We had a great stay at this beautiful home in Southern Shores! Everything was exactly as described and shown in the pictures. The neighborhood is very private and quiet, making it a perfect place to relax. Parking in the driveway was easy and convenient. One of the highlights was the hot tub—it was so nice and relaxing! However, since the pool doesn’t have a heater, we didn’t end up using it as the water was still quite cold in late March. The host provided a very helpful local guide, which made exploring the area even easier. Overall, a lovely stay, and we’d definitely recommend it!

Kendra is a lovely host, who is extremely proactive and responsive. She truly cared about us having the best experience in her home while we were on vacation. Her home was very clean and comfortable; the perfect accommodation to come back to after a day out! The walk to the beach is about three minutes away. We are definitely hopeful of being repeat guests!

This stay was a repeat for us. Tanya and Lowell have thought of everything in this space. Clean, comfortable and cozy. Our first stay was a few years back during Thanksgiving and I was able to prepare a wonderful meal for my family. This time was a quick escape to reset our minds and body following Hurricane Helene. The hot tub, kitchen, beds, entertainment, and location make this place very, very special.

To say this was a great stay is truly an understatement! I loved every bit of our little getaway at Roberta’s property. Upon entering the home you can look out and see the lake, which was a huge plus for us. The home was clean, cozy, and had up to date appliances which my boyfriend and I loved since our favorite thing to do together is cook. Roberta was very friendly and was quick to respond to any questions I had before and during my stay. I absolutely hated that we had to leave! Such a peaceful atmosphere, we will definitely be booking again!

Much-Needed R&R for Two Lovebird Entrepreneurs We arrived at Norfolk Airport just after midnight, flying in from Rochester, NY. To avoid disturbing neighbors or our host, I reserved the Airbnb for 4 PM. When Diane learned of our situation, she graciously offered an early check-in after our flight. Unfortunately, delays pushed our arrival to 7 AM, but Diane ensured everything was ready. Cooter’s Cabin truly exceeded our expectations! The attention to detail is remarkable. Upon entering, we were greeted by the delightful aroma and thoughtful touches, including balloons, candy, and a heartfelt anniversary card. The kitchen and bathroom were fully stocked, making our stay incredibly convenient. The cozy living room offered endless entertainment options, while the outdoor amenities—fishing gear and a fire pit—provided perfect relaxation. Diane is one of the most welcoming hosts you’ll ever meet. Thanks to her, our anniversary was incredibly special. We can’t wait to return!

Nice place. Be sure to read the fine print. The host expects you to spend “a couple to three hours” to complete the checkout steps. I can confirm that you will need all of that time. Start the night before. Bit of a walk to the beach, or a 90-second bike ride. The house was generally clean. The carpet is showing its age. The kitchen was nice. There were sodas and little boxes of raisins. The bikes are rusty and wobbly and the tires were low, but they work (and there’s a bike pump). A lot of the beach gear is broken (boogie boards), moldy, and/or rusty (chairs). We used the wagon, sand castle buckets, and bikes. The wagon is also used for beach gear storage, so before you can use it you have to unload it. There were lots of cobwebs and spiders. There was a giant tent in a box, and tiny personal-sized chair umbrellas, but no beach umbrellas. All in all a nice stay.

We loved it so much we were already looking at future availability on the first night. The amenities and location were perfect. We had everything we needed for trips to the beach, biking, baby stuff. Marcy is a great host and very responsive. We got water on a barstool, and she gave us instructions for trying to fix it. We also brought our dogs, and the community was very dog-friendly. The outdoor hose and shower made clean-up easy and quick. It's also right down the road from restaurants, shops, a beautiful park, and grocery stores. Can't recommend it enough.

All 3 of us had a fantastic stay. Our fur baby loved the inclosed deck and slept on it multiple times. The home was spacious and very comfortable. Overall, this place is exceptional in location, comfort and price. The host was super resppnsive and was very helpful with any and everything to recommednations to easy check in and instructions. We all just loved it.

We loved staying at this cozy cabin! The water views were simply gorgeous. Our two dogs were very comfortable and loved the yard. Our kids couldn’t get enough of the screened in porch. The only thing I would give a heads up on are the roosters next door. They started crowing at 6:30am and didn’t let up until 8:30am. Then they randomly crowed throughout the day. It didn’t really bother me, but it woke up my kids and thus they woke up my husband and myself. So, just something to be aware of. Everything else was absolutely perfect.

My husband, two grown sons, and one grandchild (3.5) stayed at Ritta's. My granddaughter called it the little house with the blue door. She loved it. We ALL did! It was clean, had tons of helpful stuff including games, towels, stocked kitchen with spices, etc.... Everything was super clean, and we had a ball. My guys all loved the game room, but I did too! Just a fun bonus. We really liked the view from the back porch...and saw lots of boats. The neighbor was super nice and even turned his lights on early to please my lil granddaughter. Overall, it was GREAT! We hope to return and stay longer. Ritta was so responsive by text and that meant a lot to me!

What a beautiful place to stay. Theresa took a chance on renting to us young people and boy am I glad she did. what peaceful mornings watching the sunrise on the dock. Was a lovely place to have our dog. the kitchen was all setup for making wonderful dinners. A town and beach only 30 minutes away gave us plenty to do. Our 6 month old puppy loved the beach... I am so grateful to our host. This space is 1000% worth the money. The host makes it even better handling everything with grace and class.

We had a wonderful stay over the winter holidays and found the house to be very well fitted out and quite cozy. There's easy access to the beach on this quiet block of Southern Shores, and we were sorry to leave even after two full weeks. We highly recommend this cottage. Lots of historic OBX charm, and the host and crew couldn't have been more accommodating.

One of the nicest places we have stayed! The neighborhood is so peaceful and the house is beautiful. The amenities are above and beyond. We received a gift upon arrival and delicious cookies during our stay. So thoughtful and much appreciated. Highly recommend!!!

We had a wonderful time during our first visit to the Outer Banks. The house was in a neighborhood surrounded by trees that gave each house a feeling of privacy and was very close to all the restaurants and attractions. I would definitely stay here again.

Great space, wonderful stay. Well appointed kitchen. A couple suggestions: Check out instructions messaged were not quite consistent with what was posted. Also no bath soap was provided, which is not a problem, but make that clear in listing so guests are prepared.

This place delivered exactly what we were hoping for. It was beautifully located right on the water, very peaceful, and close to Duck and restaurants. Plus, Michael and his folks were extremely responsive and communicated very well.

The Corolla house was perfect for my young family. very close to the beach, private pool which comes in handy when babies and toddlers are napping. Great location and beautiful home

The place was great, as described! The neighbourhood is really nice and a close walk to the beach. Limited toilet paper, tissue and garbage bags are provided, so plan accordingly. No shampoo or other essentials provided.
