The setting is absolutely stunning, providing an ideal environment to relax and reconnect with nature. However, December experiences frequent rainfall and significantly cooler late-night temperatures, so it's advisable to inform the host beforehand to prepare the fireplace and arrange for dry wood during the rainy season. The on-site assistance was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, always available whenever we needed help. Kudos to the bungalow manager for doing a fantastic job. We're definitely planning to return to this incredible place.

- We stayed with my whole family, total of 7 adults and a child. As soon as we arrived, the staff was very welcoming and kind. The place is beautiful, decor of the house is well thought through and so nice! 😍 - We also booked a cooking class for dinner time and breakfast! There was a little misunderstanding about breakfast, because you can choose between a few options but the staff again went above and beyond to make sure we were happy (which we were anyway 🙂). - Cooking class was interesting, they explained everything thoroughly and food so delicious! We also booked a private bartender who made cocktails while we enjoyed the cooking class, which was very good as well and between the group, great value for money! - swimming pool is nice and refreshing, and view from the top floor terrace is stunning! - overall I would highly recommend this place - it’s perfect for a group but it’s really the staff that makes it extra great!

Notre séjour dans cette tiny house était parfait. La cabine correspond en tout points au descriptif. La vue est magnifique, la piscine est chauffée, et le logement est absolument superbe. Dana est très réactif aux messages, et fait tout pour que le séjour se passe parfaitement bien, en se rendant disponible. Il nous a donné toutes les instructions dès l’arrivée. Pana est venue nous apporter notre dîner, et nous a allumé le poêle à bois pour avoir chaud. Le lendemain elle est venue nous apporter le petit déjeuner à l’heure que l’on souhaitait. Ils ont été des hôtes formidables. C’était l’un de nos plus beaux logements Merci à vous, j’espère pouvoir revenir un jour. 🫶🏻

We really enjoy their it’s more feel like home. We stayed there for two day but it’s very peaceful and beautiful house even we mention this villa on our YouTube channel as well you can check on privitravels my wife love to shoot that place… they are not ready to leave the villa because of that calmness and beauty… thanks to owner he is very nice person who gave his place to experience the beautiful villa in Kandy. I am English staying with young family.. 6 of us a laf minute booking. Much to appreciate from RUPUL as a Barrister at the Bar in Kandy/Colombo and country’s high Courts . I’m a forever returning visitor. The sitting room so stylish and crammed with not just law material! The breakfast was excellent and very accommodating for taking 2nd one with is to sight see early. We had an incredibly relaxed and satisfying stay at Rajiv’s place. It’s hard to believe this charming bungalow is 144 years old, thanks to Rajiv’s meticulous upkeep while preserving its colonial charm in every corner. Ideally located in Nuwara Eliya, it’s a perfect retreat for anyone looking to unwind. The hospitality was exceptional—caretakers Lasantha, Pradeep, and the team went above and beyond, from welcoming us with tea to preparing amazing dinners. They even let me join in and cook, which I thoroughly enjoyed! A special thanks to Rajiv for personally staying an extra hour to greet us and give us a tour of the property before leaving. Highly recommend this beautiful place for an unforgettable getaway!

Our stay at this bungalow was nothing short of amazing! The property is spacious, well-maintained, and offers breathtaking views, making it the perfect escape from the city. The presence of friendly dogs added a warm and homely touch to the experience. Sanjoy, the caretaker, was extremely helpful and ensured we had a comfortable stay. One of the highlights was the bathtub, which made for a relaxing retreat after a long day. Given the amenities, space, and hospitality, this place is an absolute steal for the price. The Balumgala estate was the highlight of our stay in Sri Lanka. From the peaceful surroundings, to the tranquil environment, tasteful furnishings and comfortable beds, the large and well-equipped kitchen, the walawwa style architecture, everything was perfect. Our host, Sandun was always available on Whatsaap to sort out either the wifi connectivity or the TV connection, which was not initially working. The staff at the property did everything to accommodate our needs for meals or recreation, and Siva deserves all the compliments that he has received in the other reviews. He is very polite, caring, thoughtful and an incredible cook!! We stayed here for two nights during the annual Avurudu with a family of five and we would come back any day for another memorable holiday at the picturesque Balumgala estate.
