Buen lugar, comodo y confortable en Yelapa

Kathy and Rulon were fantastic hosts, they were very responsive and proactive about recommendations. The property is beautiful, 10 out of 10. We visited the small towns of Corrales, Mayto, and Tehualmixtle to swim, snorkel (Rulon and Kathy shared their snorkeling gear), and eat food. The food everywhere is amazing, you can’t go wrong. We rented 4wheelers from a local in Tehualmixtle and rode around the beaches, and we zip lined on the property. A few tips: Your rental vehicles need to be 4 wheel drive. Pick up pesos in Puerto Vallarta, you can exchange $USD in some of the local restaurants but PV is easier. Touch up on your Spanish, this is very rural Mexico where the locals speak practically zero English. Pick up some grocery staples in PV for your stay, especially meats, the local abarrotes will only have limited groceries. You won’t have cell service so download any music, maps, etc Our trip was fantastic, we can’t recommend this property and the area enough.

We absolutely loved staying here. We stayed an extra night and would have stayed longer and not gone to the hotel we had booked if it wasn’t already booked! The house manager Alex is incredibly helpful!! He knows many people in town and was able to help us while we stayed there with whatever we needed and also afterwards, when we were staying at a hotel and needed help! The bathroom and kitchen was beautiful and clean, the bed was super comfortable and the location is peaceful and convenient! We appreciate how the doors are soundproof for if it was noisy outside, which wasn’t often. We definitely plan to return! Muchisimas gracias por todo!!!

Israel and Erika were wonderful hosts! They were very welcoming and very thoughtful. We have stayed in Mayto for several years and never rented a place with a kitchen, much less a beautiful kitchen like this one! This was a huge plus for us: having a place to cook fish my husband caught on the beach was fantastic. We also loved the very comfortable bed, the view of the ocean, and the proximity to the gorgeous Mayto beach (just a quick walk down the hill!). We were impressed with the Internet speeds in the middle of nowhere! We had a wonderful stay and didn’t want to leave. In fact we accidentally almost stayed an extra night (mix up with our calendar) and Israel was totally gracious about our mistake. This is a really nice house for a rural area!

I cannot say enough good things. The view is incredible, the location is amazing, and the people are even better. Yelapa is magical, and everyone at MiraMar was so welcoming. Take an excursion while you’re there. We went snorkeling, saw dolphins and whales up close, and ate the best seafood of our lives—all in one trip.

We felt super lucky to be staying here in Yelapa. The property was really spacious, in the perfect location and we had the Miranda team to hand if we had any questions. The balcony is incredible and the extra communal roof terrace means everything is just easy if you need to wait or check out before your boat. Thank you!!!!

Special place to stay and see the amazing sights when the tours are gone. We spent hours in the morning alone at the waterfall. The house is basic, but comfortable and the hosts are very kind. We look forward to returning.

We had a wonderful time staying at Mira mar! Kendra was very responsive, everyone was so friendly. The place was beautiful with amazing views. The wifi worked well for my husband, who had to work remotely. Noise wasn’t a problem for us, and we slept really well in the comfortable bed. We will definitely be back!

Stunning, remote and private location. House is gorgeous with views you don’t want to leave again. The main living space is always outdoors. Kitchen is fully functional but basic. Two large bedrooms with AC plus a smaller office. Shop in PV or ask Ricardo and family to cook for you. You are quite remote so shopping is limited.

We loved this special place and will be back as soon as possible. The staff are amazing, the views are incredible and we walked away from this lovely 5 day vacation feeling relaxed and grateful to have found such a gem!

I recently did a solo retreat at Pura Vida Resort, and it was exactly what I was looking for. The resort’s breathtaking location, nestled between the ocean and mountain jungle, offers a perfect balance of simplicity and nature. The salt-water pool is great for daytime relaxation, and the hot tub is ideal for stargazing. The open-air dining area provides stunning jungle and ocean views, and if you’re lucky, you might spot a whale or two. The kitchen staff prepares delicious Mexican meals, including a freshly made breakfast, and the juice bar offers refreshing smoothies. The yoga sala, with its ocean and mountain views, provides a serene space for practice. While the resort is a bit further from town and the beach, the rocky pathways add charm, and waves may occasionally reach the walkways—at most, you might get your feet wet. The friendly and attentive staff made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone seeking rejuvenation, connection, and natural beauty.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Villa Buen Palo and fell in love with Angelica, Raul, the dog Nico, and the cats. The mansion was incredible and our room was spectacular. It was serene, quiet, comfortable and right off the hiking path that we hiked many of the days. You can get water taxis that take your right to the dock or walk 10-15 minutes into Boca or head to any of the awesome and beautiful beaches the other direction. We will be back and we highly recommend this place. Angelica and Raul are well known and have a lot of connections which was helpful. If you stay, make sure to walk to Stephanie’s restaurant which is a family owned spot right off the hiking trail in Boca. Can’t wait to go back. Thanks mi amigos :)

