My family and I stayed at Gilbert’s cabin for the Christmas Holidays and really enjoyed it. The cabin sits on a large piece of land, so even though there are neighbors it feels very private. It was very quiet and the fire pit outside was the perfect place to stargaze. The cabin is only 10-15 minutes to downtown Blue Ridge and there are also plenty of hikes nearby as well. We would love to come back in the summertime and enjoy the lake!

This was such a sweet stay and we wish we could have stayed longer! Beautiful location - my husband enjoyed fly fishing during the day on the water and I was only 20 minutes from kayaking at the NOC. The house was very clean - tidy bathroom and kitchen with all your basics stocked to get you started. Hot tub was lovely and very clean! There is a steeper drop off next to the outside firepit so I would be mindful with little children. Easy check in and they were very flexible and responsive when we had some crazy weather pop up nearby. We will be back again and hopefully stay a little longer!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Ruth's Airbnb, and I couldn't be more impressed! Barry and Tricia are both so lovely, they were always very professional and extensive with their responses which I appreciated. The house was gorgeous and very spacious. It was very clean with an amazing view of the lake behind. We met the previous owner and he was very kind as well. The only thing I could think to ask of them is to include more pictures in the listing! You are gatekeeping your gorgeous home! lol This is a worthwhile stay with a group of friends or family. We loved staying here! The house has everything one would need for a relaxing stay. My kids loved fishing from the dock, the legos, and puzzles- so much to do that screens were not even missed!

I enjoyed this place 100%. Clean space, some privacy, extremely peaceful. Matt was super proactive in letting us know of the current events that could affect our stay, such as open fire bans. so therefore we could not use the fire pit. However, We enjoyed the scenery, the hot tub, the grill and other outside adventures. I would highly recommend staying here & I would definitely book with Matt again during a different season!

Absolutely beautiful and unique property. Very responsive hosts. Would love to stay again! Tips for future travelers: I had no difficulty getting to the house in my 2WD sedan. I recommend packing on the lighter side, as you park a little ways away from the house (although they do provide a cart to make bringing in your luggage easier!). I would only stay at this Airbnb if you feel comfortable frequently navigating stairs, and if you are comfortable carrying your luggage across ~50 yards of uneven asphalt. In response to some past negative reviews: I felt as if the house was clean, with the exception of some cobwebs in the rafters. I did not think the house had any more bugs than any other home in the middle of the woods. I wonder if the person who complained of excessive spiders was seeing “Joro” spiders, which are seasonal, as I did not see any. They stay in their webs and are pretty much harmless to humans.

This vacation involved checking out the area for an upcoming wedding. For the house, we wanted lots of space in the house and easy parking, bathrooms for each family group, family space to hang out, easy walking, and of course access to the lake. All of these happened plus great porch space with the firepit and also the outdoor firepit. The stairs to the lake provided a work out and planning for the day. That is the only consideration for others to be aware of, is if they have a family member that has issues with stairs. The area is beautiful and exactly what we hoped for and this home with the easy contact for any issues or questions made it a great week!

Had an amazing stay at Harold's country home! The home was cozy, well-equipped, and tranquil. Highly recommend for a Blue Ridge getaway!

Great house in amazing location! The house has plenty of space and was stocked extremely well even for our large party. There are plenty of amenities within the house itself, such as a canoe, volleyball nets, ping-pong tables, a firepit and a grill, as well as in the surrounding area. Leah was responsive and easy to reach. It was a great weekend getaway and I would highly reccommend the house!

Can I just say WOW?!?! This stay was truly a dream Christmas family vacation that we will never forget. We had more fun spending time in the cabin than we did going anywhere else. There was space for the adults and kids to equally enjoy. The hosts were so caring and accommodating and even had a Christmas tree put up for us before we got there. The amenities, the space, the cleanliness, etc., were incredible! Lifelong memories, thank you so much!!!

This was the perfect place for us and our dogs to stay while visiting family :) 10/10 recommend :)

We loved the cabin! It was just as described. It was clean and had everything we needed. I would definitely bring a different vehicle next time, had a little bit of a hard time maneuvering on the mountain roads to get up to the cabin. Steep downhill and inclines. Great little sleep spot for some hikers coming thru town trying to finish the AT. We were able to walk across the street and eat dinner. Clean room, comfortable bed, clean shower and restroom. One in our group travels with a noise machine which proved to be helpful as the noise from the highway the motel faces can be a little loud. Felt very safe.

Had a beautiful, peaceful spring break with family . The home provided enough space for 10 people and enough outdoor fun to keep the kids and adults occupied. The property was very clean , thank you to the housekeeping staff for making it perfect

Had a fantastic stay here for a family get-together. House was extremely beautiful. Interior design and layout were top notch. Orientation of the house also yielded phenomenal views of lake and mountains. Furthermore the house was just very very comfortable to reside in. I rate this house and the entire experience a 10 out of 10.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Patti's home. There was plenty of room for all of us (7 adults, a toddler and a baby). Everyone had their own private space. The wrap around porch was terrific! The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet. The fishermen in the family were pleased with the fishing. Hiawasee is a great little town with great little shops. We attended Macedonia Baptist Church Sunday morning and felt very welcomed.

We had a good stay at Whippoorwill. We cook a lot and the kitchen was pretty well stocked with different pots and pans and also basic necessities (salt pepper/sugar/oil/vinegar). The A/C works well and surrounding area is prettt quiet, it backs up to a national forest. The home was one minute away from a popular day-use area with lake access, picnic tables and trails. It's only a few minutes from the dam day use areas (including river access) and maybe 8 min from Morganton point day use area which was the nicest, most beach-like lake access point we found. I will say based on the google map image I was expecting the home to have more of a lake view, that was the only downside, but it's summer so the trees are grown in. You can see it from the upstairs windows and from part of the porch though and we were able to see fireworks displays over the lake in July 3rd and 5th (we could see some of the 7/4 ones over the dam but trees blocked some of them). I would stay here again.

The view is lovely. This home has separate spaces for families or groups of friends with two different kitchens. I loved that there was a bedroom directly next to parking so a family member with a disability could walk in without taking the stairs. The home had plenty of linens, games and kitchen equipment. Having two washers and dryers was also a nice bonus!

We had a wonderful stay with extended family. We have been coming to Santeetlah for over 20 years and it's beauty is always magnificent and peaceful. More than enough space for everyone to enjoy together or in private. We cooked just about every night of our 2 week stay, except for a couple of treat nights at Topoco Lodge, which we love. Star gazing off the deck, breakfast on the quiet gorgeous lake and convenient private dock for our rented pontoon boat. Beds were very comfortable and host was responsive to the one problem we had with hot water - was addressed and fixed promptly. Note that there are a lot of stairs to access the entry of the house (not that unusual for Lake Santeetlah, but if you're new to the area it's important to know). We will be back!
