Having arranged to drop off our bags before the 3 pm check-in, we were greeted by Barbara with a warm welcome and beaming smile, we were instantly made to feel at home. Barbara was a charming lady who was very helpful in every way. Her home was pristinely kept with a lovely character. Barbara’s notes right from the outset covered every transport route to the property, she also included a guide for us to walk to the local beach and the infamous Arthur’s Seat. With the property being just a few miles from the city centre (and on the main bus route) it couldn’t have been more perfect. Barbara kindly left us some home made cake and basic provisions for our breakfast which was gratefully received - thank you. Overall, we would rate this experience 5 out of 5 and plan to come and stay again soon. Thank you xxx

This is a lovely, comfortable house, tucked into a gorgeous hillside just a few miles from central Edinburgh. Very quiet area, with surprises just a few minutes walk away - lovely woodland with birds aplenty; a "secret" loch with the most wonderful views across a valley to the Pentland Hills; fabulous frogs fringing the loch while we were there. And all just a few minutes - silent minutes, across the hill - from a main road into the big city. Wonderful, and thank you!

We had a great time staying at Jamie's place on a family trip to Edinburgh, it was very easy to get into the city centre either via bus or walking. The flat was clean, and had lots of features which helped us have a smooth stay, the oven, microwave and Quooker tap were all really easy to use and had all the features you could possibly need! I would recommend it to anyone wanting somewhere to host them when they visit the city.

We had an amazing stay at this Airbnb in Edinburgh! The unit was cozy and clean. The location was perfect - just a half block from the Royal Mile! The host was incredibly welcoming, providing clear intructions. We highly recommend this unit to anyone visiting Edinburgh!

Our family had an amazing stay at the coal house,kid friendly with toys they can play with, very clean and had all the stuff we needed Carla and Alan were great host and fast to answer any questions we had. Would recommend for anyone that has kids Thank you again

We had a lovely stay at Green Cottage. The property was lovely and secluded by trees and in a very quiet area of Edinburgh. Comfortable beds and easy to relax. Very easy to reach city centre with a choice of bus services. We will definitely be back in future!

perfect location for casual walking and visiting the great selection of cafes and bakeries in Stockbridge. The apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay with our baby.

Considering how important this building is historically it’s amazing that they let people stay overnight and cook in there! It’s very peaceful except on two evenings a group led by a reenactor were rather enthusiastic beneath the window! Only lasted ten minutes and it wasn’t later than 8.30pm. The bathroom gets rather chilly after 11pm when the heating goes off! A minor inconvenience and there is a real gas fire in the bedroom!

Skye was a wonderful and communicative host. The house is really cute, in a great location and really good value for money. I can recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

Alison’s place was perfect for our stay in Edinburgh. It was centrally located and as described in the listing with plenty of common space for multiple people.

We had a great time staying at Greg’s place. The apartment is in a perfect location and close to every thing. Greg was very responsive and gave great recommendations. We would stay again.

We had 8 adults staying here for a weekend. Apartment was exactly as described - very spacious with lots of living space and the location is great for a visit to Edinburgh. The two twin bedrooms are pretty tight for two adults but for our purposes it was absolutely fine and the overall space more than made up for a little lack of space in the bedrooms. The two double bedrooms are really spacious and both the kitchen and sitting room provided lots of room. The place was clean and perfectly fine when we arrived. Plenty of towels, pillows and sheets available and the kitchen is well equipped. Would advise having your glasses available when opening the lockbox for the keys as the numbers are quite small (especially at night) - probably more relevant for older guests like us :-) Our group would definitely recommend and would consider re-booking when next in Edinburgh

Lovely stay. Great base for all the places we wanted to visit. (Others have mentioned the stairs so don’t book if this would be an issue for you. It is clearly mentioned in the apartment details though). The apartment was homely and clean, with little added touches (slippers etc) and plenty of information for the areas of interest. The only tiny downside for myself was that there wasn’t a blackout blind or curtains in the main bedroom. Did slightly affect my sleep but that’s a ‘me’ issue as I like my bedroom dark lol. This would not hinder me stopping again in the future as it really was a great place in an ideal location for Castle, Cathedral, Dungeons, Airbus and tram, bus tours, waking tours, surgeons museum etc. Don’t think you could get much better. Would highly recommend. 👍🏻👍🏻😊

We had a great stay in Edinburgh, location is spot on for walking about.. coffee shops, restaurants and shops on the door step! You can hear the noise of traffic on Queen Street but the window shutters helped a little with it, keeping in mind it’s a busy city it’s hard to avoid being so central! We had everything we needed and felt right at home, we would recommend Trudi’s place to anyone needing to be central and walking about the city with no car. We would stay again!

Lovely apartment. clean & just like the description. very close to shops, cafes & restaurants, all within walking distance. Close to train station. The only downside of the apartment was the 4 flights of stairs, which were exhausting to the un-fit. We were aware of this on booking though, but if a lift could be installed then this property would be almost perfect. would definitely recommend a stay.

we have just left Howford house after a lovely 3 night weekend stay to celebrate my husbands 40th. we were a family of 14 adults, 2 children and a newborn baby and we had the most peaceful comfortable stay. the house is fantastic, it has everything you need and the location although super private and peaceful, it was near restaurants, the coop supermarket, Traquair House and land which we got discounted because we were house guests, and lots of walks and hikes. the surrounding acres were stunning with the frost and autumn leaves. we all loved our stay, the kids (and the adults) didn't want to leave. special thanks to Elaine the housekeeper who was brilliant with her communication and help. we will recommend and be back in the future.

Great area for a short stay!

Ferhan and his wife are great hosts. We enjoyed a beautiful family Christmas. They decorated the house and set up the Christmas tree for us. The property is very well taken care of. We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful house in Fife! We were a big group of three families, and the space was perfect for everyone. The house is spacious, well-equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals for our large group, and the dining area was perfect for family dinners. The location was also great – close to local attractions and beautiful coastal walks. The outdoor space was perfect for the kids to play, and the hosts were incredibly responsive and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. We highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable getaway with a large group. We hope to return again!

Great location and it was easy to get to town centre as there is bus stop around the corner. Bedroom was spacious and the bathroom was very clean. Suzanne recommended some great cafes and restaurants
