An absolute gem. Private, cozy, so comfortable. The kitchen and living room are bright and open, perfect for meals and games. It right near the plaza, lovely restaurants, and Cal Poly. Eric and Heather were so friendly and helpful. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

Katie was so knowledgeable on the area, and helped inform us on the area like no other local could! When we first walked into the house the smell of freshly baked bread filled the room. She made us bread to eat! I ate that bread every day I was there. Delicious. The kitchen was clean and had plenty of the amenities/tools a kitchen should have. We cooked every day rather than going out because we enjoyed cooking there so much! The rooms are tidy and comfy. The washer and dryer were a plus! Having the outside patio area was peaceful and nice to have. So close to cal poly and so close to downtown, yet with plenty of privacy. I recommend Katie’s place wholeheartedly!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a few days while we hiked in the redwood forest. It was a clean and modern spot that was near local restaurants, stores, and gas before we set off on our day's adventure!

Jamie’s place was a peaceful place to spend a few days. Although the neighborhood is quite dense for the area it was pindrop quiet day and night. On some nights you could even hear the distant sounds of the ocean waves a few miles away. Recommend.

Beautiful views, very peaceful. We could hear elephant seals from the house and see the surf, could not keep windows open due to cold weather. We were able to get most items at the general store and drive near the surf cafe was dotted with houses close to water. Great weekend. Travel during the day to enjoy the drive amidst tall trees and hair pin bends.

We had a nice stay at Pauline’s home. The living room was perfect for a rainy night to watch a movie and play games. The Hot tub, outdoor fire pit and view off the bluff made for a cozy relaxing evening.

My family and I enjoyed our Christmas vacation. It was a home away from home. I was raised in the same neighborhood, so there was no need for recommendations. We will definitely be back in 2025. Thank you for your hospitality.

Staying at this home was great for our family of six. House was as described and comfortable. I was a little nervous with an older home that all six of us showering in the evening would result in cold showers but we never ran out of hot water!

Colleen's Cottage was a wonderful place to stay. The kitchen was great for all the cooking did over the holidays and the beds are comfortable. Can't wait till the summer to utilize the grill in the backyard. It rained the entire time we were there as it was late December. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy Eureka and Fresh Freeze is only a block away!

Ian’s place is in a beautiful neighborhood near Cal Poly Humboldt. Very comfortable private home. Within walking distance to the Arcata Community Forest is key allowing for breathtaking walks in the redwoods from the home and back. Location is marvelous, also just a short drive to the quaint downtown. The home was cozy, clean and equipped with everything for a nice stay. I would be happy to stay again.

Loved our stay at Shelter Cove, the views were unbeatable and it was also a great night for stargazing. We enjoyed the balcony and the jacuzzi in the living room that looked out into the ocean. Everything was incredible comfortable, we would definitely stay here again.

My stay at 55 EEl, Shelter Cove was truly wonderful. The property was as beautiful as described, and the host was incredibly thoughtful. As a book lover, I really appreciated the high-quality books provided – it was a lovely touch! Planned the stay for a proposal, happy to say, she said YES! Our stay at Cliff House’s Magnificent Room was ideal for a relaxing weekend. Walking to the Black Sand Beach was a pleasant surprise, and the breathtaking views were unforgettable. The fireplace was inviting, but the hot tub was the highlight—soaking under the stars after exploring the Lost Coast was unmatched. Despite concerns about winter storms, the weather was perfect. The well-equipped kitchen made preparing a Thanksgiving meal easy. A truly memorable experience—we can’t wait to return!
