Responsive host, friendly and helpful staff. House in excellent condition. Not very far from the city centre, and therefore combination of accessible and quiet. However, not within walking distance so ensure you either have Grab installed or get the number of one of the taxi drivers lingering along the Main Street.

We’ve had a lovely stay at the house, the hosts are very friendly and helpful! The communication is clear and the b&b is realy nice and spacious! True to price and comfort, we even got some welcome drinks! Also it was very nice that they could pick us up from the harbor and bring us to the airport. Even learned some indonesian words. I would definitely recommend to come here and we would love to come back someday!

We had a wonderful stay at Rote White House. The host Sally was very helpful from the very beginning until the end, arranging pick up from the ferry, and car and motorbike hire, and providing local information, etc. Rote White House is a beautiful place, situated in a very peaceful location. We watched the sunset and dazens of stars every night from the house and just outside of the house. It was such a comfortable stay having all the modern convenience plus very helpful and lovely host Sally and entertaining and adorable young hosts Lexi and Tally. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable and restful.

We are enchanted by this quiet and beautiful little villa. Loved the room setting, the spacious bathrooms, the big terrace and all these little things at the furniture and interior: The shell drawer handles, the Bali style kitchen, the French touch in handicrafts and pictures. The beach in the front is big and empty, we had it for our own. We felt at home and special at the same time. Check in with the lovely and helpful Kristina was easy and she was available if we needed something. Definitely recommend it and we'd come back, if we travel in the region again. Fair advice: The beach is 10 km outside of Waingapu and 1.5 km away from the main road. Make sure to have transport to and from the place organized and stock up on food and drinking water, if you don't want to eat at the nearby resort restaurant.

Everything was just perfect and Yohanes is so very helpful! The pickup at the airport was arranged by him which made finding the villa really easy. He and his son welcomed me right at the front door and both of them are so nice! I felt welcomed and like home right away. The villa itself was absolutely perfect! Everything was really clean and I have had everything I needed. The view is so stunning! I loved watching the sunrise in the morning. The access to the private beach is a little adventurous but totally doable if you walk slowly. And the beach with the corals is absolutely gorgeous and worth it! Yohanes and his staff even prepared breakfast for me. Yohanes made me feel like I am a friend and not just a stranger renting his villa. I could always ask him if I had any questions and he was happy to help. The villa is located in such a nice spot of the island because it is very quiet and calm but still very close to the city. This has honestly been the best place I’ve ever stayed at!

We hope to return with our extended family and take both sides of the house while sharing the living space. The sunsets are a dream, and the view from the sofa is incredible.

A peaceful stay with a beautiful view. The dinners prepared by Desi (available for a reasonable additional cost) were so delicious and varied that we ended up requesting them each night of our stay. The air conditioning worked beautifully in the bedrooms and the beds were very comfortable. The living room furniture was also very comfortable and inviting. A wonderful big water bubbler provided bottled water, but without so much plastic waste, which we really appreciated. We were there in the rainy season, and a fan and mosquito coils are made available for the unsealed, non a/c living areas. There was a problem with the upstairs room the first night which the host immediately and generously solved. This is a lovely place to enjoy gracious Indonesian hospitality and beautiful natural environs.

Perfection!! For anyone looking to getaway and immerse themselves in nature, this is the place. Spectacular views, gorgeous sunsets, crystal clear water for snorkeling, monkeys, and much more. Maximilian and his staff embraced us like family friends rather than guests. Tidying the house, laundry, delivering fresh coconut water, organizing scooters, and pointing us in the right direction regarding food, massage, and anything else we needed. Be sure to check out Boa Gardens restaurant owned by Maximilian's mom, Cindy as well. She is delightful and the food she serves is a special treat. If we make it back to Rote, we would most definitely be staying here. Thank you for everything!
