This was our little home away from home while my son and I visited my daughter. Allison was super responsive!! She contacted us to see if we needed a cot and whether we preferred coffee or tea. Our basket of snacks was a nice touch! We enjoyed our stay!

We spent a long weekend at Lisa’s place and it was central to all we wanted to do. A few miles to the beach, a restaurant she recommended, and a few miles from downtown too. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again!

This is a fantastic unit for a couple (or best friends!) retreat. The location is perfect - directly across the street from beach entrance, walking distance to great coffee shops, local ice cream, surf shops, brewery, food, convenience stores, and more! I liked the house was at the end of a cul-de-sac so no traffic on the street. The host is very friendly and responsive with great directions. Check in/out was hassle free. I will definitely be coming back for a long weekend getaway!

My family and I had a wonderful stay in OBX and Michaela’s beautiful home made our stay even better! The house is even more beautiful in person, super clean, and very convenient for our stay. The beach is only a 4min drive and she even recommended parking for the beach. The bay is at a walking distance, definitely loved walking there every morning after a nice cup of coffee. Michaela was an amazing host, she was wonderful with instructions and quick to respond. We will definitely be staying again in the future!

This year’s stay in Kitty Hawk was an eventful one, and my hosts went above and beyond to keep me both comfortable and safe. With the arrival of the large snowfall and the frigid temperatures, they provided me an extra heater in case of need, and shoveled me a walkable path from the bungalow door to my car. For their kindness, on top of so many reasons I continue to return to the Retreat: cleanliness, comfort, space enough to work from and relax in, proximity to local amenities (food, shops, etc.), to the beach, and to walking/hiking spots, and for the peaceful surroundings, I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to recommend their sweet place for a stay.

I enjoyed my stay. I appreciated the full size refrigerator and fully stocked kitchen. The WiFi worked fast and there was always hot water! I will say that the bed is very firm to the point that I felt like I was practicing planking. By the 2nd night I couldn’t take it and got a foam mattress cover which solved that issue. I know some ppl prefer firm mattresses so I’m sharing for awareness. Other than that, everything was nice, quiet and very comfortable.

Great attention to detail, both on the finishing and fixtures of the place. Amenities provided were perfect for our 4 day-3 night get away-beach passes, chairs and bikes, coffee filters and coffee, some spices, perfect supply of dishes and meal prep utensils. Luxury towels and ironed sheet turnover, comfy beds. Quiet, safe neighborhood. Will use your place again for a partial week/small group need.

Jessica's communication was awesome and she is a fantastic host overall. The apartment is very nice and the location is also great as longa s you don't mind walking-- about a 10 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute walk to the Duck boardwalk. Lots of shops right nearby within a 5 minute walk too. The only caveat I'd say for the unit is it's not ideal for traveling with a toddler (which is no fault of the host nor really a negative in and of itself-- not every unit needs to be). The windows of the 2nd bedroom are south facing and we had a hard time getting it dark enough for nap time even with our own blackout curtains, and there are about 20 steps to walk up to the 2nd floor unit. The open floor plan is great, but also makes it a little hard to toddler proof. Again, not a negative, but just something to be aware for families traveling with young kids.

Mary and Larry were wonderful hosts! The apartment was extremely clean, the atmosphere was very welcoming, and the neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. (We stayed in October.) Mary and Larry struck the perfect balance as hosts - they respected our privacy but were ready to sit and talk out by the fire pit when we were feeling friendly. We had car trouble while we were with them and they were eager to help out in any way they could and gave us a ride to pick up the car when it was done. We would definitely stay with them again if we got the chance!

This place is absolutely amazing! This was our second time staying here, and once again, it was spotless. The space looks exactly like the pictures—beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. We loved the amenities; it truly felt like a home away from home, especially with the fully equipped kitchen. The central location made it easy to explore and discover some fantastic restaurants nearby. The hosts were incredibly hospitable, always ensuring our comfort and making sure we had a great experience. They even left us a personalized note and a bottle of wine, remembering our previous stay—such a thoughtful touch! This place is quickly becoming a tradition for us, and we’ll definitely be back. I highly recommend it—100%!

Lovely carriage house on large and private property, very quiet and peaceful. Nikki's home is elegant and delightful. When we arrived it was set up for our arrival with the most romantic and dreamy lighting with music, my husband and I were both delighted!! The apartment style carriage is well decorated with tasteful art and antiques. Nikki and her family were the perfects hosts, ensuring everything we (and our pups) needed during our extended stay. 100% would recommend to anyone traveling in the area, you will be well looked after by Nikki.

True to its name. It is on the smaller side but as peaceful as it looks. the place was clean, well kept, and was Helen was always just a quick text away. Would definitely go again and would recommend.

Monica was very friendly and helpful. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and seemed truly invested in making sure we enjoyed our stay and had a great visit to the OBX! Her place was very clean and just right for our needs, would return!

I loved our stay at Jess & Derik’s cute apartment. The decor was trendy, artsy and cool making it feel very cozy and comfortable. Also very clean! Mom’s sweet shop right downstairs with smoothies and snacks was very charming too. The location is perfect, very close to the beach and the hosts kindly offered beach chairs with the stay, which was very nice! I would definitely come back again for a stay and to visit the cute shop!

Erica's cozy apartment was perfectly situated and exactly what we needed for a sisters' getaway- walking distance from Jockey's Ridge State Park and lovely hiking trails, minutes drive to the pier and local restaurants with delicious food and friendly staff and less than an hour from several historic sites along the Sound. The best part of our stay there was returning from our explorations every night to take a soak in the hot tub under the cold clear starry skies.

Loved! This was one of the best OBX airbnbs we’ve stayed in. We travel there often. LeAnne was very accommodating to my delayed check in because of a hail storm. Good people! They have a top notch studio for a quick trip. Bed is super comfortable and loved the hot tub!! I am so glad I decided to get a place with a hot tub. I think there were people staying upstairs, because of cars but never heard them. It was quiet and the neighbor is also quiet. We will try to get this place again! Thank you!

Pat and Chuck were nothing but excellent! They were great with communication, responding almost immediately every single time. The welcome to their place made you feel very comfortable. Everything was so tidy and clean, hosts were so thoughtful with leaving little items in the room for guests to use. We would absolutely love to stay at their place again!

Atrim’s place was perfect for our quick, relaxing getaway! The Oasis apartment was very clean, refreshing, and boasted a “spa like” atmosphere filled with a soul healing aroma! The only thing missing was a personal masseuse! Highly recommend!

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for Valentine’s Day weekend and it did not disappoint. I loved the vibe of the place as soon as we walked in. Nicki had calm music on and accent lighting all over the room, it was a very modern at home feel and we did not want to leave. We stayed in most of the time but we did go out and enjoy the area. We will definitely be returning here in the future!👍🏽

Wave Haven was a great place to stay in OBX. There is a walking path nearby that leads to a nearby Gazebo that is perfect to watch the sunset from. The place itself was great with a fully functional high end kitchen and the hot tub was a highlight.
