I stayed in Vivenda Dos Palhacos for 6 nights in January and I truly wished it had been more. It was a real joy to stay in a heritage home but particularly this one hosted by Simon and Charlotte. I stayed in the Ballygunge room which had a seriously comfortable four poster bed. What I loved was the gathering for meals / drinks and the amiable atmosphere generated by the hosts and wonderful staff. It’s a cliche to say it has an ‘old world charm but that’s exactly it. Service at all times was excellent with care and good humour. Guests also have the option to dine out and received good advice on local restaurants. The beach is not far away - one of the staff dropped me on the first day but I cycled on other days. A highlight was having a cocktail in the evening before dining - I was particularly lucky in joining other guests who were immensely warm and entertaining. As a female , solo traveller , I felt very well supported- but it’s for everyone. I highly recommend it. Enjoy!

Our group of 8 adults and 3 babies from Australia and Canada had the most amazing time at Simons place. The house is incredible, full of history in every nook and cranny and beautifully furnished with antiques. The staff including Sagar, Clinton, Winston and Moni the chef plus everyone else were very friendly, always attentive and accommodating, and went above and everyone to make us feel at home. One day it rained all the entire day and our group was actually grateful to stay in and enjoy the house and hospitality. Sagar took us to the local market to buy ingredients and the chef Moni put on a cooking masterclass for everyone that was interested, followed by and incredible meal enjoyed by all. Lastly, Simon and Priti took us to the local doctor when one of the babies was sick and arranged the appointment on our behalf. They also spent a night having a few drinks and a lot of laughs which made the trip very special. Thank you so much 🙏

We absolutely loved our stay- it’s overall character, literature, art, service, food and the cutest pets are to thank. Simon was very organised and quick to respond to our queries.

We had a blast at Vivenda dos Palhacos! The place is picture perfect beautiful, we had 2 different rooms during our stay (starting in an a/c tent nestled into the far end of the garden, which was magical, followed by Konnagar Room, which was majestic). An amazing place with a super friendly and helpful owner, wonderful staff who took great care of all our needs. Lots of great local food and beaches all in walking distance. We rented a scooter for a couple of days (arranged through the staff) which gave us great mobility in the vicinity. We embraced every minute of our stay and will be back. Guaranteed!

I’ll be repeating other reviewers. A really magical place, lively little town and location. Staff cannot do enough for you and are deeply charming. Gorgeous interiors and perfect everything. Must love dogs and cats, which we do, but be aware of that! We will certainly be back next year and I want to say something bad to keep people away, but I can’t truthfully do so.

This place is clean and easy to get around from, close to beach, great pool and staff. Certainly value for money

We were very satisfied with that very beautiful and cozy place and very friendly service in this magic place of the beach of Palolem, even we had a lot of rain these days. I only can recommend to have a stay here, thanks for everything and we are hoping to come back one time!

Awesome stay as I was expecting it...Place just matched the vibe. Staff were very friendly. Food was also really good at the cafe...Already looking forward to staying again.

מיקום מעולה על הים (חוף סלעי, אי אפשר להיכנס, אך הנוף מהמהם, חוף פאטנם השקט והנעים במרחק כמה דקות הליכה), אפשר לשבת במרפסת בשקט אל מול הגלים המתנפצים. מקום נקי ומטופח מאוד - לא ראינו עוד כזאת רמה במקומות אחרים. הרבה צמחייה מטופחת. אוכל מעולה וברמה מצויינת. חדרים נעימים וממוזגים אך מעט קטנים. שירותים ואמבטיה ברמה בינונית, מקלחת עם סגירה חלקית. מה שבעיקר זה המקום המטופח והלוקיישן על הים! !!

The place is a hidden gem, paradise for those who wish to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Everything about the place is specially handpicked and placed to give it a surreal experience and feel. The staff are extremely courteous and very warm. We will definitely be coming back.

Very good

This is a new hotel. Nicely done. Location is good specially if you have work around Madkai, etc. The lift is to be installed. Otherwise it's a great place. I will definitely stay here again
