Yukiko is such a wonderful host. My partner and I have had a great time in her beautiful townhome. It was peaceful and had everything that we needed. I highly recommend that someone who doesn’t want a typical hostel/hotel experience to come here!!!

The duplex was perfect for 6 of us . It is located on a quiet street close to the Shinkansen side of Kyoto Station. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well-stocked and so clean. It has 2 toilets which is not clear in the description and is definitely a selling point for 6 people. Great for a family.

Located next to the beautiful Toji Temple, Shunsukes place was perfect for a short stay in Kyoto. Well connected to the city centre and walking distance to a selection of great restaurants. The home is traditional, very authentic and welcoming.

Katsura club is an experience of Kyoto and Japan on its own. Our host Koichi is very warm, welcoming, and kind, he speaks little English but that didn’t hinder his communication skills. He gave us a tour of the house and taught us the history behind Katsura Club and it’s very educational. He’s very thorough and detailed with teaching us how to use the amenities around the house. A little story: It’s our first time in Kyoto Station and we got lost trying to find the lockers we put our luggages in and so we left it there prior to checking in. Koichi noticed that we didn’t have anything with us and asked where our stuff was, and after telling him what had happened, he offered to drop us off at the station. This just shows how attentive, hospitable and accommodating of a host he is. He even wanted to wait until we got our stuff and drop us back at Katsura club but we politely declined. As much as I’d love to keep this gem all to myself, it truly deserves to be experienced by others.

Lo único que no pude usar fue la regadera, salía muy poca agua o no la supe usar, tuve que usar la tina siempre. Y no tiene secadora por lo que secar la ropa por el clima frío tomo un par de días.

Akane's place was perfect for our group of 6. The apartment is flexible for different combinations of people in the 3 bedrooms. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Akane always responded right away whenever we needed instructions on anything in the apartment. Her English is very good and she is very friendly. We had a great time!

We were in kyoto for few days and Ume was an excellent and very friendly host. We really enjoyed the traditional japanese setting home. if we had more PTOs, we would love to come back and spend longer time there!

Excellent logement à 10min à pieds de la gare. Quartier très calme et grande maison.J’ai particulièrement apprécié la salle de bain traditionnelle. Je relouerai sans hésiter!

Fantastic stay, thanks for having us!

Unit was spotless clean and very comfortable. Absolutely loved the heated floors and big steam shower! Was about a 2 minute walk to the local bus stop, and a 8 minute walk to the main train station. Host was very friendly and communicated very quick. Had a great stay and would highly recommended!

Exactly what we needed after the last few weeks in hotels. It made us feel like we were locals for that moment. Everything is 10mins walk away and you’re close to the river for those sunrise/ sunset walks.

The house is a small gem, decorated with so much taste, very pretty and peaceful. It’s very close to the train railway but the noise is okay. I was so happy coming back after a day of wandering in the city. The place comes with lots of amenities, like great soap, tea and coffee which I really enjoyed. The only negative thing is that the futon beds are quite thin. It was a very enjoyable stay overall ~

Mr. Tanaka and his family were wonderful hosts. He met us when we arrived to introduce us to the house and show us where to find everything we’d need. The space was exceptionally clean and well cared for. They’ve clearly put a lot of thought and care into creating a beautiful home that honors the traditional domestic spaces of Kyoto. There were even little cookies, coffee, and hand-selected tea on the table for us to enjoy. The space was comfortable and peaceful. The toilet and sink room are very small but clean and sufficient, and we loved the separate shower / bathing room. The house is a short walk from major Arashiyama attractions and the train stations (15-min train ride from Kyoto station) with several cafes and restaurants in between, as well as a Lawson combini. We would absolutely recommend this space and host to anyone traveling to Kyoto.

I highly recommend Leo’s home. It’s located in an awesome neighborhood very close to Umeda. Despite its proximity to Osaka station the neighborhood is quiet and had a ton of cute shops and restaurants. The home was clean, spacious and perfect for our family of four. I highly recommend Leo’s home.

Fantastic location. Great base to explore Osaka. Room was exactly as advertised and clean. You can hear the cars driving on the street though - just bring some earplugs. Otherwise no complaints!

We have enjoyed our stay very much. Our host was wonderful. Even dropping an iron in when needed. Highly recommend. Thank you for having us.

Beautiful house on quiet street that is accessed by walking a short distance on a narrow street. The house was thoughtfully decorated and had a wonderful atmosphere. You walk 5-10 minutes and you’re in the busy district of narrow streets and temples. When you get home to the house it is very quiet and tranquil. It was a nice place to call home and rest before venturing back out into the busy streets of Kyoto. It was roughly $10 USD to get from Kyoto train station to the house via cab. The cab driver can’t take you all of the way to the house, so you have to walk 2 mins with your bags to the door. The house is backed up against a freeway overpass. While not ideal aesthetically it didn’t bother us in any way. The house feels very private and quiet. We would stay here again without hesitation.
