This was my first time in a yurt and it was pretty much exactly as expected. Actually better, I guess, as I slept very well. Had the hot tub to myself from about 7pm to 9pm with the occasional person walking to/from the sauna. Pool was too cold to swim but was great for a quick dip. If you’re one that generally avoids large crowds winter time seem like the perfect time to visit Lupin. Staff is SUPER friendly and helpful too. I’d recommend this place and will certainly visit again.

Such a beautiful place! We had such a restorative weekend and loved the house so much! Everything was clean and ready for us, comfortable and welcoming. I would recommend this 1000% and am grateful for the time shared with friends here. Thank you Greg!

We really loved staying at the yurt! It was a great cozy romantic location perfect for our anniversary - close enough to everything we wanted and remote enough to feel like an escape. Would stay again if we are in the area and highly recommend to anyone with the same destination 🥰

We loved our stay! The yurt was a unique experience and the whole setting was calm, quiet and peaceful. We also found it to be a great base to explore the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park. Spencer was a great host and made us feel instantly at home.

Its a great place to stay in if you’re visiting the Kings Canyon National Park and Sequoia National Park. We had a nice and comfortable stay.

Stayed in one of the Yurt campsites at the Desolation Hotel. Very cozy atmosphere and stunning views. We brought two large dogs with us and it was very easy to sleep everyone in the Yurt. Our Yurt did not have a shower or bathroom inside of it (some on site do), but there was a bathhouse in walking distance with hot showers. Lots of places to walk the dogs with river access for them to play. We also drove to Caples Lake for the day which was only 15 min down the road. Two different restaurants to choose from at the Desolation Hotel… We did not get a chance to try the Bar/grill, but we did eat at the Sorensen’s Cafe. Very pricy, but food and drinks were very good! Overall would recommend staying here and we will be coming back again.

A Glamping Experience Like No Other! Four ladies from Australia recently had the pleasure of staying at this unique accommodation location in a Yurt, and I can confidently say it exceeded all my expectations! Nestled in a beautiful, serene valley, it offered a peaceful end to a busy day. First and foremost, the tents themselves were fantastic. Simple yet spacious, providing a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. The standout feature for me was the mattress—absolutely heavenly! After four weeks of touring America this is the best sleep any of us had had! Surrounded by nature, I enjoyed the sights and sounds of the outdoors, and the stargazing was perfect with no light pollution as we were deep in the countryside. Our host, Spencer was incredibly friendly and entertaining! He ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. If you're looking for a unique accommodation experience that combines comfort with the beauty of nature, I highly recommend the Yurt experience.

Our stay was amazing. Richard and Jennifer are terrific hosts, take pride in taking care of their property and guests. Wonderful grounds, lots of terrific touches, and the yurts and amenities are all first class. All the food is delicious, with outstanding fresh ingredients. French toast was divine, and for dinner possibly the best lamb chops I've had (definitely take advantage of the family dinner). The campfire was great for socializing with other guests, allowing a social atmosphere when you wanted and you can always step away if you want more quiet and intimacy. Air is clean, property is amazing. If you're looking to drink lots of wine, eat great food, have the ability to socialize and enjoy the quiet country with a bit of luxury, I highly recommend.

We loved the yurt! Simple, dog friendly and with a perfect view of the mountains. We stayed here on Christmas and were the only ones there so it was extra relaxing. Spencer provided chairs and a fireplace and good hospitality. We got the yurt with power so we could plug a heater in which he also provided. He even provided a propane powered heater on top of it, keeping us extra warm. We loved that we were able to walk around the property with our dogs and just enjoy nature with our furry family. The yurt had a bed, dresser, tables, solar powered lights and a trash can. If you’re looking for a chill getaway, this is a great place. The only thing that confused me was the difference in prices between the yurts…but he explained that it was because some had powers and others did not. Ours mentioned some amenities like a hammock & coffee machine and didn’t have it but I’m sure if we asked he would have provided. Just reach out to him with questions & he will answer! WOW! What a place! What an amazing off grid glamping experience! The perfect blend of solitude, beauty, and relaxation. From the sound of wind through the trees, the smell of fresh pine cones in the air during the day to the views of the stars and the warmth of a cozy fire at night, this place had it all. Many thoughtful amenities around every corner. From board games to books or wifi and Netflix, all in the seemingly middle of nowhere. This place won’t disappoint… I highly recommend!

The yurt was a great place for us to get away for the weekend. Highly recommend if you are looking to just relax and chill in a cozy yurt.

This place is absolutely stunning. They have nice beaches right on the property. So many amenities. They have shared bathroom & showers even a place to wash dishes. The view was spectacular. Lots of restaurants near by and close to the old mining town. Love watching the rafters drift by. Mike and Bonnie are amazing hosts. They even have ice on site for purchase. We will be back!

Perfect stay we will be returning each time we have a camping trip. Bathroom was extremely clean and the host was absolutely amazing.

The yurt was exactly as advertised. It does get cold in yurts, but the space heater provided, combined with the blankets, kept us warm! The bathroom, although private use for renters, is inside the owner’s home. It wasn’t weird for us, but might be something that people seeking seclusion might not find accommodating or suitable to their needs. The owners were transparent about the animals on the property. I don’t mind energetic animals, but if you are apprehensive around dogs, I would advise you to inquire with the owner if they can stay inside while you’re navigating the property. Hospitality was great and we had a great anniversary stay-action! Thanks for everything!

We had a great night and stay overall. Bathrooms were a walk away with warm water for a nice shower. Scenery was amazing. I’d definitely stay here again.

We had an amazing and relaxing time staying at Desolation Hotel in Hope Valley. It was the perfect location for our ski trip to Kirkwood, and the wood fired sauna was an amazing bonus! We will definitely be coming back here in the future!

Spencer was so kind and welcoming. There was a community fire when I arrived which was so nice. He made sure I had everything I needed and more to make me feel comfortable in the cold weather. Really appreciated the hospitality.
