We had a lovely stay with friends and family. The property was immaculate and had everything we needed, from all kitchen appliances, extra blankets, and board games. We loved our stay and would stay again. Thank you

We had an amazing 4 nights at the Old Barn. Sharon was extremely hospitable, both before we arrived (sorting out a space for the cot and advising on online shopping) and during our stay. The house looked even better in real life than it did from the photos. We enjoyed walking to the park with our toddler and the house was well equipped with children’s games, books and utensils. The area was beautiful- we had a lovely breakfast at the cafe by the Miners Standard on our last day and the village shop was very well stocked. I recommend a meal at nearby Square and Compass in Darley Dale and if travelling with children the Matlock Farm Park is a great day out. Sharon couldn’t have been a better host, and as previous reviewers have said her lemon cake on arrival was delicious! We recommend Sharon’s place and hope to come back another time!

What an amazing little place, great location, loads of lovely walks nearby. Lucy met us upon arrival and kindly showed us around including some local sites. The place is relatively newly done with great facilities. The en-suites were superb and the bed and the matresses were excellent meaning we all got a great nights sleep after all the walking. We will 100% return. Thanks

We had a wonderful time staying at the Owl Barn. The barn was comfortable and had everything we needed for our staycation. It is a beautiful place inside and out. Jon left lots of information and was on hand when we needed help with the heating. We can’t wait till we can come and stay again!

We were a family party with ages from 5 to 75 . Lots for everyone to do ( swimming , tennis, billiards/snooker & beautiful walks all there) There was enough space both inside the wonderfully converted barn and outside in the extensive grounds to enjoy each others company without being overcrowded. Thanks Sarah for enabling a lovely weekend .

Thank you for a wonderful stay. Beautiful home - as per the photos and listing. It was obvious that a lot of thought and care had gone into the set-up. Everything in the home is high-end with gorgeous beds bedding. Lots of local info provided which makes us want to return to explore more! Dog-friendly and well set-up. A great base for a few days of local commitments. Would highly recommend.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The accommodation provided by Nicky is beautifully appointed and extremely tasteful. Nicky is a wonderful host, leaving us in peace but always on hand should any queries arise. The kitchen was well stocked with breakfast items and Nicky provided lots of information for local pubs and restaurants. I would highly recommend this lovely accommodation to anyone staying in the area.

I can not recommend both The Barn and The Hayloft highly enough. I booked both properties for myself and immediate bridal party for my wedding at Dodford Manor. Both properties were spacious, luxurious, beautifully decorated with everything we could have needed. The perfect space to get ready before the wedding. Janice was really helpful in the run up to our stay, always responding to questions within minutes, she went above any beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. When we met Janice and her gorgeous dogs after arrival she was so welcoming, making us feel right at home. Janice I am so jealous of your beautiful home! We will be back again in the future for sure.

Was perfect for a Valentines getaway! We are so grateful to Sam and Adrian for extending their hospitality, they truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to make sure we had plenty of information about the surrounding area! We have to give our thanks also to William who provided lots of snacks and drinks through his tuck shop :) The barn itself was cosy yet spacious, the bed was super comfortable and water pressure in the shower was decent. The kitchen was fully-equipped for us to make a beef wellington on Valentines night!! Even the temperatures were near freezing - that didn’t stop us from taking full advantage of the fire place out on the patio! Overall we had a wonderful stay and would love to come and stay again! Thank you again Sam, Adrian and William!

Great place! Would recommend. The place is decorated with a lot of taste. The beds are super comfy, clear instructions on how to get there. Clare was an amazing host, she was very proactive with recommendations about local restaurants and places of interest. 10/10 overall.

This feels like our second home & its our second visit, its that special in every way. The barn is so luxurious, you literally want for nothing. The hosts are extremely attentive but in a very discreet way & always on hand should you require them. The views around are beautiful & so very peaceful, its tranquility at its best. We felt so relaxed & private in our outdoor areas & the only people we saw were our family who came over to visit us. We love this place & its definitely our favourite place to stay when we are visiting Bristol for a few days :)

Perfectly designed and superbly decorated tiny home for 2. Everything about this lovely redesignrd barn was perfect. Crick was also a delight to visit.

Wonderful place for some peace and quiet. Easy access to footpaths right from the door. Mel has thought about everything you need for the stay, making self catering a breeze. We thought the map centred on the property was a great touch and the bed was super comfy. Great stay - thanks Mel!

Our stay at Holme Barn was peaceful and perfect. Beautiful surroundings very close to St Antony’s well which was clean and well worth a visit (have a dip!) it’s much bigger in real life. Friendly locals, picturesque scenery right in the middle of the forest. Inside the barn it’s well thought out with touch buttons for lights and surround sound tv next to a cosy fire. The furnishings were wood and wholesome and the bed super comfy too! Bird song and wildlife to spot in the private garden. Take your bikes and have an adventure or Less than 20mins drive to Simmons Yat rock and Puzzle wood Would definitely stay here again thank you Louise

Every little detail in the cottage has been so thoughtfully considered, from the small personal touches to the wonderful recommendations that made our trip even better. The cottage itself is absolutely stunning, full of charm, beautifully maintained and spotless. You can tell how much love and care Emma puts into ensuring her guests have the perfect stay. We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful experience and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a peaceful, cosy getaway. Thank you, Emma we can’t wait to return!

Would highly recommend this accommodation if you are in the Matlock area. The barn was beautifully presented, loved that the “kitchen and sitting room” were upstairs. It meant we could make the most of the stunning views into the valley below, while eating and chilling. Lulu and Ed were super friendly. We had a lovely relaxing time staying here, would definitely come back.

Lovely Barn, immaculate inside, very comfortable with a great wee garden and larger shared area. Very peaceful and lovely rural setting. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.

Very easy to find. Long bumpy farm track but vehicles didn't have any issues. The barn was lovely, private and peaceful with enclosed gardens and hot tub. Very spacious inside with all amenities you would need. The bath was the biggest bath I've ever seen ! Shower and toilet down stairs in a huge utility. Met Lynsey who was superfriendly and very helpful. Booked in at another one of their properties on same site in a few weeks. Lots of places to walk in beautiful surroundings .

Lovely place, easy access, beautiful views. Alll amenities as mentioned and a wonderful selection of breakfast bits along with some milk for the morning. Only minor gripe was with the TV playing up, which we deducted needed a new remote, but we had games with us so it was no drama. Oh, there were games in the cupboard also.
