I have so many great things to say, so to keep it short I'll bullet point. - Great location/community - Private - Friendly and responsive hosts - Clear instructions and tour - Clean and comfortable - Felt very welcomed - Also a bonus of a cat that sounds like a sheep :) Planning to go again, later this year. Would highly recommend

Absolutely incredible place. Very peaceful and scenic and provided with everything we could have needed. Wonderful hosts, would love to stay again.

This is a unique place.. you have to like wild and back to basics.. I stayed in the circus trailer. I wasn’t sure what to expect and was worried at first at the slightly tired appearance. But once the fire was lit, the fairy lights were on it was perfect. The most comfortable bed with the greatest view from it. Tea making facility and somewhere to charge my phone. Toilet and shower block were spotless, the shared kitchen and use of fridge and cookers was great. Fire pit and wood supplied and it was the most amazing dark space. The view of the stars, ISS and starlink were the best I’ve ever seen. I stayed here so I could walk the SWCP and it’s a 15-20 min walk to Polperro from the site so it was perfect. I would stay here again. This is definitely a wild, back to basics place to stay but I loved it. Matt was super helpful and responded quickly to any questions.

Last minute Valentine get away with our two dogs. Despite pretty grim weather, you couldn't have wished to be anywhere cosier. Surprisingly spacious and everything you could think of, provided for a weekend away. Basic breakfast foods provided and of course Juliet's famous delicious short bread and doggie welcome treats.Private garden space adjoining a wood and secure field. Dogs roamed and played freely and safety. Bring lots of dog towels if you expect rain. Lovely shower in the cabin. Very well designed compost in a separate cabin. We kept close for dog exercise but there seems plenty of options for walking.. especially to pub...It's between 40 to 50 minute walk away. So many birds. Great little stay. The only issue we had is the google maps took us down a tiny overgrown lane (we thought this was the entrance at first) which wasn't great for the cars. Googles fault 😅. The stay was great. peaceful just what we needed

We had such a lovely stay in the Shepherd's hut! so peaceful! The outside bath was a real treat as well as the yummy fruitcake waiting for us when we arrived. Bed was super comfy. We were sad to leave. Thank you Be and Richard.

Lovely weekend away. Beautiful Shepard’s hut. Very peaceful and quiet, out of the way for privacy. Beautiful views. The Alpacca’s were an added bonus to our view and stay. They loved being fed apple by us and one of them liked me so much it kept sneezing all over me 😁 Would definitely return 😁

What an absolutely beautiful place. Really managed to disconnect from the outside world. Owners have thought of absolutely everything. Thank you so much! Highly recommended and will be making sure other members of our families take some time off to go here. Could not have asked for more.

My partner and I were desperate to have a relaxing place to stay to get away from our busy work lives and this was the perfect place. Tucked out the way and very private surrounded with beautiful scenery and next to no noise. We loved that it was walking distance to the pub where we enjoyed lunch. The hot tub was a bonus. It had everything we needed. Excellent little shepherds hut, highly recommend. Thank you!

A great place to stay and explore Dartmoor. The views from the hut are amazing and the hut itself is a fun experience. Simon is a delightful host and always quick to help out - Thanks for a fantastic stay!

We’ve now stayed at both of Jan’s shepherds huts and they are both fantastic! It’s the perfect Devon getaway base and is well equipped for having cosy nights cooking in and bbq’ing around the fire pit. Comfy beds and always immaculately cleaned, would highly recommend staying here! The location is great for exploring surrounding beaches and Dartmoor, plus picturesque villages with lovely pubs. Nothing however beats spending nights at the shepherds hut with a bbq, fire pit and taking in the beautiful views!

What can I say, Zena’s place is truly something special! It’s so peaceful and private, it’s got everything you’d need for a relaxing stay. All the added extras from robes, slippers and breakfast in the morning. Even luggage carts are provided in case you have 1 too many bags backed to give ease when transporting baggage. My friend and I really loved our stay, the hot tub was great, the whole stay was truly idyllic. There’s a lake at the bottom of the garden you can take a stroll to, the 3 dogs were so friendly and loveable, they didn’t really leave us for our whole stay. I’d definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a quiet stay to unwind and relax. Tracy and Zena were so lovely and very accommodating. The outside space that is provided is wonderful, the outside fire pit, a bbq and a seating area upon deck too. An absolutely beautiful place to stay, this is my new favourite place and will continue to keep coming back!! Thank you so much ☺️

We spent a fabulous two nights at "Lucy ". The hot tub was great, we were lucky to have one clear night to star gaze. The area is fantastic with the York Inn a short walk away with lovely food. the hut had everything we needed, super cosy . We nearly finished the jigsaw!

