The Swiss House is an ideal retreat for families seeking a harmonious blend of comfort and connection. The expansive open-concept living area downstairs fostered a sense of togetherness, while the well-appointed kitchen made preparing family meals a breeze. Nestled away from the hustle, yet conveniently close to amenities, the house offers a perfect balance of privacy and accessibility. A quick drive to Mayflower Beach added to the allure, making our stay nothing short of delightful.

I came here in the dead of winter for a writer's retreat with a fellow writer- AND I WOULD DO IT AGAIN! It was a beautiful and inspiring place to write. Perched on Andover Lake, it was too cold to frolic outside but that was actually liberating. There was a rocking chair-ottoman combo in the master bedroom looking out on the lake and watching it freeze while I worked on some writing was so peaceful and perfect. When I needed to switch it up, there was a writer's desk with the same view and I can not overstate how nice and productive it was to work from it. I am sure in the summer it's a really fun stay (there were kayaks and a dock for swimming) but I actually loved being isolated in such an idyllic place. It's near a few other homes but the road was low traffic enough for a cold weather run around half the lake. Marcie was super helpful with suggestions for places to eat. We didn't actually use the recs - but that only speaks to how nice the house was and how hard it was to leave!

This was the perfect place for three friends who write and workshop together online to gather in person. The main room of the house is filled with light and what I didn't realize from the listing is the beautiful view from the living/dining room down to the river. The kitchen is well supplied and every room was very clean and uncluttered. The three bedrooms on the first floor are all very nice, with good beds and pillows (one is slightly larger with a king-sized bed), so we were able to decide on our rooms painlessly and none of us had to settle for an inferior room. The large dining table was perfect for spreading out our work as well as for dining, and one of us enjoyed having the furnished basement as her private work space. When we had a problem with hearing a beeping noise, which we initially thought might be a smoke detector battery that needed replacing, Bob was very responsive and helpful in figuring out the cause of the beeping from a motion detector. We plan to come again.

I had high expectations coming in, but this home exceeded them by far. The interior is spotless, the condition is great, you could see that the owners put a lot of effort into it with lots of nice little touches to improve utility and aesthetics. Eugeniya was super helpful the entire time, she and Rudy are awesome hosts. I want to point out that the location is also very nice. We liked the town, the restaurants, the beach (15-20 minutes drive), Mashpee Commons. Santuit pond is wonderful and provides some nice fishing spots. The big pleasant surprise was the Santuit Pond Reserve, it’s in walking distance and provides tons of great hiking opportunities. There are many other attractions nearby, I recommend visiting Heritage Museums & Gardens in Sandwich (20 minutes away). Overall we had the best time, I highly recommend this place!

We stayed at Lisa’s place for three nights and it was a 10/10 experience. Lisa was a fantastic host and was very helpful with island recommendations prior to our trip. The property itself is stunning and although we wanted to explore the island, the property also provided a beautiful landscape to just relax. Even given its private, peaceful location, it was still so convenient to town. The house is an adorable converted barn that has incredible, rustic charm and the decor was so beautifully thought out. Before we even left we were talking about booking again in the future. We definitely recommend booking here!

Wonderful cabin with a great host. The sun shining through the skylights in the afternoon was an unexpected delight. We would love to stay again!

We had a wonderful stay at Andrew's place. It was a perfect little getaway where we could unwind & just enjoy the scenery. We came in town to visit our Son who is a Freshman at Nichols College. We had some cold weather & rain but, we took full advantage of the firepit & sat out by the water enjoying the view. There were lots of things to do on the water that we can hopefully do when we visit again in warmer weather. This place was a wonderful spot for us to unwind & spend time with our boy! Andrew & Lora were super responsive & helpful for all of our needs. They went above & beyond to make sure our visit was perfect. Highly recommend this gem by the water!

Ames' spot was in an amazing location with beautiful views (and sunsets), great birding (literally from the living room sofa + porch, in addition to the various wildlife refuges nearby), and fun kayaking/paddle boarding from their dock with the supplied boating eqpt. Also a close drive to great beaches, hiking, restaurants, farms, and farmers markets/stands. House itself was great for family (inc. our toddler and her grandparents) and well stocked kitchen equipment was good for when we wanted to cook/bake. AC worked well (including on some high 80s/90+ days) but sliding door screens also nice for the cool ocean breezes. As a host, Ames was proactive + responsive (and even provided a gift card to the local cafe). I'm reaching here for critiques and I think the one thing to maybe add to the stocked kitchen eqpt. is a coffee grinder but overall, would highly recommend Ames' AirBnB!

