We had such a comfortable and peaceful night’s stay, it truly felt like a home away from home, plus we loved the wacky decor. The space was clean, cozy, and very thoughtfully put together, with all the little touches that make a big difference. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the quiet surroundings made it easy to relax and get a great night’s sleep. We really appreciated how welcoming and easy everything was from start to finish. Would definitely love to stay here again!

Had a wonderful stay at Joan’s. It really did feel like a home from home. It was spotless and had everything we needed. Loved the garden. For arriving on the fridge there was milk and a good supply of tea, coffee and chocolate biscuits. It was ideally situated for visiting our family near by and visiting Beamish. We wouldn’t hesitate in coming back .

Great place to stay, perfect for our trip to Durham and surrounding areas. Angela was a great host with lots of little extras like biccies and orange juice, unexpected treats! Very comfy bed and very clean. Would stay again.

From the moment we stepped through the door of Steph’s place we felt right at home, the house was spotless and so comfortable. The decor was beautiful. It is in the ideal location to access all amenities as well as the local beaches and to collect seaglass. The communication was great and the instructions were clear. Thank-you for a relaxing stay we shall definitely be back

2nd time stayong and was really good value, comfortable and just what we needed for a short break. The home is in a quiet area of stocton which is great. Hosts are very easy to communicate with and responsie to messages. Will definitely stay again when next in the area.

Peaceful quiet location. Near train station. Clean . Generally well equipped, although a few bits of cutlery and crockery missing but nothing major. Comfortable beds, pillows not to my personal preference as very hard, but overall an excellent stay and I would not hesitate to stay again and would recommend.

Huge house which was ideal for us. Great host who was happy to help. We didn’t spend much time there as visiting family In The area. Thank you Vicky.

We had a lovely time. It was like a home from home. Emma couldn't do enough for us. The bed was really comfortable and there were plenty of enticing cafes and restaurants in Bishop Auckland.

Great stay!! Hot tub was immaculate so was the cottage , sofa and bed extremely comfortable and clean. Would 100 percent return here!! Only thing I think it should be 11am checkout and 2pm like alot of other lodges/cottages. Thanks for the little break

I rarely ever write reviews but this one was too amazing not to. Everything from the small details for my sister's birthday to the place blew us away. It's like a small paradise & completely unique. Very private & peaceful! I 100% would return, you will not regret booking this gem of a place. Thank you the most amazing hosts for being so kind & thoughtful!

Mark and dionne were great host's with an amazing little air b'n'b, the scenery is beautiful and peaceful. The cottage is clean and had everything we needed, the jacuzzi bath is the ideal addition to the stay with the outdoor fire pit sat in the breathtakingly queit scenery, some great pubs not too far afield to compliment the stay. it was a very peaceful and relaxing night away for us, we will definitely book it again.

Our second visit to Kate’s place - we had such a wonderful time before so we couldn’t wait to come back and spend a longer time there! It was immaculately clean and tidy as well as warm and welcoming. Kate left us supplied with milk orange juice, tea coffee cereals etc and a lovely pack of hot cross buns + butter as a special Easter treat! Kate also put out the chairs for us to sit in the sun- it was lovely , thank you. The beds are really comfortable- we slept really well. Gordon enjoyed watching the snooker on the super large tv screen ! Thanks again Kate - we’ll be back !

We had a really great time in Debra's home. Her place is clean, comfortable, and close to the beaches, supermarkets, and restaurants. Debra is warm, welcoming, and quick to respond to texts/emails. We look forward to returning again in the Fall. Thank you so much, Debra! xx

Very good, met all my needs fully. A short drive into the town centre and a communicative and helpful host.

This was a very comfortable stay of 11 days for us. The apartment is spacious. clean, and feels very comfortable right from the outset. It has a well-stocked kitchen and all the amenities and appliances you will need for either a short or long stay. We did a lot of cooking ourselves, but there is also a very nice pub a short walk away. Also the bus takes you straight into the center of Durham from the pub. The area around is pleasant but there isn't much to do except walk and enjoy the countryside, which is very pleasant. The bed was comfy, and the pillows were new (although too soft for us, but thats just personal preference). Overall it was a great stay and well worth the price. The owner was helpful and communicated well, the wifi was good, and the couches comfortable. We would both return and recommend the apartment.

What a lovely apartment to stay in Durham! Chris was so nice to meet me there and show me everything with the apartment. The apartment is all new, very comfortable, with a beautiful peaceful setting on the river! He even bought me some food to get me through the mornings. It was so conveniently located to the town. I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this apartment!

The Seaglass Apartment is fantastic!! I stayed for 25 nights and was very sad to leave the Apartment and to leave Seaham. The Apartment had everything I needed. It is nicely decorated and is located within easy walking distance to restaurants, Pubs and stores. The Apartment was extremely clean and has a nice cozy feel. The kitchen is great and the bathroom is wonderful. I especially Loved the bathtub after a long day walking on the beach or hiking. Gillian was Very easy to communicate with and quick to respond to questions. I am really looking forward to staying there again.

We were so pleased to find Darren's place was available we love this little place it's a great place to stay, we had a train to catch for a theatre trip so convinient

Another lovely stay at this wonderful apartment. It is so quiet and relaxing yet only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Durham and very close to the Cathedral. The apartment was spotless and stylishly and very comfortably furnished. The kitchen has everything you could need to cater for yourselves but with a bakery on your doorstep and pubs, restaurants and a Tesco and a Greggs only a few mins walk away theres plenty of choice if you preferred not to cook. Chris & Wendy provide lots of extras on arrival such as bread, croissants, biscuits, eggs, Tiptree jams, milk, orange juice, butter, Prosecco & Lindt chocolates. There is a coffee machine with a huge choice of coffee capsules to choose from and it is so nice to sit on the balcony over the river with a morning coffee watching the wildlife and the river flowing by. We cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough and are looking forward to returning again next year for an even longer stay.
