We stayed one night at Anne and Peter’s Johnville Guest House. We were driving from Nova Scotia and making our way home to Niagara Region. It was great to meet both Anne, upon arrival, and Peter, when we departed. They are both very personable and gracious hosts. Their Guest House is a true oasis of peace and quiet. We truly appreciated the setting of the house among the rolling farmland, the fresh air, and tranquility. Anne and Peter’s Guest House is beautifully decorated and very well-appointed. It was sparkling clean! We had everything that we needed and felt right at home. We will definitely stop here on another trip to Atlantic Canada. Wow, what an absolutely amazing stay. We totally lucked out finding the Beaver Dam Came up for the 2024 eclipse and had a fantastic visit. Not only was the AirBnB amazing, but the town went all out with activities and everyone we spoke with was SO friendly. Our only regret is that we can't travel back in time to visit the Beaver Dam when it was operating as a pub! Loved the photo album of people enjoying the pub and would have loved to be among them. what a unique stay. We hope to come back again and would highly recommend to others. thank you for making our once in a lifetime experience even more memorable!

The cottage location in front of the river and the forest is breathtaking. The place spacious, and warm and offers plenty of boardgames for the family. The beds are very comfy and linen smell so fresh. The spa is wonderful too ! We absolutely loved our stay and have already booked another weekend in the Fall. Thank you so much, Stacey and Brian, for helping our family when the road conditions were not good!

Lovely place to stay! Very quiet country setting yet still close to town. Yummy baked goods left for us to enjoy!

We had a great time at Tina’s place. Her hospitality is above and beyond. There were many thoughtful touches everywhere you look. Comfy bed and soft pillows. The setting is beautiful, peaceful and private as well as spacious. Perfect place to relax after a long day of exploring. Can’t wait to return. Thank you Tina for sharing your gem by the lake side!

Was perfect for what we needed, a quiet place to spend our evenings while we explored the area and visited family 🙂 Hosts were very quick to get back to us with answers to our questions. We had a great stay!

We had a wonderful stay! Pam was amazing, went over and above to give us information of Local things to do, checked in to be sure things were going well and the breakfast left for us was a wonderful added touch! Would definitely recommend!

We had a relaxing weekend with an amazing view! We loved the cottage, the surrounding nature and seeing all the wildlife just outside our door. Tina and Chad were excellent hosts, they were proactive, able to answer our questions and even lend us a hand with an amenity. I would recommend The Buck Stops Here to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in nature. The cottage is good for a group of adults and has everything one might need for children as well :)
