The most serene location and beautiful barn to spend a family holiday. The barn is located at a hilltop farm with a few other barn conversions around but felt remarkably private and very quiet. Plenty of room for our family of six and dog. A super boiler room for storage and drying of walking gear and a well equipped kitchen. We will most definitely return.

A lovely stay in a beautiful bungalow that was absolutely pristine, cosy and very comfortable indeed. There was a bottle of wine and some shortbread waiting for us when we arrived! John was friendly and communicated throughout, we didn’t have any issues to ask about but if we had I’m sure we would have got a quick response. The views were wonderful and the area was really quiet and peaceful. We had some nice trips out, Threave Gardens , Moffat and Kippford stood out but the area was lovely with very friendly people. We can’t wait to return!

Booked the camping pod for a few days walking in the Norther Lakes. Ideal location and a comfy cosy Pod with everything you could need . Took advantage of the firepit and loved the view from the deck. Will certainly return and have already recommended the campsite to a friend.

Beautiful accommodation , welcoming hosts and a truly peaceful place to stay. It felt secluded and quiet here. There are a couple of lovely walks from the house and plenty to do in the surrounding area a short car journey away.

The Cheese House was perfect for our needs. Warm, comfortable and peaceful. Zan and Joe were friendly and thoughtful... the eggs were much appreciated. Thank you.

Peace, solitude, beautiful bird song, walks from the gate..what more could you ask for from a few spontaneous days away. Really appreciated the digital detox and loved sitting with the friendly glow of the fire watching Willow on DVD! Old Skool and so cosy and relaxing! A lovely find, set within beautiful countryside,with a real cosiness to welcome you home. And our Dusty dog loved it !

We had an incredible stay at the yurt! Alison and Brent were wonderful hosts – friendly, responsive, and full of great recommendations for local attractions. The yurt itself was exactly as described, providing everything we needed for a perfect getaway. After a day of adventure, relaxing in the hot tub under the stars was the perfect way to unwind. Alison and Brent truly made our holiday unforgettable with their thoughtful touches and hospitality.

So grateful to Susan for hosting us at very short notice. Spent 3 nights here and would have loved to have stayed longer. The house was warm and cosy, the kitchen was well appointed with plenty of utensils etc to cook family meals. The lounge was very comfortable and the bedrooms also comfortable. Hot tub a definite bonus and spent every evening watching the stars. Lovely pub approx a mile away. Could have walked it but weather not ideal, served delicious food. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Natalie was a brilliant host, perfect for what we needed. Staying in the area for a wedding, we had a long journey due to travel and weather. Natalie was very responsive. She provided clean and nice area to stay for 2 nights. The best bit was waking up to the highland cows 😄

Brilliant 4 days staying at the lodge, as previous reviews have already stated I really don’t think the photos do how beautiful the location is justice. We were in the area for a local wedding and if we are ever here again I wouldn’t hesitate to book. Kayaks on the loch were superb, and overall we had a great time. Thanks again.

we found a little gem in this cottage, great location to tour around, found some lovely walks with great views in the surrounding area, the roads are a bit dodgy lots of potholes so drive carefully, the accommodation was well equipped nice little touches like complementary chessboard,procecco, fresh eggs, tea coffee & condiments, we missed a freezer compartment in the fridge but managed for a few days break, the bed was comphy the shower was lovely and the hot tub was great with amazing views in a private garden for our dogs to run freely, there was little treats left for them aswell, ide definitely recommend the stables

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at little Peru. Our hosts were super helpful and communication was great. From the moment we pulled in and were greeted by our new fluffy friends - we felt at home and comfortable. The setting is beautiful, quiet, easy to find, it was delightful. Super cozy especially at the end of an evening when it’s chilly outside - so warm and cozy! We loved waking up to the alpacas and sheep and watching them was so much fun. The sheep brothers little fights were fun to watch and made us all laugh. The snacks made available to feed them is brilliant. We drove down to the kitchen coos and ewes experience (around an hrs away) and that was a great experience - highly recommend! They’re super knowledgeable and great guides. We also visited the Galloway Forest Park to try the dark skies one night and that was amazing - so many stars! We will be recommending Little Peru to everyone! Would absolutely visit again! Thank you so much! ☺️

Previous comments too good to be true? NOT a bit of it! From start to finish (and including the amazing weather) this was a delightful 3 day break in the best of locations and the most comfortable accommodation. Sitting outside for breakfast and evening meal in April? That's a first. Stargazing. Wow! Superb walks (and golf). Easy parking. The friendliest of hosts. We'll be back. Many thanks.

We had a lovely stay here as a family with 2 young children and 2 dogs. The pictures don’t do the place justice - it’s bigger and fresher than it looks on the photos. It was a great distance from Keswick and other walks in the Lake District. We would definitely stay again! Only thing to note was that as the living area is upstairs that the floorboards can be noisy below so if you have those going to bed at different times then they’d need to use the other bedrooms but this wasn’t an issue for us!

What a delightful place! Squeaky clean, very well appointed modern kitchen and bathroom, packed with everything you could need, including toiletries in the bathroom (bath and shower) - and milk, bread, orange juice, cereals, etc in the kitchen. There’s even an air fryer. AND oh joy! A small bottle of fizz, and tasty little cupcakes! Thank you Marj for a lovely, comfortable home from home - and for greeting me so warmly.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Laal Cwtch and it didn’t disappoint. Fleur and John always go above and beyond to make you feel welcome with a friendly message and treats! The home is very comfortable and warm and we love staying here. Thank you again for a wonderful weekend and we hope to see you again soon.

Delighted with our stay - the house was beautifully decorated and in a picturesque setting. The hot tub was amazing. The only minor issue was there wasn’t clear instructions as to how to enter the property - it was unclear that you needed to unlock the French doors. Also a slightly later checkout time eg 11am would be ideal. All in all a fabulous place though.

An absolutely lovely cosy cottage in beautiful and quiet surroundings. The cottage is only a short drive from great walks around the Lake District. The bath is spectacular and was perfect after a long day up Scafell pike!

We had a fantastic stay at Lindsay’s cottage! Comfy beds, hot shower and lots of space. The location was very remote but beautiful, with some great walks within a short drive away. Would highly recommend

A really lovely little place to stay. Highly recommended if you're planning a trip to the area. We were only there for a night, but we could see ourselves staying for longer. Nice and warm. Shower was excellent. Lovely host!

We were met at the door by Prit, who gave us a warm welcome, clear instructions and a freshly baked loaf of bread! We felt extremely well looked after by our hosts, who were very friendly; the cottage was beautiful, very private and in an amazing location. We already miss it and hope to return soon!