Our stay at Nicola’s shepherd's hut was absolutely delightful. The location is idyllic, offering a serene escape where you can fully relax and immerse yourself in nature. The hut was incredibly clean and well-maintained, providing a cozy and comfortable retreat. Nick and her mum were both amazing hosts, ensuring that everything was perfect for our stay. Their hospitality truly made the experience special. I highly recommend this charming shepherd's hut for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy a peaceful getaway.

Well this was our foray into glamping and it was a lovely experience. Tim and Helen are great hosts and are very attentive. After we finally got to grips with the wood fired hot tub we had some lovely relaxing evenings. The surrounding countryside is picturesque, serene with plenty of wildlife to spot and hear. The dining dome is magical at night and is a calm and peaceful place to eat. The pizza oven was great fun and once we had mastered the art of keeping the heat reasonably high, we were soon enjoying the fruits of our labour. This shepherd’s hut is a cosy and warm retreat that was a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives. Thank you Tim and Helen for being such gracious and helpful hosts!

There was a hiccup at the start which was quickly dealt with. Amy was friendly and very helpful. The area is lovely and the neighbours were a joy (2 pigs and a Bull.) Have already passed on your details to someone I know who after seeing our pictures, is intrested in staying. We had a lovely stay and the dogs thoroughly enjoyed themselves too.

Lovely peaceful setting. Great view. Walks straight from the hut. Hot tub was great after a long walk. Loved meeting the goats. Clive was a great host. The app had all the info you would need and was especially helpful when arriving as it contained photos of exactly where you were going which was very helpful as the hut is tucked away down a lovely track access that you would be nervous was the correct one if you didn’t have the directions. Great stay would love to return.

Such a lovely hut for our anniversary. The place itself was so lovely & the owners were incredibly helpful. Such a clean and lovely stay. Would love to have stayed longer and will definitely recommend to a friend!

An amazing spot, truly is a perfect hideaway. The view is spectacular and very quiet and serene with the log burner going. Nice location just off the SW Coastal path and a short walk down the hill into town. Also perfect for dogs with the large garden and walks on the doorstep. Only thing to note is that the living accom is more ‘Airbnb’ whilst the bedroom and bathroom is more ‘glamping’, but that’s clear from the description and photos and we were very happy with it for the price.

I had such a lovely stay at Andrew’s place! The setting is peaceful and secluded, offering total privacy while still feeling completely safe—I’d have no hesitation staying here alone as a woman. The free-roaming chickens were such a charming touch, and the views of the countryside were even more stunning than the photos suggest. Inside, the space had everything I needed, including thoughtful extras like board games that made the evening feel extra cozy. Andrew also provided extensive instructions that made check-in and getting settled a breeze, and he was incredibly quick to respond to any questions. I only stayed for one night, but I wish I could have stayed longer! One small note (not a complaint!) is that there weren’t any outlets, so I couldn’t dry my hair, but Andrew provides a portable charger, which was really helpful. Overall, an amazing stay, and I’d absolutely come back. Highly recommend!

Clare and Luca have created a unique space to unwind in nature. It’s private with plenty of space to enjoy inside and out. It was a special treat having a wood-fired hot tub and pizza oven and all the little details made everything extra enjoyable.

Thank you for a great stay! it is definitely the best stay we have had. It is the perfect set for a gateway to enjoy the birds signing, walks, wood burner with board games & bbq etc. everything you need is provided and it is the most relaxing place, out the way, super private. its exactly like having your own forest. can't wait to go again.

I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for some peaceful, alone time. It is secluded and the surrounding area is breathtaking. The interior is beautiful, and all the little small gifts bring so much joy. The bed is very comfortable and we had such a good night of sleep after the hot tub. All the instructions were clear and we had no questions as everything was ready waiting for us. Thank you! 🌟

I cannot fault this wonderful hut! Its location is brilliant for accessing some of the most spectacular surroundings of the South West coast. Super cosy and spacious, it really had everything we needed and more! Danielle is the perfect host, incredibly friendly and responsive.