The Compass Rose Cottage is a great choice for a cozy getaway!

We had a great stay at Robert's cottage. The lake views are beautiful, and the home was quiet, comfortable and private. Just a few minutes drive into Mystic for restaurants and shops. The hot tub was amazing. We felt right at home and can't wait to stay again. Thanks Robert!

Me and my friends decided to spend 2 days at Ann’s beautiful airbnb & we are heading back to Boston with the most beautiful memories. Ann is a friendly & trustworthy host. The house was exactly as shown in pictures & had all the amenities we needed. Situated on a beautiful lake & close to grocery stores, restaurants & other scenic places. We will be sure to visit again in the future. Thank you Ann , I hope we can visit again soon

Gorgeous little spot! Orange is also a very cute town with extremely nice locals. I had a nice time getting away from the city and finally seeing Celia’sspot, which has been on my Airbnb wishlist for a longtime.

This was the ideal location for my husband and me to spend the holidays with our family who live across the lake. Will and John gave us a warm, friendly welcome and Quinn also checked in to make sure we settled in and had everything needed for a comfy cozy stay. It was easy to communicate with everyone and the location felt peaceful and private but not isolated. I can't imagine a more ideal experience and cannot thank Quinn enough for making this stay the best ever we've had with Airbnb!

Place was very cute. Beds were comfy. Plenty of towels, blankets, pillows. Kitchen had everything we needed. We stayed in the winter so didn't take advantage of the yard but would have loved to use the kayaks or hang out by the water in warmer weather. Great little towns and restaurants to visit nearby and a waterfall a few houses down. Really enjoyed our stay.

If you are looking for simplicity (which we were) this is the perfect place to. I’ve always wanted to stay at a lake house. We couldn’t have asked for more. Serene, tranquil, beautiful are the proper descriptions of the house and the area. We came to Connecticut to visit my daughter and family and they ended up coming to our place instead. Jason was extremely helpful when needed. We would definitely stay there again!

I didnt want to leave this little cabin in the woods. It felt rustic but had all the modern amenities you would expect in a home. From the rocking chairs on the porch to the comfy beds, there is nothing I could complain about, even if I tried. Marilyn gave excellent suggestions of places to eat and local current events. We left with fall apples, bellies full of clam chowder, and gigantic smiles!!! We have already started planning our return!

Great find! Hidden cottage away from the road, with lots of space to sit indoors and outdoors. Master bedroom spacious but missing blinds, make sure to bring an eye mask if you want to sleep in! Enjoyed our stay!

I really liked all the outdoor activities my daughter and I did! Karen let us borrow the games inside the cabinet and they were pretty interesting. There's a lot of beds, and they are all comfortable. I really like the view when we were sleeping on one of the bed because you can see the lake when the sun sets or rises. It's really beautiful and I really liked spending time on the canoe and having this vacation! My family and I loved coming here and hope that we can come again. This was our 2nd time staying at Brian's place, the home is perfect for a larger group and has so many toys for the kids, they LOVED it! Everything is very clean, and the kitchen has all the pots/pans needed for cooking. In Feb there was so much snow we got to go sledding in the front yard, and a few from our group made the trip to Stratton for the day. We love going to Wilmington for coffee/lunch. Planning to be back again in 2026!

We had a fabulous time! Can't wait to come back. Was equally perfect for two toddlers as it was for four adults! Beautiful property, amazing hot tub, comfortable beds, great kitchen... everything was lovely.

Such a cozy spot!! A warm cabin nestled in the woods with a gorgeous lake, kayaks and canoes, and a waterfront sauna that is absolutely heavenly. Angela was super responsive and kind, and we hope to be back soon!

We were looking for a quiet, cozy, and private weekend with the exception of a concert at Foxwoods (about 10 miles away). Tim's cabin was the perfect fit for us. The cabin was as described. Tim was very accommodating. The setting is beautiful. A great getaway location close enough to either of the casinos if that's your interest. Looking forward to going back in the future.
