We had an amazing stay here! The cabin is nestled high up in the woods, very quiet and peaceful. The hot tub and back deck are great, and the inside is comfy & cozy with wood pellet stove, a well stocked kitchen, nice L shaped couch and tv, and lots of little amenities that make it stand out. Note that this property is located in Pierpoint, CA. If you like hiking or walks in nature, this cabin is only 30 minutes drive to the great views at Dome Rock and 45 minutes drive to Trail of 100 Giants. If you want to drive further south than that into Sequoia National Forest, I'd recommend an AWD/4WD vehicle for the windy pot hole roads, or stay closer to Kernville/Wofford/Lake Isabella. We enjoyed seeing the deer almost everyday at this cabin. Alex and Jake were responsive and fantastic hosts! Highly recommend.

We had good time with family of 5 adults and 2 children for three nights. It was raining and snowing outside so could not go out much for hiking. We had lots of games in the house to play with family together. Might be good to come in the summer for other outside activities in the National Forest.

Very nice, lots of space in personal character. You feel like you are at a home, not a place calibrated for renting, which we like. Great jacuzzi. And super quiet, calm and relaxing and yet very close to the Saloon and Sportsman (my Fav).

Beautiful house and property. My group varied in age from 82-3, everyone loved their stay. Plenty of room for us all and a ton of things to do for the kids. The property was perfect for exploring. The grounds beautifully maintained, spring flowers in bloom everywhere. Pictures don’t do it justice. Kids felt they were in the middle of the wilderness, pretty accurate. Thank you so much for welcoming our family. We built memories to last a lifetime. My people are already trying to plan to come back.

This place was by far one of the nicest put together places my wife and I have stayed in our travels, One of the things that stood out was attention to detail with all the decor. One thing that was a added bonus was the stag tree was within walking distance of the house, all of the old growth trees around the house was fantastic. Great stay would absolutely recommend!!

This place was better than described. I'm sure the creek by the house varies in size depending on time of year, but we lucked out. The creek was full and the sound of the water was so lovely, especially to sleep to. You also had views of the lake from the house, and just a quick drive to get to it. The house is great. I love the MCM vibes, and appreciated the matching decor. We spent most of our time on the big screened in deck. We ate all our meals out there, and enjoyed coffee and cocktails. Loved the hot tub, which heated up quickly. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms had nice touches, like cordless charging lamps. We really enjoyed our stay, and my friend is planning her next trip already. We also really appreciated an easy check out. Some rentals really ask you to do too much at checkout, along with a hefty cleaning fee you've already paid. Would recommend booking this place.

We had the best time staying at Birdies cabin. Myself, my husband and our two children were blown away when we arrived. Everything at the cabin exceeded our expectations. I have to say a huge thank you to Birdie for your quick responses and advice. I would highly recommend birdies cabin. The views are incredible, the kids loved the giant connect 4 and the smores station you set up! We are on a once in a lifetime American road trip with the family, but I would absolutely love to return again in the future. Thank you so much xx

So glad we booked this beautiful cabin! As two couples on a US road trip, it was just perfect! We stayed for a couple of days, loved the river, the sound of frogs in evening, the walks, the giant Sequoias, the local eateries and shops - literally everything was perfect. Thanks Rod - we want to come back!!

Charming cabin situated in a sequoia forest community. Kathe was flexible, friendly and attentive. Our family thoroughly enjoyed every moment. We’ll be back!

Katy‘s place is beautiful, I loved the decor. It was very charming but cozy at the same time. Stunning mountain view’s and peaceful surroundings. You can even see the river from the wraparound deck. My dog loved the yard and I especially loved the hammock! We’ll be back for sure.

Perfect place to get out in the wilderness and stargaze at night. It is far away enough to feel like a vacation, but close enough to visit the mountains and lake. John (the host) was very nice and helpful. The house was very cute and clean and pre-heated by our host :) The beds were comfy and the linens were clean. We had a wonderful time exploring the property and Al (our dog) had a blast running and rolling around in the yard. Great getaway!

This house is the cutest place to stay if you’re in the Kern area. The attention to detail is incredible and it was squeaky clean. The sauna is such a nice touch for relaxation and the upstairs loft was so dreamy.

Loved the place. I love big windows and seeing the woods, was perfect. The neighborhood was so quiet, even on New years eve! Its a nice spot if you want to relax do a little bit of walking. We were blessed to have enough snow to play with, some surrounding areas were none. We had the whole area to our selves to play with snow. The kitchen was fully stock with the exception of a cupcake pan, but I took my own just in case. The 2 coffee makers is a plus, take coffee beans or kcups, love the options. The cabin maintained us warm throughout our stay. I highly recommend this place. Very spacious and beautiful surroundings.

Lisa’s cabin was absolutely perfect for a quick, peaceful family getaway. It is even cozier and nicer than the photos suggest! We arrived in the evening and Lisa was great about giving us clear check in instructions. We made smores by the fire and woke up to a magnificent view on a crisp mountain morning. I was thankful Lisa mentioned the waffle maker — I brought ingredients for waffles and it was my first time making them. My kids loved them! We took family walks around Camp Nelson and saw Soda Springs, then went all the way to Nelson trailhead which is also walking distance from the cabin. One thing I would tell future guests is to bring groceries, bc the two general stores nearby weren’t well stocked when we visited in April (maybe they are during high tourist season?). That said, we appreciated the cabin had a lot of essentials including coffee beans and a grinder. We would absolutely return. Thanks for being a lovely host, Lisa!

Cozy place only 30 minutes away from Trail of 100 giants! The cabin was peaceful even with a few other houses in the area. Loved the patio overlooking the stream!

This cabin is beautiful. It has AMAZING views and was exactly as pictured. Honestly the cabin felt bigger than pictured. It was very open and spacious. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. If you are unfamiliar with the drive up the mountain I recommend driving during the day vs at night. We had a great stay and hope to come back soon.

Loved our stay at Greg’s place! Had all we needed for a family of four, areas of the home are well thought out! Just enough snow near the home for the kiddos to stay busy for hours, plus a porch area and grill! Perfection!

One of the best cabins in the mountains. Clean and super comfortable, very well stocked, with plenty of games for when the weather is not great. Christoper is very friendly and responded immediately to our messages. We felt right at home and we would gladly come back.

Beautiful place with lots of amenities and things to do. We stayed at the Playhouse and it was charming. Loved the water supply. Be prepared for the bees while eating by the benches but we are in the middle of the forest so expected. John was friendly and funny. Worth a visit and would come back here camping!

I had an awesome time at The Outpost. The place was super clean, comfy, and had everything I needed. The host was friendly and quick to respond, which made the whole experience even better. One of my favorite parts was the beautiful view from the patio. It really made the stay feel special. Plus, the location was perfect—hidden away in the mountains, peaceful and quiet. I’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a great getaway trip from the city. I’d totally book again!

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy retreat! The scenic drive leading up to the property was breathtaking, and it’s just a short walk to a peaceful creek. We enjoyed spotting deer, hearing birds chirp, and watching squirrels in the area – such a nice touch of nature. The place was exactly as described – warm, comfortable, and equipped with all the amenities we needed. The patio and deck provided the perfect spot to relax outdoors. It was incredibly tranquil and peaceful, ideal for a getaway. Just a heads-up: you'll need to take your trash with you, as there's no onsite disposal. Highly recommend for a restful escape!
