Gorgeous stay at The old School house. The house had everything we needed for a girls weekend to chill. The place was very clean and Elizabeth was very responsive to any queries or needs we had. Thank you so much, would love to come back.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Laal Cwtch and it didn’t disappoint. Fleur and John always go above and beyond to make you feel welcome with a friendly message and treats! The home is very comfortable and warm and we love staying here. Thank you again for a wonderful weekend and we hope to see you again soon.

House was great very spacious for our group and provided everything we needed. Margaret even welcomed us to bring our dogs 😊

We stayed at the cottage for two nights and didn’t want to leave. Absolutely loved it. Amazing spot outside of Dumfries. Perfect base to explore the Dumfries snd Galloway and further afield. We’re already planning our next stay. Highly recommend.

We had a great time staying. Carolines house is lovely and had everything we needed for a long weekend. Throughout our stay there was a problem with hot tub which was out of Caroline's hands but she made sure to compensate with a meal on her which was very much appreciated. Lots of lovely little touches and gifts around the house. Would definitely come back and see this place in the warmer weather thanks for having us.

amazing stay! we stayed as a group of friends and had a lovely time at Elisabeth’s home. It was a super cute, warm and cosy house, which was very clean and had lovely decor. It was very easy to find, we travelled by train and bus. would definitely recommend and stay again, thank you!

Alan's place is ideal for a couple. so close to the shops. 10min walk to lake. comfortable bed. two settees to lounge. would definitely stay again

I had a truly great time! There was such a lovely box of treats and cereals in the kitchen as a gift when I arrived, which was incredibly helpful on my first day, as I didn’t want to go grocery shopping after travel. Alison met me at the train and walked me over, showed me everything I needed to know, and happily came back when I had confusion or questions. An absolute delight of a host! She even drove me to work at Vindolanda on my first day (as I was a visiting researcher) and pointed out the public footpaths for me— above and beyond! My only comment would be that the washer/dryer are listed as in-unit, but they are in a shed area detached outside. It’s very, very easy to access, though! I would also add that it might be helpful for the unit to add a few minor things in the kitchen like a colander— I was making quite a bit of pasta and it was a little tricky to drain it, but didn’t have enough reason to purchase one. Thank you again!

Decided on a lady minute trip to The Lakes and found this little gem. Perfect for the two of us for 4 nights. Great walks, great pub, lovely local shop. Comfy and well equipped for self catering.

We had the most amazing time. The apartment was fantastic, well equipped. The pool was lovely and a massive hit with my 8 year old. We had lovely meals at the on site restaurant and the staff were lovely. The grounds of whitbarrow are honestly lovely. It definitely exceeded our expectations. Great location for activities, we visited Rookin Activity Centre and did horse riding and quad biking, which was great. We will be back

what a lovely place in a really beautiful tranquil location. lots of walks from the doorstep........into Innerleithen and Walkerburn. very clean with everything you could need. Dogs loved the outdoor space and direct access to the River Tweed. will be back for sure. thankyou x

The place was very clean and very close to Keswick town. It was comfortable and overall very good. We just didn’t realise the bedroom is within the open space and not separated by the wall/ door as the pictures are not very clear to show that but it didn’t affect our stay as much.

We had a lovely few nights away at Steve’s place and had everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing break. The flat is within close walking distance to Keswick town centre and we always managed to find parking on the street outside. We couldn’t fault anything at all and Steve was very friendly and helpful both before and during our stay. Many thanks!

Beautiful apartment. Was greeted and warmly welcomed. All the essentials were left for us in the kitchen including bread, butter, milk and even bottle of Prosecco to accompany us in the luxurious hot-tub. Worth the stay if you are visiting the area!

The apartment was lovely, it had everything we needed and more, it was very cosy and the surrounding area is beautiful. All of the instructions for arrival were so helpful and clear. The building is split in two with a guest house and self catering apartments, it seemed like there were quite a few people staying there but you wouldn’t have known, it was very quiet. The gardens are nice, again split in two, so half are for the self catering apartments and half for the guest house. Grasmere is such a lovely village, very small and walkable but even so the apartment is in the most central location with everything very close by.

lovely, clean flat with everything you need. host had great communication, very helpful. the hot tub is huge! brilliant for the price. the only thing I would say is that you are very aware of the level of noise you make when in hot tub considering how residential the surroundings are, but it wasn't a negative in any way for us. it is a four in a block flat, and we heard nothing at all from neighbours. it's very handy for local shops, can easily get food deliveries. all round a great weekend.

Talk about going an extra mile, Alison does that and many more. It is a real ‘Home from Home’ experience- Alison puts so much effort into making your stay stress free. I stayed there 28th February 2025 for three nights. Myself, my daughter and her two very young boys. Alison provided everything we needed to keep them happy, toys, games etc. The apartment is spotless, we had a little issue with the internet connection, texted Alison and she got back to us straight away with the solution. Only a five minute walk to a lovely play park right by the beach, Pirate Pete which has lots for young ones next to the park too. Town Centre with lots of shops, restaurants etc. within walking distance. Alison puts a lot of effort into making your stay perfect, on arrival there was Tea, coffee, bread, butter and much more, so no need to have to pop to the shop straight away. Alison was the perfect host going above and beyond what you’d normally expect. Would definitely stay there again.

Excellent and cosy stay in a comfortable basement flat. Very quiet setting with lovely views from the door and a beautiful quiet garden to utilise. Walking distance to Grasmere and onto the hills. Everything of good quality in the flat and easy to access and park. Highly recommended

Lovely apartment . It is true ….it is immaculate .Decorated really nicely with a very relaxing vibe. Such a sweet town with unique shops and excellent coffee houses and eateries. Will definitely book again.

I’ve stayed here a few times - I’m a regular visitor to Keswick as I’m a keen hill walker. It’s a great little apartment which is very centrally located and has everything you need for a stay in the area.
