the place is beautiful and so unique. our hosts were so friendly and welcoming ... from first meeting to the great food. we would definitely come again

Werkelijk fantastische locatie. De kamer is wellicht wat basic, maar dit paste voor ons echt perfect bij de locatie. Een kwartiertje rijden van het stadje Sigiriya, maar dat was goed te doen. De locatie was een soort afgelegen compound en daardoor een oase van rust. Olifanten in de buurt gezien, een fijn zwembad en douchen in de openlucht is heerlijk. Tot slot waren de mensen enorm lief en stonden altijd voor ons klaar. Absolute aanrader als je twee nachten rust wilt ervaren in de natuur!

It's difficult to find words to explain how amazing our experience in Chamila's place was. We haven't been received as guests, we felt more like a part of the family. Chamila is very hospitable, polite and humble and she, together with the whole family, including Snowy and Scooby, made us feel welcomed, we learned a lot about Sri Lanka, we ate amazing food (!) prepared by her mother and Elena even had a chance to try on one of Chamila's beautiful saris. Not to mention that she helped us to arrange all the trips in the area (and there's much to see - Dambulla is exactly in the middle of the "cultural triangle") and that we received parting gifts which will make us remember the visit when we're back home (we would anyway!). I've been staying in hundreds of places over the years and this is definitely on my personal top three list. If you're reading this, stop looking for different accommodation. You've just found what you wanted and you will never forget this place afterwards.

Janaka , his wife and the little boys are a very welcoming family that hosted us beautifully for 2 days. We loved the food that Nisha cooked for us , it was wholesome and gave us a very authentic taste of Sri Lankan cuisine. The rooms are very close to the samba caves. For our trek to sigiriya lion rock - janaka came to drop us in his tuc tuk at 4am in order to climb it with no sun. Janaka arranged for us a safari ride as well as took us around in tuk tuk in reasonable rates. All in all it was a wonderful stay for my husband and I , and we loved how warm and caring janaka and his wife were!!! Highly recommend this place !

We had an amazing time at Lal‘s homestay! The hospitality of Lal and his family is absolutely great! You can have delicious homemade Sri Lankan Dinner -also the Kids loved it!! If you want to visit the sights of Dembulla, Sigiriya, Pollonaruwa and/or one of the national parks, we highly recommend Dinuka Village. The central location, though the room is quitely away from the main road, super friendly and helpful hosts, and bus stop in front of the place make this an ideal location. Beside the great guesthouse, Habarane itself is not the nicest town.
