Great in the trees home. It was a great last minute find that made our mountain trip lovely. Very good location for hiking and boating along Lake Glenville.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! We loved it so much, this was our 2nd stay. Group of 13 friends just hanging out for the weekend. Things that stand out include the absolutely pristine bathrooms and the fully stocked kitchen. All the pans, utensils, cutting boards, baking pans, etc. you need. Lots of places I've been to don't have things like measuring cups but they have everything. When we had questions, response was fast. Nice common area for everyone to hang out in. Just a great place.

I have never stayed at a more well stocked rental. If you forgot anything, no worries, she probably has it in the house! Joan left some very thoughtful, personal touches like having the heated blanket turned on for me when I arrived, a bowl of treats, etc. My favorite part is a tie between the gorgeous claw foot soaking tub which I used every night, and the beautiful view of the mountains from a large picture window. The location was really beautiful, and had a grocery store and multiple gas stations within a few miles of the house. The only thing that kept it from being perfect, was the spotty wifi, which is understandable in the mountains, but all the lighting was hooked to Google, so Google either didn't understand, or the wifi kept failing for the commands. It just seemed it took 5x as long to turn on a lamp, than simply turning the switch. I ended up unhooking the one in the bedroom during my stay. I would highly recommend this rental, and Joan is an amazing host.

Very clean and quiet home. Our stay was great we had beautiful views. Sadly we didnt spend alot of time in the home as we were visiting family. Great vacation home if you just want to relax and get away.

The location was unique and amazing. It was remote and very peaceful, away from all the fast paced norms of life but still close enough to have the amenities of a small town with shops and restaurants. Close to the river where it was great for fishing and seeing wildlife and just a general walk in the evening. Lauren was incredibly responsive and the house itself was great with a great layout for the family and many places to enjoy. If you are looking to get away from the stresses of everyday life (still have wifi if you need to check your emails etc.) this is the place for you, you won't regret it.

Having stayed in a number of houses on this street before, I knew it was a great location and in walking distance to town. From the start Kirk was very communicative and available to any questions or needs we had. The setup is a little different as there are two separate houses sharing common deck and outdoor space but only one of the houses has a full kitchen setup and you have to walk through one bedroom to get to another in the front house. Considering it was a "girls" trip it wasn't an issue for us but traveling with other couples it could be. Sitting outside on the deck, listening to the creek run is one of the best things about this property!

Everything on our trip was perfect. The house, the location, the view—absolutely perfect. It's in a very convenient spot, with great restaurants and shops just minutes away. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, and there were plenty of towels and hand towels available. The living room had ample seating for our entire group, as did the kitchen table and the porch, which made for some really relaxing mornings and evenings. The beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable, making it easy to rest and recharge after our days exploring. Parking was also a breeze—there was more than enough room for two cars, and you could easily fit a third if needed. What really stood out was the view. The photos just don’t do it justice. Stepping out onto the front porch each day felt like stepping into a postcard. It’s truly stunning. The host was fantastic—very responsive and informative from start to finish. We felt well taken care of the entire time. I highly recommend this home.

Tammy was a great host! Appreciate her opening her home to us. House was clean and instructions were clear. Beds were very comfortable. Very close to downtown Bryson City.

Don and Renie’s place was perfect for my weekend getaway back to WCU. As a host, Don was perfect and accommodating. The views were spectacular and the amenities provided were superb. I will definitely stay here again when I come back to visit WCU.

This place was the calm and relaxing we needed! It was gorgeous, cozy and comfortable! There was tons to do locally and lots of outdoor activities. The best part was the hot tub after a day of hiking! 10/10 Will be back on our next trip. Host Scott was responsive and attentive.

We had a wonderful stay up on the mountain. The apartment was clean and comfortable with a spectacular view. This place is great for people with allergies, as there are no pets or smoking allowed. Plus the linens and towels were fragrance free, which people can be sensitive to. Our host did a nice job welcoming us and the unit is well stocked for cooking in.

I work remote and rented Damien's home for a month to disconnect and get away from big city life for a little, and it was the best decision I've ever made. This airbnb was perfect for me and my pup. It has a creek and hiking trail on the massive property which makes for extremely pleasant dog walks. I never had an issue with the Starlink wifi (and I had a lot of devices connected and take zoom meetings all day) while the home is super private and secluded, the town of Franklin with everything you need is less than 10mins away. No complaints about this house or homeowner, one of my favorite Airbnb stays ever and I will definitely be returning in the future. 10/10 would recommend!

This place was great! It was nice to plan a surprise trip for some of my family and they all really enjoyed this private castle in the woods. The hosts were great and responsive to any questions or concerns that we had. We were able to conveniently go to a few smaller towns nearby and we would definitely return.

Sheila is a true gem! We evacuated from hurricane Milton and she showed true compassion. She went above and beyond with hospitality and communication. I would highly recommend this Airbnb in big canoe. What a fantastic escape from all the stress at home! We will be back and we will request Shelia’s cabin.

We stayed for four nights. The views from this home are more incredible than any picture could capture. We stay in many rental homes when we travel. This is the most well appointed kitchen we’ve ever used. Communication with the host was easy and rarely needed. Lots of great instructions on how to do things around the house. And the space was just simply beautifully decorated. I wanted to spend time with my family in a beautiful home with a breathtaking view. This home did just that! Thank you for sharing your home.

Such a peaceful retreat in a beautiful setting. Waves of nostalgia in every nook and cranny of this house. Our family thoroughly enjoyed admiring the pictures, decorations, books and furniture! Preparing meals in the kitchen was an absolute treat. We have never stayed in such a well-equipped kitchen. The serving platters, cooking utensils, cookware and glassware were enjoyed by all! The home was clean and so peaceful. The fireplace was just icing on the cake! Everyone enjoyed our family trip and we hope to return!

Our stay at Encore on Nantahala Lake was nothing short of spectacular. The views were stunning, and the accommodations were exceptional. The owners paid remarkable attention to detail, ensuring that every aspect of our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. We rented a boat from Lake End Boat Rentals and Marina, which made the experience even smoother as they handled both delivery and pickup for us. We spent a peaceful evening on the lake, exploring beautiful hiking trails in the area, which made our return to the lake even more delightful as the sun set. Visiting during spring break meant that some activities were limited due to the cooler water temperatures, but we actually appreciated the quieter atmosphere compared to the bustling summer months. Overall, our week was filled with wonderful experiences, and the excellent communication with our host made it all more enjoyable. We were truly blessed to find this gem on Lake Nantahala it certainly lived up to its name. Thank You!
