Location was perfect for as it was close to Combermere Abbey. It was also 1 hour drive from Manchester Airport. We had hired the two flats which were beside each other and it suited both families; it was almost as if we had the whole marina to ourselves. The pub on the other side of the canal was great and there was lovely 5min walk down to a Garden Centre for Breakfast. The flow of long barges through the canal was lovely.

Host was approachable via text/Whats app. Clean accomodation, well equipped kitchen and very peaceful surroundings. Felt very safe as well. Highly recommend. Will certainly book again when I visit Chester next time.

Absolute gem of a place to stay ... everything was amazing from start to finish. Our 5 nights went far too quickly so much more to explore! great location beautiful place and fantastic hosts!

The property was perfect for what we needed. We were spending Christmas with family in Chester and this cottage was just a 5 minute drive away. Moira had made the cottage very welcoming. As soon as we entered it felt like Christmas. The property was clean, spacious and cosy! It felt like a home away from home. Parking was great and the host was very contactable if needed. I would recommend and stay here again.

Me and my misses stayed in this lovely cottage overlooking a lovely lock was gorgeous waking up and having a walk along the river there was a pub up the road 5 mins drive with lovely food and Chester near by with lovely Christmas market and Liverpool 45 mins away the location was perfect the house was spotless and the fire was gorgeous to sit around while watching some tv at night the hot tub was lovely and good instruction how to get it piping hot add loads of woods n keep it topped up but all in all she was quick to reply to any questions we had and helped with anything we asked so thanks for lovely stay we will be back and the bath room what a lovely bath with a lovely view 10/10

Perfect stay for our business trip working on the nearby Ice Cream Farm and we had lovely hosts which is an added bonus! Gorgeous place, really stylish and we felt very at home. Thank you again!

Canal House is in a great location, surrounded by lovely restaurants and a 10 minute walk into the old town centre. The hosts communicated with us really well, giving clear directions and instructions for checking in. We had questions regarding the heating and welcome book and they responded super quickly, to resolve the issues. The house is roomy, comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. As mentioned in other reviews, the decor is a little tired and it would benefit from a deep clean, inside the wardrobes etc. Even so, would this stop us recommending the Canal House to others? No, it wouldn’t and we would happily stay here again.

Sadly we had a busy few days moving my daughter out of uni digs, so didn't spend as much time at the cottage as we would have liked. Great location, very near to Chester but in a quiet rural lane. Beautifully presented and comfortable - a proper home from home, all decor and appliances very high end. Garden was lovely too. Host was very friendly but not intrusive.

Lovely cottage in a perfect location. You will have the best of both works here. We travelled to big cities every day with the excellent train service which was literally steps away. We returned to the peaceful countryside and a a nice comfy bed at the end of the day. We will definitely book this place again!

Lovely and comfortable apartment, home from home, fully equipped with all amenities. The instructions provided by email were a big help, however, Suggestion: it would be invaluable to have a hard copy in the apartment too. It's only a short walk to the city, a map providing the quickest route from the apartment to the city especially for visitors not familiar with the area would also be useful.. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us and making our trip to Chester so enjoyable.

What a find! An excellent apartment in a quiet area but only a short walk to the walls and into the centre of Chester. Easy to find, with great parking and access instructions. The apartment is spacious, clean and just as described, with the most amazing views and a really comfy bed - thank you! Loved Huxley's cafe (on the wall), and The Rainbow Cafe, and had the most wonderful meal at Shrub. Neighbourhood (Northgate) does superb cakes and their strawberry cheesecake is worth a mention! Will definitely stay again if we visit the city again.

Very nice apartment; comfortable, quiet and appears to be well maintained. For us, the provision of a parking space was crucial to our choice: especially in a town like Chester which has many narrow roads where parking can be problematic. Easy check-in due to the very good communications from the Host. Several (independent) fast food places and mini-supermarkets are within easy walking distance, so supplies were never an issue. Also within easy walking distance were the City Walls, and the other attractions that Chester has to offer. So, all in all, a successful trip for us.

Accommodation was perfect for us and the location was walking distance to the town centre. very flexible with checkin and check out. Apartment in a lovely spot looking over the Canal and the Apartment had everything we needed. Thank you

Really lovely place. Very close to the city centre and to supermarkets. My little one loved looking at the ducks from the balcony. Fantastic place if you have a car too!

Quiet accommodation even though in a central location. The rooms were clean and had everything needed for a few days. Secure parking is a bonus as is secure access to the accommodation. Will definitely have this Airbnb top of the list for our next visit to family in Chester. James was very helpful in sending over screenshots of security controls - after a long car journey this was particularly helpful. Thank you James.
