Stayed here for three weeks in April. The Makis mother did her absolute best to make us feel at home right away - she often brought us home cooked pastries and Greek desserts. Starlink Internet was stable and fast, had no issues with it. You are pretty high up in the mountains so it can get chilly if you are not going in summer, when we arrived it was pretty cold inside. Water pressure is not great but manageable, it's also solar hot water, so the temperature can be hit and miss. The place has hotel-like access card for the lights and sockets, so when you leave everything turns off, which can be a bit of nuisance. Not much natural light inside, but the mains lighting inside is more than sufficient during night time. For better or worse you are middle of nowhere surrounded by mountains and sheep's, thus there is really no reception in the area, for sms and calls you need to go outside.

Amazing terrace, felt private and had nice views on the sea and mountains. Great communication with the host.

Such a beautiful home, with an amazing view of the mountains! Perfect view of the Milky Way at night from the private balcony. The home was extremely clean and well decorated. The air conditioning was modern, functional and very welcoming after long days at the beach. The bed was soft and very comfortable. If you don’t mind narrow, winding roads up the mountain, it is the perfect place to stay! 40 minutes drive to Chania, and within 2 hours drive of most major, popular beaches. Nikos was very kind, responsive, and welcoming. Thanks to his hospitality, my stay in Crete was an outstanding experience!

Absolutely beautiful home in a stunning area. The ride out to Theriso was beautiful and the village was so peaceful. We sat outside in the evening listening to the night sounds and watching the stars. The beds were comfortable and the house had everything we needed. lovely restaurants close by. Great place with a lot of character

Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit in dem Haus und haben uns von Anfang an total wohl gefühlt. Die Umgebung und die Aussicht ist einfach traumhaft. Der Pool ist unbeschreiblich. Es ist wirklich ein toller Ort, um zu entspannen und sich zu erholen. Zunächst wollten wir nur eine Woche bleiben, haben dann aber den Aufenthalt sogar noch verlängert. Dank des tollen Gastgebers war das kein Problem. Vielen Dank für dieses wunderbare Urlaubserlebnis. Wir kommen bestimmt nochmal wieder ;-).

Casa molto bella, con interessanti spazi esterni, vista mare e sulle montagne di Topolia. Nei dintorni delle tipiche taverne greche, negozietti e supermarket. L’ubicazione è molto comoda perché permette di andare in meno di un’ora alle spiagge più rinomate dell’isola. Raccomando senza esitare questo alloggio!

This is my family’s second time staying with casa magnolia and believe me when I say you really will not find a more generous, loving, and friendly family who genuinely care about your comfort and want to show you the beautiful hospitality that Crete is known for. We were overjoyed to see them again and are very thankful that this family has chosen to share their little paradise on earth with the world. The home is spotless clean, organized, beautifully decorated and in a countryside location that is unique and breathtaking. The owners, without asking, went out of their way to buy us essential groceries and prepare delicious local food and drink for when we arrived. We are grateful for this! Bed linens are of high quality and freshly laundered professionally and were much appreciated after a long day out and about in Chania. Bathrooms are exceptionally clean and so is the rest of the house. We will never hesitate to visit again and hope to do so in future because of this family. ❤

We had an amazing stay! The views are incredible and even better than the photos! We enjoyed eating our breakfast looking out at the mountains. It’s so peaceful and private. Niki and Yerasimos were great hosts, so friendly and kind & we loved how they personally met us and even had homemade biscuits waiting for us, a really nice touch. They also gave their own recommendations which was so helpful as it meant we visited some local beaches we’d not have gone to otherwise and they were beautiful! We also visited the local taverna a couple of times which is just a short walk away so really convenient and they did great food! The place was cosy, comfy and clean. Overall it was the best airbnb visit either of us have had!

Un logement confortable et très bien équipé, nous y avons trouvé tout le nécessaire pour notre séjour. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié les extérieurs. Fin octobre il a fallu se couvrir un peu mais nous avons pu profiter de belles soirées au calme sur la terrasse, à déguster de bonnes grillades. Sifis s'est montré très accueillant et disponible, toujours soucieux de notre bien-être, avec de précieux conseils pour la découverte de la région. Un très grand merci à lui !

Das Haus ist perfekt für einen ruhigen Ort zum entspannen. Alles ist perfekt eingerichtet was man zum leben braucht. Der Kühlschrank ist mit Essen und Trinken befüllt worden. Sehr empfehlenswert.

We stayed at the cottage at the end of September during our Honeymoon trip to Crete. The place is a jewel nestled into the hillside, with a beautiful view of Falassarna and the northwest coast, especially at sunset. I agree with other reviews that the photos don't do it justice - it's a quaint and lovely place. It had everything we needed during our stay, including a well stocked kitchen, linens/towels, toiletries, and a ceiling fan + air conditioning in the large bedroom. The place was also perfectly clean! The location is great too - a less than 10 minute drive to Falassarna beach, and in the evenings, you can walk to some of the nearby restaurants, or drive a little further for more delicious options. But by far the greatest thing was our host/neighbor Irene. She was incredibly helpful, friendly, welcoming, and gave us tips for places to eat and visit during our stay. She made the place feel like home :) We highly recommend this place and hope to visit again!

Such a fantastic week at Villa Michail, Kalliopi was so welcoming and warm, giving us a full tour of the facilities, and Dimitra was extremely prompt in communication to answer any questions we had. The villa itself is high in the mountains, with exceptional views from multiple angles of the surrounding mountains and greenery. Kalliopi and Michail have renovated the property to a very high standard, retaining numerous features and belongings of when it has been passed through generations of their family. It made our honeymoon really special and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone else. Thank you again!

