Exactly as pictured, but do keep in mind the 2 upstairs "bedrooms" aren't completely divided by a wall, but rather half a wall and the other half a bamboo divider so you can easily hear the other room. The stairs were quite steep and narrow, so be careful! The location was awesome though, 3 minute walk (if not dragging heavy luggage) from the entrance of Kyoto Station, so extremely convenient! There's a small step to get up to the house, so beware when getting luggage up. Only small comment about the decor - the side with the ?samurai helmet was a bit creepy, but otherwise would recommend!

Kumo Machiya made me feel like I was staying in a house from the Asura show, which is exactly what I wanted. The place is on a quiet street, close to multiple stops for buses that take you to many of the popular sights without transfers, and with a few restaurants, family mart, drug store, and laundry facility nearby. You will need to take a bus to get to any major sights. There is a washing machine but it’s very small and there’s no place to hang dry your clothes. There is a laundromat a couple of blocks away. I think tall people might have a hard time staying here because the ceiling is super low and some of the spaces are small; it was not a problem for us 🙂

We loved our stay - this was the most thoughtfully arranged airbnb we’ve ever stayed at. It had everything we needed, from kitchen supplies to bath products to laundry (including detergent). The instructions were clear and easy to follow and the hosts were incredibly responsive and kind. They truly thought of everything, and we were so grateful. The location is perfect, walking distance to many sights and delicious restaurants. It was so lovely to stay in an authentic and cozy home. Our three children (toddlers and a baby) loved it as well, and the hosts thoughtfully included a high chair, which was greatly appreciated. We would highly recommend this Airbnb.

Really pleased with our stay here. Less than 5 minutes walk to the Kyoto station, so easily accessible to all of Kyoto attractions. Comfortable home with all amenities needed. Hide was very responsive to messages and helped where needed. Would stay here again when in Kyoto next.

It was really close to a train station, about five mins away or less, and multiple convenience stores which helped with snacks after long days. Only thing to note is all three rooms are attached, so to get to the third room you must go through the first and second room. It wasn’t an issue for us but might be for those who want privacy. There was a bright exit sign in the first room which was bothersome the first night but we just covered it with a black shirt the next nights and it was fine. Overall would stay again.

The house is really lovely, we stayed for a week with our toddler and omoide went out of her way to provide for us. she even bought a baby gate before our arrival. The cot was big enough for our 20 month old and she had all other baby essentials. The house has a very simple and Japanese style which we loved and it was easy to get around Kyoto from there. The only downsides are if you have lots of luggage there isn't anywhere to store things and there aren't any hooks which can be annoying with wet towels, also the house doesn't get a huge amount of natural light. Omoide has been clever with the lighting in the house so it doesn't feel dark though. Thanks again

We had a lovely stay at this apartment. It was spacious yet cosy, got plenty of light, had a nice street view, was tastefully furnished and fully equiped (we didn’t cool but the kitchen appeared to be well equipped), and spotlessly clean. It was also very convenient to shops, restaurants and public transport, and was a refreshing break from hotel stays. May was very helpful and welcoming (she was even waiting for us on the street when we arrived!).

1000 characters isn't enough to convey how much I enjoyed my stay with Asami & Daniel. They were endlessly kind and pleasant to deal with, gave tons of recommendations for local places (tons of hidden gems away from tourists), and had all of the time in the world for chatting and listening too. They took the time to give multiple bike tours of the surrounding areas and explain the why that things are done, as opposed to a lot of whats, making each one feel like it's own secluded experience. Daniel was kind enough to ferry my bags to and from the station, taking all of the stress out of finding the location. Without a doubt the few days I've spent staying with them will contain my most treasured memories about my Japan trip. The pictures lay it out perfectly, this is not a hotel, so do not expect one. If you are looking for a more traditional, but also unique and deeper experience from your time in Kyoto, I strongly believe you won't find anything better, or better hosts too.

Nos encantó hospedarnos aquí! Es excelente desde la comodidad de la cama hasta lo bien ubicado que está, es una gran opción para viajeros que buscan hospedajes cortos. Las instrucciones para entrar, salir y separar la basura fueron muy claras y los anfitriones estuvieron siempre en constante comunicación. Agradecemos mucho tener la lavadora y espacio en el balcón para secar la ropa. Definitivamente regresaría.

Tolle Lage des Hauses, sehr zentral. Shops und Restaurants in der Nähe. Bus- und Bahnhaltestelle ebenfalls sehr gut zu erreichen. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und ordentlich. Es gab alles, was man brauchte. Gerne wieder!:)

I was there for 2 nights and found the place to be amazing. It is right next to by metro line which made it convenient to reach all the places we wanted to check out. She was also a gracious host who proactively provided the information and been responsive about the questions. Will recommend.

After spending a few nights in a hotel in Tokyo it was great to stay at May’s property which was spacious and met all our needs. May’s husband met us at the property and gave us clear instructions and recommendations for local dining options. It was a great location within walking distance to shops, restaurants, Nijo Castle and the Nishiki markets. The property had all the amenities advertised and was great to have washing facilities. Thank you for being great hosts!

El Airbnb superó mis expectativas. Estaba impecable, bien ubicado y con todas las comodidades necesarias. El anfitrión fue muy atento y la comunicación excelente. This place is in the perfect location! Close to the beautiful rivers and downtown where there’s lots of good places to eat!

Izumi was a wonderful host . He always responded quickly to my emails and had great suggestions for things to do in Kyoto. My first night there he took me on a tour of the neighborhood and pointed out land marks like the sakagura. Later we did a bicycle tour of Kyoto together visiting shrines like Tofukuji and Sanjusangendo. The staff at the restaurant next to the airbnb were also very helpful and considerate. Izumi made my 3 month stay in Kyoto a memorable one and I hope to keep in contact with him in the event of my return to Japan.

这间民宿让我非常满意，就在一楼出入很方便，但是一点都不潮湿。因为房间地面是抬高的。当我们抵达时候，房主已经非常贴心把暖气提前开了，让我们非常温暖。而且房间里十分干净，超级舒服！ 这房子的地段非常优越，离稻荷大社很近，离Jr线步行只需要两、三分钟。房主也十分友好，为我们提供了十分详细的京都旅游攻略，十分感谢。 非常推荐！希望下次有机会再入住！

Walkable distance to the shopping street. Had trouble finding the place at first but the host was very fast & responsive. We loved the tatami room. It can fit alot of us & it is pretty comfortable.

A small apartment that had everything we needed. The kitchen was well-equipped and we could do laundry on the small balcony. The communication with the host was fantastic - they were super helpful and responsive. The location was perfect, in a quiet area but close to everything. Would definitely recommend and stay here again if we get the chance!

Incredible Airbnb! Seth's place is in the perfect location, near many attractions and restaurants! Right next to the Gion distric and a 10-15 minute walk to the Yasaka Pagoda! There is even a vending machine outside the unit! The unit is very cozy and the beds were probably the most comfortable we've slept on while in Japan! It is very quiet and we slept great! The unit is on the second floor so keep that in mind with luggages. I had no issues bringing our two big bags up! As well Seth is easy to communicate with, check in is easy and he's a great host! Do yourself a favor and rent this place, you won't regret it!

I was traveling with three teens. Everything was perfect. Lots of room. Loved the bathtub. Near a train station. The place is an authentic home. This is easy to reach for traveling and exploring but this is not into the middle of everything. It’s a bit away from central Kyoto. Bus is about 20minutes. We loved it