Lo pasamos increíble, el departamento es hermoso, y la decoración nos encanto, decoracion colorida y esculturas bellísimas, lo mejor, tiene vistas increíbles! lo encontramos impecable, el personal de seguridad y el staff todos muy serviciales. Es un lugar muy tranquilo y familiar. Las albercas templadas, en excelentes condiciones, tienen estacionamiento, wifi, televisión con cable, buenas amenidades. Nota: no hay A/C ni mini split, solo abanicos en el techo, el clima es perfecto ahora (marzo) pero creo que si será un poco difícil para quienes se hospeden en verano con el calor.

Lugar impecable, bonito y tranquilo. Cuenta con todo lo que menciona, pero el pueblo es bastante chico, por lo que recomiendo llevar suministros para comer o preparar ahí, ya que no hay muchos lugares para comer cerca entre semana.

El llegar a Chonchos es toda una aventura, hay que llegar a Boca de Tomatlán con una horita mínimo de anticipación para guardar el coche y tener en el muelle todo listo, porque al llegar el water taxi se llena en un instante y si se te va (solo pasa 2 veces al día) no hay de otra que pagar una lancha privada $$$. Después de poco más de una hora y de unos hermosos paisajes hasta llegar a chonchos te das cuenta de que vale la pena la odisea. Una vista increíble, una playa tranquila y una cabaña con todo lo necesario para pasarla genial, hay que planear bien las provisiones porque allá o pides a Josefat (el encargado)con mucha anticipación o prepárate para una caminata de 2 horas (ida y vuelta) hacia Chimo el pueblo más cercano, nosotros lo hicimos y es muy pesado pero tiene unas vistas impresionantes. Angie es una gran anfitriona, siempre estuvo en contacto para asesorarnos paso por paso y muchas gracias por el detalle, nos la pasamos genial y fuimos muy felices en tu hermoso lugar.

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful place. Rafael was amazing and very helpful. He helped us get taxis, told us great things to do and very knowledgeable about the area. The apartment is close to the water taxis witch we used to go over to Yelapa for the day. Definitely recommend!

We loved this place! It was in the very best location in Yelapa to enjoy the beautiful views. Judy met us at a restaurant near the pier to show us to the home, which was only a minute walk. The home is so very cool! All open to the outside except the bedroom, which was so comfortable. We would highly recommend and we hope to be back!

Muchísimas gracias a Daniel Un tema solo de el traslado hay que considerar que lleva algo de tiempo trasladarse de el boca a playa los Chonchos y genera un costo extra de 3k adicionales y en el viaje si es posible apresurarse a abordar el water taxi por que se llena muchísimo al menos fue en Semana Santa pero dentro de lo que cabe la estancia es perfecta para desconectarse de la ciudad y disfrutar de un lugar con vistas perfectas, estancia maravillosa y si es recomendable llevarse todo lo que cada uno vaya a utilizar, josephat súper atento al recibirnos, estamos muy agradecidos. Claro que volveremos

Very cool place, beautiful view, swinging bed is awesome, rooftop access was killer. very minor issues I think can be resolved, the hot water shower is a bit janky and very very tough not to either freeze or literally scald yourself... probably needs a bit of tweaking. to get to the town area of yelapa you do usually need to wade through waist high water so that is worth mentioning (kind of. hassle at 9 pm with little guidance...). totally a great place though would definitely stay there again. maybe pack some earplugs for roosters (not their problem :p). very very responsive host and was very satisfied!

Wow, Yelapa is such a dream. Upon arriving here you immediately feel like you've found you're own little beach side paradise. Anita and her family were so welcoming and responsive and we felt right at home. I will note that if you are a sensitive sleeper BRING EAR PLUGS as the house is right on the road and the ATVs start cruising by pretty early in the morning. Definitely was not anywhere near a dealbreaker for us, but something to note.

Honestly one of the most unique and private stays we have ever had. The place was immaculate and beautiful and open to the ocean. It was incredible. We had all surrounding beaches to ourselves our entire stay. The host was helpful in arranging transport and extra groceries for us! Definitely for the adventurous. Jumping out of a boat into waves on arrival, hikes up and down terrain to the beaches (not more than 10 minutes). Just short of an hour hike to town where typical groceries are scarce (so bring what you need). Great restaurant in town and very friendly locals. Be prepared for some extra fees. We paid 200 pesos to cab from PV, 400 pesos to water taxi from Boca to Chonchos, 500 pesos tip at the end of the stay, another 500 for a donkey ride into Chimo to catch the boat back. The locals charge another 100 just to row you out to the taxi and then you pay the same amount to come back into the mainland. I would pay that all again for this incredible experience! Must visit!!