This was our second time staying at the stone house. It’s perfectly located for exploring Almyrida, Gavalochori and surrounding areas. The house is clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Vasilis kindly put a mosquito net above the bed too which made a big difference for our stay this time.

Tout était fait avec du coeur, accueil vraiment très chaleureux, frigo rempli, gâteau maison. Nous avons remarqué tous les jolis détails, linge de lit brodé main , jardin soigné, salles de bain remplies de produits etc. Nous nous sommes sentis très bien dans cette maison et ne pouvons que recommander cette adresse. L’emplacement à l’écart de l’agitation touristique nous a permis de faire une pause , il y a des tavernes et restaurants à proximité, et la belle plage de Phalassarna est à deux pas. Gonia is a great, quiet village. Perfect for a relaxing getaway after the chaos of the more populated areas of Greece, yet still close enough to get to the other areas of Crete that we wanted to visit. The host is a super-host for a reason! She brought us fresh produce from her garden throughout our stay, including the most beautiful tomatoes that we had ever seen. The house is very quaint and the stone keeps it cooler during the very hot summer months. The outdoor space offered here is wonderful for relaxing, either downstairs in the shade or upstairs in the sun in the hammock or at the second dinner table. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

Our stay at Andreas’ beautifully restored ancient house in Aptera was nothing short of magical. Every corner of the home has been carefully restored, maintaining its authentic charm. Andreas was an exceptional host! From the moment we arrived, he made us feel welcome, offering helpful tips about the local area and ensuring we had everything we needed - even some food in the refrigerator! The location in Aptera is ideal for anyone looking to explore Crete’s natural beauty and ancient sites. We loved the peaceful surroundings, with easy access to stunning views, historical landmarks, and nearby beaches. In addition, there are three taverns in Aptera with great food and hospitality.

Best Airbnb I ever stayed in since I singed up on this App ten years ago. Georges was super friendly and lovely, his family cooked us an amazing Musaka 😍 The place was super clean and felt like home. Una casa piccola, accogliente, super pulita. Completa di tutto, con un letto comodissimo. Nella proprietà area parcheggio chiusa da cancello elettronico. Quello che fa la differenza in una situazione già perfetta è Paula: una donna di una disponibilità ed una gentilezza rari da trovare. Ci ha fatto trovare un kit di benvenuto e sovente ci ha offerto ottima frutta fresca. Sempre disponibile, sorridente e piena di attenzioni. Paula ci ha coccolati durante tutto il soggiorno ed è stato un dispiacere salutarla. Consiglio sicuramente questa casa. Il villaggio è davvero carino: di fronte è sito un piccolo bar frequentato da vecchietti del posto molto cordiali, a pochi passi un mini market dove fare piccoli acquisti, una taverna tipica che serve buon cibo in una vera atmosfera cretese e un antico forno che ogni giorno sforna del pane veramente buono. Ottima base di partenza per visitare le migliori spiagge della zona ovest (Balos, Falassarna...). Per un ritorno a Creta torneremo di certo qua!

What a perfect stay. We stayed at Doxa's home for a month and it was absolutely wonderful. If I could give it 10 stars I would! The location was perfect either for staying close to home and wandering down to the beach or to check out the great local restaurants. It is also centrally located and a close drive to Chania. We loved having it as our home base and then would make day trips out to the area of Kissamos, and other beautiful beaches like Elafonisi, Falasarna, Lake Kournas. The home was spacious, elegant, and meticulously clean. We loved having the beautiful big BBQ and had many nights under the stars, amidst Doxa's lovely olive tree garden. The home has all of the amenities you need for a beach stay, including toys for children, beach umbrellas, a washer and dryer, beach towels. As a host, Doxa embodies the beautiful generosity of the Greek people. Everything from the welcome basket, her responsive messages, and her kind and welcoming demeanour made us feel so at home!

Die Unterkunft ist wirklich sehr schön und ruhig gelegen. Wie habe den wunderschönen Garten, die Ruhe und die Katzen sehr genossen und konnten uns gut erholen. Mit dem Auto ist man in 5 Minuten bei vielen Restuarants, Stränden und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Chania und weitere Ausflugsziele im Westen sind gut erreichbar von dort. Wir wurden gut und nett betreut und haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt. Ich kann es sehr empfehlen. :)

La maison de George est dans un cadre paisible dans un petit village à l'écart de la foule mais à seulement 15 minutes en voiture des commerces, des restaurants et de la plage. De nombreuses randonnées sont accessibles aux alentours. La maison est impeccable avec tout ce qu'il faut et la terrasse est très appréciable. Les voisins sont très gentils et accueillants tout en restant discrets. George est un hôte merveilleux. Il est très arrangeant et toujours disponible. Je recommande vivement cette maison qui est un havre de paix. Merci pour tout George !

We had an excellent stay at Manos’ cottage. Upon meeting us he was so friendly and welcomed us with some delicious local foods including honey and olive oil as well as plenty of drinks. He even dropped round some other treats during our stay and helped us book restaurants, he was the most responsive and attentive Airbnb host we’ve ever met! The cottage was such a relaxing place to be and so private, every aspect of the landscaping had been thought through to make it feel unique. We needed a chilled break and that’s exactly what we had in Spillia, you can walk through the olive groves to two local wineries and the Cretan brewery was only a short drive away too. The area is beautiful but not far at all to the sea and supermarkets. We would come back in a heartbeat, it was a really lovely holiday.

We had a great stay at Sara’s place. The apartment is on the 2nd fl (one flight up as in the picture). We stayed comfortably in their olive groves. We like the big balcony and the bathroom is also big. Snack, Olive oil and lemon were offered, appreciated, thank to them. Sara gave us detailed information where to go for some sightseeing. Sara and her husband are very friendly. We could easily go to the city and the beach from here. Highly recommended.
