We spoke to Janice a few times whilst we were at the cottage. Janice was lovely, extra friendly and very accommodating. We’ve visited previously and will be back very soon.

The house was incredibly comfortable and super clean. The bedding, including the duvet and pillows, was exceptionally cozy and made our stay very warm and pleasant. The host personally greeted us upon arrival and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend this place!

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Laal Cwtch and it didn’t disappoint. Fleur and John always go above and beyond to make you feel welcome with a friendly message and treats! amazing stay! we stayed as a group of friends and had a lovely time at Elisabeth’s home. It was a super cute, warm and cosy house, which was very clean and had lovely decor. It was very easy to find, we travelled by train and bus. would definitely recommend and stay again, thank you!

We absolutely loved our stay! The place was even better than described—so cosy and well-equipped. The jacuzzi was just amazing, with a beautiful view that made it extra special. We had such a wonderful time and would definitely come back. Highly recommend!

We had a great visit to Hadrian’s Wall. Elizabeth’s communications were clear, we found the property and access easily, there is plenty of parking available. Elizabeth had left some goodies for us in the fridge, delicious scones and wine. The property is lovely, comfortable and cosy, especially when the log fire is lit. The views are amazing, it’s also so peaceful. It’s an excellent spot for exploring the area, we visited Lanercost Priory, different areas along Hadrian’s Wall, and Kielder Water and Forest. Eating out isn’t difficult if you don’t feel like cooking as there are pub restaurants a short drive away. Elizabeth is a lovely host, very helpful, we would love to come back for another visit. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Our first visit to the Lake District and I’m so glad we chose to stay at Robins, it was easy to find, parking spot out the front, SO central, just a couple of minutes walk down to the strip of Ambleside which had a variety of cafes, bars and shops, but was tucked away enough that it was such a peaceful stay. The location also had plenty of local walks and fells to choose from, we were spoiled. We only stayed for 4 days but had plenty to do and really felt like we experienced what the Lake District had to offer. The accommodation was clean and cosy, the bed was arguably better than our own and the open fire was perfect for relaxing in the evening with a glass of wine. Thanks again!

Alan's place is ideal for a couple. so close to the shops. 10min walk to lake. comfortable bed. two settees to lounge. would definitely stay again

Can’t recommend this place any higher. So cute, comfy and private. We were able to take our rented car to many spots in the Lake District from here, and loved returning home to the cottage after days of walking and exploring to relax completely in this lovely space. It’s a must-stay for anyone exploring the Lake District! Having a car is a must too, not just for this property but for exploring this region, it’s not very well connected by any other form of transport.

I had a truly great time! There was such a lovely box of treats and cereals in the kitchen as a gift when I arrived, which was incredibly helpful on my first day, as I didn’t want to go grocery shopping after travel. Alison met me at the train and walked me over, showed me everything I needed to know, and happily came back when I had confusion or questions. An absolute delight of a host! She even drove me to work at Vindolanda on my first day (as I was a visiting researcher) and pointed out the public footpaths for me— above and beyond! My only comment would be that the washer/dryer are listed as in-unit, but they are in a shed area detached outside. It’s very, very easy to access, though! I would also add that it might be helpful for the unit to add a few minor things in the kitchen like a colander— I was making quite a bit of pasta and it was a little tricky to drain it, but didn’t have enough reason to purchase one. Wir haben zwei sehr wundervolle Wochen im nördlichen Teil vom Lake District verbracht. Von der Wohnung konnte man viele Locations anfahren. Zum Einkaufen war die Stadt Penrith nicht weit mit dem Auto. Die Wohnung war sauber und es hat alles funktioniert. Wir waren sehr zufrieden, und würden jeder Zeit wiederkommen.

Decided on a lady minute trip to The Lakes and found this little gem. Perfect for the two of us for 4 nights. Great walks, great pub, lovely local shop. Comfy and well equipped for self catering.

We had the most amazing time. The apartment was fantastic, well equipped. The pool was lovely and a massive hit with my 8 year old. We had lovely meals at the on site restaurant and the staff were lovely. The grounds of whitbarrow are honestly lovely. It definitely exceeded our expectations. Great location for activities, we visited Rookin Activity Centre and did horse riding and quad biking, which was great. We will be back

The place was very clean and very close to Keswick town. It was comfortable and overall very good. We just didn’t realise the bedroom is within the open space and not separated by the wall/ door as the pictures are not very clear to show that but it didn’t affect our stay as much.

The apartment was lovely, it had everything we needed and more, it was very cosy and the surrounding area is beautiful. All of the instructions for arrival were so helpful and clear. The building is split in two with a guest house and self catering apartments, it seemed like there were quite a few people staying there but you wouldn’t have known, it was very quiet. The gardens are nice, again split in two, so half are for the self catering apartments and half for the guest house. Grasmere is such a lovely village, very small and walkable but even so the apartment is in the most central location with everything very close by.

This was our second stay at Kate’s barn and we loved it just as much as the first! It’s such a gorgeous place to relax, and there are plenty of delightful walks to do nearby. Kate was super welcoming, and we’d definitely like to come back here again!

Excellent and cosy stay in a comfortable basement flat. Very quiet setting with lovely views from the door and a beautiful quiet garden to utilise. Walking distance to Grasmere and onto the hills. Everything of good quality in the flat and easy to access and park. Highly recommended

We had such a great stay, the host was fantastic. We had no issues but would have felt happy to let her know if we did, we will be back!

A second visit here for us and we’ll definitely be back for a third :) Julie and Paul are the loveliest hosts and the location is just stunning. The guest suite views are amazing! I’ve stayed here a few times - I’m a regular visitor to Keswick as I’m a keen hill walker. It’s a great little apartment which is very centrally located and has everything you need for a stay in the area.

Very quiet and calm place to visit despite the poor phone signal. WiFi is very fast tho
