We had a relaxing couple of days at the Granary over new year and it had everything we needed. The place was spotless and well equipped as well as very cosy. The farm is on a quiet road but is a short drive or 20 minute walk into Sedgefield and is convenient for Durham as well. Loved meeting the Shetland pony and Rascal the cat too!

Absolutely amazing location and property. Check in and communication was hassle free. Made to instantly feel at home. Immaculate cleanliness and all the facilities to make our stay perfect. Unfortunately, we had to leave the property to go back to work (otherwise would have loved to stay longer). Full credit to Bev for her hospitality.

Two families with dogs and children and the cottage was great! Plenty of space, big kitchen well stocked with equipment and we arrived to tea, milk and biscuits. Plenty of communication from the host and we made full use of the grounds and play room. Location was great, plenty of walks from the property and the local amenities had everything we needed. Great stay!! Thank you x

We stayed at the Granary for a weekend break visiting family in the area, we found it to be very clean, well equipped and was as described, both beds are enormous and comfortable, we all slept extremely well as it was extremely peaceful, It’s definitely a bit of a gem and we will definitely stay again.

Brilliant stay at this lovely, modern air bnb. Walking distance to Beamish museum. Peaceful surroundings. Very clean and spacious. We were kindly greeted with some scones and a hamper on arrival. Great stay overall.

We all loved our stay at this lovely farm house over New Year. The house was spacious clean and well equipped for everything we needed. Elizabeth and Tom were very quick to respond to any questions we had prior to and during our stay. The outside area was just perfect and we would love to come back to enjoy the outdoor area more in the summer. Such a lovely house, perfect kitchen for hosting small groups and in a good location!

Lovely unique cottage that was very well presented and clean. Close to lots of things to do and lovely countryside to explore around the cottage. Trevor was very friendly and helpful.

Wonderful host and property. Children loved watching the sheep in the nearby fields, seeing the local horses and playing in the enclosed garden. Property was clean and homely. Had everything you need and more. Host provided lots of helpful information about the local area, and was responsive to any needs. Would highly recommend.

The cottage was beautiful with everything you could need for your stay. Anita and Bruce were on hand if anything or advice was needed. The bread, wine and chocolates were a lovely welcome gift. Views from the cottage were stunning with walks straight from the door. We will definitely be back. ☺️

My Fiancé and I had a lovely stay at the The Loft. Firstly, John was a great Host. Before arrival, he sent instructions on how to locate the property, which even included pictures and was very helpful. He was also friendly and polite. The Loft itself was beautifully decorated and offered a relaxing space for us to enjoy our weekend. With modern features in the kitchen, a very comfortable bed and a refreshing walk-in shower, it was a delightful experience. We really appreciated the small details that made a huge difference, such as the luxurious bath towels, fresh milk in the fridge on arrival and the collection of brochures for ideas on 'things to do'. The Loft had everything we needed for our stay, and was great value for money. The location is perfect, offering a peaceful environment whilst also only short drive from the busy Durham City Centre. I'd highly recommend booking a trip to stay here! Thank you John.

Blue Heron is a wonderful relaxing break. Immaculately clean, everything felt well thought out and comfy. The hot tub was the ideal place to watch the sunset over the castle and stream. The garden was secluded and our little dog could have a good run around without much worry. The stream at the end of the garden was so pretty. You're plenty far from the road so we weren't on edge about her getting out which definitely added to the relaxation. Everything felt like it was nice quality so it felt more like home. The bed was super comfy and the shower was great. It was easy to find especially with the instructions. Debi and Stuart are fantastic hosts. We had a power cut and they couldn't have done more to make sure we were alright. If you're looking for a relaxing break with plenty of options for walks, pleasant local villages, and want a luxurious base to chill out in the afternoons, Blue Heron is everything you need. Couldn't recommend enough. Highly recommend The Bay Horse!

A beautiful home, tastefully decorated and immaculately presented, set in lovely park like grounds. Perfect 2 day post Christmas escape from the kids. Highly recommend
