It is an amazing place to stay. Spacy, well equipped, located in a peaceful area. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bedrooms well separated, the American-style living room/kitchen is large and homely. Myrra. the family cat with whom we gladly shared the flat is a very friendly cat who has never bothered us. My sons liked to caress her. We can strongly recommend this apartment if you are looking for a well-located, spacious, cozy place to stay.

This was one of the best Airbnb stays I’ve had. The apartment was so welcoming and the special touches were so thoughtful and appreciated. From the gift basket to the personalized welcome sheet, we felt at home immediately. Everything was immaculate and the added convenience of the washer/dryer was wonderful after spending a week in an RV. Host was fabulous and very responsive. I cannot recommend this stay more highly. My only regret was not accounting for additional nights — we would have loved another night or two it was so relaxing and comfortable.

Our stay in Akureyri at Asa’s apartment was perfect. We enjoyed our stay at this comfortable, well equipped accommodation. It’s tastefully decorated with modern furnishings and all the mod cons you could ask for. It’s in a lovely part of town with views of the mountains including the ski slopes in the distance. We were lucky to see the northern lights from the garden - stunning! We hired a car and there is plentiful parking out front. There is lots of storage and hanging space in the apartment and it was really clean and tidy on arrival. The beds and linen are extremely comfortable. As others have mentioned the coffee machine is excellent. We’ve made note of the make so we can look at getting one at home! Thank you for a great stay and help answering all our questions. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Homey, comfortable, & very spacious apartment in a quiet neighborhood with easy parking. Conveniently located near shopping center with grocery store and only a 5 min drive to downtown Akureyri. Would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful two-night stay here. The location was great - a short walk to the river front and downtown area of Akureyri. We were right down the street from a grocery store which made meals a snap. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast and dinner both days. Asa & Bjorn were great with their communication too and helped with a few random questions we had. Overall, a great experience.

Stay here!!! This is a unique gem in the mountains. We even got a beautiful view of the aurora borealis spread across the sky from downtown Akureyri to the mountain behind us. This place has very good character and makes you feel cozy and right at home. Would definitely stay again!

Das wunderschöne alte Haus am Fjord ist einfach nur unbeschreiblich einzigartig. Es liegt traumhaft direkt am Wasser, es ist liebevoll hergerichtet und verfügt über alles was man braucht. Wir haben hier als Familie mit 2 Jugendlichen eine wundervolle Zeit verbracht und werden ganz sicher wiederkommen. Schöner kann man wohl in Island kaum noch wohnen. Herzlichen Dank an Eyþór für die tolle und jederzeit schnelle Kommunikation. Grenivik ist ein liebenswerter kleiner Ort an dem man sich einfach nur wohlfühlen muss. Danke für die unvergessliche Zeit!

This was the best place we stayed on our entire trip to Iceland! Beautiful view of Hofsós, comfortable, cozy, adorable spot and Þóra is the most accommodating host. We locked ourselves out in the first hour because we were very tired and dumb and Þóra had us back in within 2 minutes. She had great recommendations on what to do in Hofsos which is a beautiful town. Next time I’m in Iceland I would probably stay here the entire trip. THANK YOU, Þóra

Nos trois jours sont passés très vite.... Nous avions un pêcheur avec nous et jenny a été très sympa....pour lui montrer le spot...et lui a amené du matériel de peche.... Tout était super.....nous serions bien restés plus longtemps

Einstaklega huggulegt og kósý hús fyrir vinkonuhópinn. Allt til alls í eldhúsinu og tvö baðherbergi :) Þetta er í annað sinn sem við erum allar saman í húsinu og við vorum allar sammála um að þarna væri gott að vera. Staðsetningin er miðsvæðis og samskiptin við eigandann frábær.

Étape d’une nuit dans la petite maison bleue d’Herdís. Magnifiquement rénovée et décorée avec goût, on s’y sent comme chez soi, c’est très cosy et parfaitement équipé. Tout est prévu dans le moindre détail, les équipements sont grand luxe et ça change de la déco et des meubles IKEA Maison en plein centre de Sigló au calme et tout à côté d’un super musée dédié à l’histoire de ce petit village qui fut au début du 20 eme siècle un des centres les plus importants de la pêche au hareng.

We had a beautiful christmas stay here! The apartment was so cosy and we were sad to leave this place. It felt refreshing to be able to cook our dinner every night and sit down and watch some TV. The fold out couch was great for movie nights too!

Fantastic apartment in the centre of Akureyri. Everything we wanted to do was in easy walking distance. Several restaurants and bars too. 10 mins walk to the public swimming pool and 15 to a large supermarket. The accommodation was over two floors and really comfortable. WiFi was great. Check in was really easy and Petur (the host) was really helpful.

If I could give more stars for location, I would. Definitely go the the public pool a short walk away. The people are so friendly and there are 2 awesome water slides (one is referred to by local kids as the toilet bowl, you'll see why in a fun way). This is a bottom floor apartment which seems very new. The apartment was quiet and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook. The bed was comfy. The Northern lights were amazing. Probably the best place we stayed in Iceland and a good value.

This was by far the best place we stayed during our visit to Iceland. The unit was nicely equipped from the kitchen to the linens. Location was walkable to dinner and local shopping. We were even able to walk to the docks for our whale watching excursion. Our only driving was to the Forest Lagoon hot springs (highly recommend them, we went twice)

Nicely decorated apartment, spacious kitchen, free street parking right by the door, responsive host, good linen. Note that the washing machine and dryer are in a shared room with the apartment downstairs.

A very cozy and lovely place to stay in, feels like home - well equipped kitchen and bathroom, and the living space was very comfortable. Great location too, close to shops and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights here!
