absolutely loved. There are also many long walks around the local area on your doorstep. The carriage is in a perfect location for easy access to the surrounding areas of Wisbech, Kings Lynn, Sandringham Palace(must see) and the many beaches around The Wash. Michael is a lovely gentleman and a great host, who popped by to say hello and have a quick chat. Making sure everything was ok and answer any questions we may have had. I highly recommend a stay in Michael’s railway carriage, as it’s a hidden gem and a great place to unwind!

It was simply amazing and such a privilege to stay in a converted Victorian carriage. It’s all very laid back and friendly and you are not interferes with in anyway but the hosts are easy to find if you need them. A must for a train lover. The carriage was clean and though fully furnished with the added luxury of fresh flowers and a welcome pack. We will definitely be recommending

The Railway Carriage is unique. It's so cozy and lovingly decorated, it really makes you feel welcome! The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. There is a huge outside area and parking right in front of the accommodation. A lot of interesting sights can be reached within short driving distance. Sam provided excellent information and was very helpful. Thank you for an utterly relaxing time!

We've had a lovely week in the train carriage. Long walks and days on the beaches, cream teas and great meals out. My teenage children even forgot about TV and Wifi and enjoyed lots of chess and board games, and star gazing after days out! If you want to switch off and have a relaxing week in a beautiful part of the Isle of Wight, this is the perfect stay. It's a little shabby chic, but full of charm and has everything you'll need - very cosy and lots of space for dogs to sniff and run around.

A little slice of heaven. The peaceful, tranquil and humble nature of the carriage is like a warm hug and makes life feel beautifully simple. Everything is thought of here by Graham and Pip from the games provided and the tea, coffee and sugar pots being lovely and full to the welcoming loaf of home made bread and a daily log delivery, also the fire being lit when we arrived was a gorgeous feeling. We had the most relaxing stay here and got to fully switch off spending hours just lazing around watching the sheep, chickens and cows mooch about their fields , there is WiFi here to stay intouch in with outside world but this charming spot is a perfect place to whittle away the hours playing cards, eating cheese and drinking wine. We had a lovely circular walk by the local canal and a lovely meal and the Lamb and Flag - the sherry trifle cheese cake is something I may never stop thinking about! Star gazing here from bed is divine!! 10/10 reccomend. Thankyou

Awesome railway carriage. Nick and his family where very friendly and welcoming. Tommy the horse and the the numerous dogs were also lovely. Local village very walkable, we visited the Morris dancer pub, which was very good, also the busy brewery next door! We loved it, loads of space, peaceful and we're looking for an excuse currently so we can return!!

Perfect location. Just and no more outside Norwich in a marvellous country setting. On site shop, cracking walkable pubs/restaurants for food. We stayed not the Norwich triathlon which was a 2 minute walk away.

Fantastic location and really quirky accommodation! It was very clean and while simple, had everything needed for the weekend. The joining instructions were really good with everything explained (and even links to videos to make life easy). Would definitely stay again

This converted train carriage is fun, magical, peaceful with fields, birds and nature all around! Wonderfully warm inside even when frosty outside, thanks to the wood burning stove (and a couple of electric heaters just in case). An easy walk to Blickley Hall which was very nice. Lovely local pub nearby too (Walpole Arms - and they do good food). easily possible to cook in the carriage, and the view from the breakfast bar in the morning was delightful. Pheasants everywhere! A very comfy and cozy bed - we'll be back, to enjoy it in the summer months!

The unique train carriage was a fabulous experience, it was situated in a beautiful place. Weather was terrible but that didn't stop us enjoying our surroundings. Next to the carriage was a pub that served breakfast, the food was amazing and convenient for the family, it's dog friendly too! The carriage does need a little tlc, but we found it pleasant and cosy. Would definitely stay here again. The host was very accommodating to our requirements. Big thank you Steve.

Fantastic getaway with beautiful surroundings! The weather when we visited was full sunshine so the sunset and views from the hut were stunning. The hut was clean, hot tub was amazing, and overall just a wonderful stay. Garden was very secure for our Labrador and he loved his stay too! Would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at the beautiful railway carriage! Lovely grounds , cosy pub on the corner and 20 minutes drive to Alton towers the next day. Can’t wait to return!

Spent a long weekend for family birthday. Captivating location. Beautiful property. Long walks very peaceful location. Despite 12 hour power cut we enjoyed marshmallows around the fire pit and playing cards surrounded by candle light. Can’t wait to return.

This place is incredible, we absolutely loved our two nights here. We enjoyed some lovely walks where we felt so relaxed and just enjoyed being outside and discovering. We loved the setting as it felt so clean and fresh. Annabel and her family have created such a beautiful space, and we have never stayed in a train carriage, so it is a great one to add to our list of travels! Annabel has thought of everything and we loved the decor and gifts/treats and left. Thank you again for a wonderful stay. We visited Cragside National Trust and thought that was amazing too (about 40 minutes away). Many thanks Annabel and family 😍

Our stay was simply perfect, peaceful, cosy, and had everything we needed. Pauline was very responsive, and so friendly and welcoming. The history of the wagon and work that has gone into restoring it is very impressive, and the attention to detail amazing. Really really recommend this place!

My husband and I had an amazing stay in Laura's quirky train carriage. The carriage was really cosy, eith lots of books , games and DVDs to keep us entertained. We had everything we needed and all the special touches were perfect. Would definitely recommend a stay in the train carriage, especially if you love trains. The location is great—around 15 minutes drive from York, yet tucked away in a peaceful village. It was the perfect blend of convenience and tranquility. The style of the place is unlike anything I've ever experienced! It's beautifully designed with unique, artistic touches that create an inviting and warm atmosphere. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the decor to the furniture, which made the stay feel truly special. A big shout-out to the host as well. They were so responsive, ensuring I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Their instructions prior to our stay made it all straight forward! Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a memorable and exceptional experience! I'll definitely be back!

Absolutely lovely place - quiet and private in beautiful surroundings, and a short drive into wonderful Shrewsbury. Rebecca provided an incredibly list of recommendations (we particularly enjoyed Ed's fine dining at home catering). Having the kitchen and bathroom (both well equipped) in the guardhouse was a great idea, as these didn't have to be squeezed into the beautiful train carriage, leaving more space to relax. Very, very highly recommended.

Staying on this old retro train was an unforgettable experience! We felt like royalty, surrounded by charm and luxury. The location in the Lake District was absolutely stunning, adding to the magic of the stay. Highly recommend for anyone looking for something unique and special!
