Silver's camp (Nshonji Camp) is my favourite place to stay for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. It is located right on the forest edge in a hidden valley - very close to the Rushaga gorilla tracking start point (10 minutes walk - closer than any other lodge/camp) but completely secluded and peaceful. It has excellent bird watching and you may also see squirrels, monkeys, sitatunga antelopes and if you are lucky a forest elephant! The camp has recently been completely upgraded - it now has electricity and fabulous ensuite rooms and a wildlife viewing platform. Great food and service. Any review written before 2022 needs to be ignored because the place is now completely different. If you are tracking gorillas at Rushaga or want a base for bird watching, nature, forest and more then please visit Silver's Nshonji Camp.

Nice room. We loved the staff and enjoyed staying in a place that also helps the community. The breakfast was good and available very early on our trekking days. We also had so much fun in the music dance program. The performing Women were talented.

A lot has been said about the stunning beauty of this place, the exceptional hosts, the wonderful staff and the exciting activities you can do here with your family. On top of all that, this is sustainable tourism at its best. With every dollar you spend here you help the local community as Kerry-Ann and Patrick strive to evolve hand in hand with the people who surround them. Honestly, what more can you ask for if you want to travel responsibly nowadays? Our stay was inspiring and gave us courage. All the best on your way and see you soon!

I recently found myself in the area while on a motorcycle trip around Rwanda, and I reached out to Colin for a place to stay as it was getting dark. Colin and his wife were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Upon my arrival, they gave me a lovely tour of their home, which was comfortable and inviting. I appreciated their hospitality and warmth—just what I needed after a long day on the road. I went to bed soon after and woke up early the next day, feeling refreshed and ready to hit the road again. I would highly recommend staying with Colin and his wife if you're in the area. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

petit Havre de paix au bord du lac Bunyonyi. un cadre parfait pour se ressourcer. L'eau chaude le soir est particulièrement appréciable. J'ai adoré ma cabane et la vie, la nourriture et la qualité du service au restaurant.

The Om Bunyonyi Hostel is in the most beautiful spot. If you’re looking for a simple, no frills place to relax and recharge in nature, this is where you need to go. I got upgraded to a cabin right on the lake as I was the only guest and enjoyed delicious homemade meals at reasonable prices as well as the bonfires every evening learning about local culture which Joseph and Andrew were keen to share their intel on. It hit the spot for me! Also, there’s a small library for locals on site so, fellow travelers, bring your books and leave them here. The only small criticism I have is that it would have been helpful to know explicitly that cash is king - it could have avoided trouble in paradise and a situation which could have been handled a bit better for all involved.

We are very grateful for the hospitality of Bernard, Regina, Alex, Allan and the family. We felt very welcome. We enjoyed the delicious food and it was nice to chat with everyone in the living room. Bernard took us to show us the tea fields and Alex helped us plan the Sabyinyo hike. Highly recommend staying here!

Much better than we initially expected. Wake up to the sounds of the iconic crested crane and the beautiful lake Bunyonyi, great sunrise and sunsets. Silas was on hand to keep us engaged and satisfied. Meals on point. Great place to unwind and detach from the fast lane.
