Stayed in early March 2025. J and G provided a very comfortable home-like feel in this beautiful location overlooking the beach, which is about a 10-minute walk down the hill. The views out the back window to the east are beautiful, and the central living area is very usable, with a deck attached and plenty of windows to soak in the views. The location is within a 30-minute drive of central Christchurch. We should have stayed longer than two days here!

What great hosts. Best airbnb ever. Absolutely loved this home away from home. Justine and Baz had thought of everything. It would have been very easy to stay in and just enjoy the view and surroundings. The furnishing paid attention to every detail, the bed to die for, all the appliances A+, the outdoor relaxing and bbq facilities excellent. The tea,coffee and breakfast cereal an excellent choice. Relaxing at night on a big luxurious couch with great TV and internet, after riding our bikes all day was just another plus. I could just go on and on. It was just awesome far better than any 5 star+ hotel or motel. Can't wait to return when the locals finish the biking/walking track around the lake. thank you again Jill and Kevin.

Very nice place. I could hear the ocean clean and modern

I absolutely loved this accommodation. It was listed as a partial ocean view, but just ten steps outside, a breathtaking full ocean view unfolded before me. The bed, bathroom, and kitchen were all spotless, and the cozy interior design added to the charm. Now I completely understand why this place has such high ratings. In fact, the photos on the listing don’t do it justice—it’s even better in person. If I visit Kaikoura again, I will definitely stay here again!

Robert’s place is great for a getaway to explore the west coast of the South Island. It has everything you need. The views are stunning and the place is very quiet and peaceful. The house was sparkling clean and everything worked to perfection. Robert is a great host and we can highly recommend his place.

Beautiful house . Peaceful location and very private . Place looks exactly like the photos . Huge space . The kitchen is huge with a nice barstool table . Bathrooms and bedrooms were clean . Clean towels . Steve is proactive in communications and very fast responses if you ask him anything . We had only one night here but loved it . Thanks Steve .

We appreciated the detailed instructions how to get inside and where to park. The place was comfortable and the layout was nice. Loved the ocean views! It's newly built and was very clean. We felt right at home there. Not too far from Pancake Rocks, about 30 minutes. Also about 30 minutes from the WC Treetop Walk. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much.

There were three of us staying for three nights. Wish we would have stayed longer. This is a fabulous house, full stop. If it's available for the days that work for your travel schedule, do yourself a favor and book it. The views are great from the decks, and it's such a peaceful place. It's an easy drive into Christchurch and convenient for exploring nearby areas like Sumner and Akaroa. The house was new, large, tastefully decorated, and super clean. Communications with Viv were excellent and replies were prompt. Check-in and check-out were super easy too. This house is a 10/10.

Stunning waterfront location - really enjoyed how close it was to Sumner and surrounding cafes. Clean and comfortable.

the house was in a beautiful peaceful location, with an amazing view of lake pukaki, and had a very spacious and well equipped kitchen. there was also a lovely golden retriever that came to visit us every evening. however, the wooden floorboards/ walls are quite creaky and thin so you do hear everything at night if someone moves around, and the host did take a while to reply when we asked her questions. overall still a wonderful stay and worth booking!
