Such a beautiful place to stay. Home is next to the water with a huge wrap around deck. Very spacious interior with all updated appliances. If you are looking for the perfect getaway then you have just found it. Will be back. Thanks Ben!!

My wife Linda and I stayed at Fisherman's Paradise/Freighter Watch September 4-22, 2024. We were there mainly to do fishing in the St. Mary's River and Lake Huron. With on site launch, boat hoist/dock, and fish cleaning it is by far the best rental property we have found in the area. We have stayed on Sugar, Nebbish, and Drummond Island and none of places we have stayed could compare. The area is peaceful and quiet, there is ample wildlife in and around the area, we saw eagles, mink, beaver, and many other bird species. A couple nights around the full moon we heard several coyotes howling. As other reviewers have noted the freighter watching gets to be obsessive(we even saw several cruise ships during our stay). We would recommend that you get on the Boatnerd website. This website has information on all the ships that are seeing. We found the house to be comfortable. The kitchen has pretty much everything that you may need for your meal preparation. Tara and Rob are great host.

Great location to see the area attractions. Beautiful spot on the beach. The house was spacious and clean. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to anyone interested in visiting the area.

Very nice setting. Home was well equipped. Larger than it seemed in pictures, kitchen and living room are open spaces. Nice screen porch sitting area over looking the water. Only about 15 min to mackinaw city

Our family enjoyed our stay. A lot of our time was spent outside. The location is great to enjoy the outdoors whether using the trails or exploring other nearby by attractions it is very easy to explore up north! The deck was a great way to enjoy our outdoor meals and relax in the evening using the hot tub. The yard was huge. Kids were able to run around and explore nature. A lot of our time when we were not exploring up north was spent enjoying the dock and the river. The water is crystal clear. Our kids had fun catching turtles, frogs and fish as they explored the river. Melissa was an excellent host. Every detail was well cared for! Thanks you!

It is the perfect vacation place. This place has direct lake access with scenic peaceful surroundings. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cherished each moment we spent. Barbara's place feels like home with thoughtful attention to details. Especially if you are traveling with a big group or kids, she has provided enough toys and supplies like kitchen/bath towel, coffee etc. Highly recommended Just one thing to mention, the King bed is on a lofted bedroom which does not have four wall enclosure like regular rooms. I think this is a Michigan architecture style and looking carefully at the pictures you can easily figure it out. So something to be careful about for a big group

Wow! What a perfect place for a get away! Kevin’s place is filled with everything a family, group of friends, or couples retreat could offer. Everything is as described with little personal touches that made us feel at home. We will highly recommend to all our friends!

What started as a few days get away turned into the worst ice storm ever in northern Michigan. Power outages everywhere. Thankfully Ed was there at every step. I left early and Ed was great about working out an alternate we were both happy with. Great couple!

This home is a great Northern Michigan cottage that sits on a quiet lake. Between the beautiful sunrise and sunsets, you can hear the classical sounds of Loons echoing off the waters and Osprey fishing from the shore tree line. Located minutes from the town but feel in the middle of the wilderness. Easy day trips to Mackinac Island, Lake Michigan or Lake Huron sandy beaches. We very much enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

The hosts were absolutely amazing and so accommodating! They recommended places to visit and restaurants to check out. We were able to easily dock our boat and utilized their kayaks and sand toys. Ahead of the trip Scott answered any questions I had, allowing us to be prepared for our visit. Having the hosts right next door was no issue either. Overall I highly recommend this place!

The location of this house was perfect for our large family. We were able to bike, hike, kayak and tube with our boat. There was a large yard for the grandkids, with a sandbox and toys available for them to enjoy. The bunk room is great for kids and the other bedrooms are spacious. We loved that the house wasn’t cluttered and that there was space available in the kitchen cupboards to store the food we had brought up. The extra refrigerator in the garage was awesome for our big family.

Cute set of cabins in a row with a big front lawn looking out onto the lake and surrounding hills. The small cabin had everything we needed for a stay with our pets. The beds were comfortable. We even saw two deer bounding through the field in the early morning.

Tom and Kitty were excellent! The island is gorgeous and the beach area is perfect. The water does not get too deep which was wonderful for the kids and my sanity. Perfect spot for a family getaway! They allowed us to use their kayaks, canoe and swimming platform. Tom also put out children at play signs which was such a thoughtful touch. All together an unforgettable family experience. Just lovely!

We had wonderful time and enjoyed this place a lot although we only stayed one night. Kate is a very nice and responsive person. She provide very detail information about the cottages and for sure we will come back sometime in the future or recommend to friends. Thank you, Kate.

Our New Years stay at the Hilton cabin was great! The space was perfect for our families! We enjoyed the layout and the coziness of the woodstoves. The sauna was a great way to relax and unwind, and the lakeside fire pit was the perfect way to enjoy the cool evenings. The home was very clean and tidy upon arrival and was well equipped with all the amenities; would definitely come back again.

We loved it! Eileen is a super host, who made sure our visit was the most comfortable and peaceful as possible. Three Owls Cottage is a very nicely updated cabin. We felt right at home staying there. All the amenities listed were available. The kitchen had absolutely anything you needed to cook a meal from a simple pizza, to steaks and chicken on the grill with a side Cesar Salad. The beds were comfortable . The bathroom was updated with a nice corner shower. All appliances worked flawlessly and the internet was a nice addition. If you are looking for a nice quiet place to relax and wind down this is it! If you want to unplug and spend time with your kids I’d recommend it. Just unplug the router. :). Our stay was perfect! Michelle was very responsive to any questions and the house was comfortable and clean. We will definitely stay there again!

If you are looking for a relaxing place to unplug and relax with great views this is a great spot. It’s remote, but there is a little store for trinkets and items you may have forgotten. Right on the water for fun on the water and views. Cabins are rustic but comfortable. No WiFi and we needed to use Canadian cellular towers, so you will be unplugged…and that’s kinda the point. Definitely plan to come back.

Peaceful area. Great to be right on the river. Wonderful to be able to sit out, and/or grill out, on the front lawn or porch, and watch the big ships. Picnic tables and furniture are provided. Cabins are rustic and cozy. Bedding is provided, and in our opinion, the beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with pots/dishes/silverware. Gas stove. Full size fridge. Good water pressure. Bring your own towels/shampoos, and bath soaps.

We stayed at Pond #8 which was a short drive from the main resort. We didn’t use any of the resort amenities because we enjoyed our cabin so much! The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s the perfect wilderness getaway. The staff at check in/out were very friendly. We will definitely be coming back and staying longer.

Our stay was wonderful! The cabin had everything we needed and more! Rachel was responsive and helpful during communication and a GREAT host! Rachel was very accommodating which allowed for a relaxing stay. The view and cozy cabin allowed for a peaceful getaway! We would definitely stay again!
