We had a lovely stay with our 3 dogs at heron view, we enjoyed the spacious living area and comfortable beds. The utility space was a great nook for the dogs if they were wet from walking. Lovely local pub (the Masonic) with friendly people and bar staff. The hot tub was a massive bonus! Thanks Donald We will be back!

We had a weekend lovely stay in the cottage. It was very clean and cosy with a completely fenced in back garden with a hot tub. Lovely walks around and a shop within walking distance. Jane was very responsive when we had questions, which was highly appreciated. Would absolutely come back and highly recommend!

Such a magical place so peaceful and well looked after couldn’t have asked for anything better me and my partner and 2 kids really enjoyed our long weekend there will definitely be coming back

Lovely place. Accurate pictures, though when you get there it feels even nicer than photos can show. Very friendly and responsive. Sometimes it can be quite a vulnerable experience travelling as an LGBTQIA+ couple, but here we felt welcome and safe. Hope to visit again with friends and family.

This was stunning, the cottage looks exactly like the photos. Immaculate and finished to a really high standard. Kitchen facilities were excellent. Wood burner was perfect as it was cold during our stay. Great location for local walks, restaurants and supermarket. Great meal at the local pub. Hot tub was a delight after some long walks in the hills. Couldn't fault it, Catherine was a fantastic host!

we found a little gem in this cottage, great location to tour around, found some lovely walks with great views in the surrounding area, the roads are a bit dodgy lots of potholes so drive carefully, the accommodation was well equipped nice little touches like complementary chessboard,procecco, fresh eggs, tea coffee & condiments, we missed a freezer compartment in the fridge but managed for a few days break, the bed was comphy the shower was lovely and the hot tub was great with amazing views in a private garden for our dogs to run freely, there was little treats left for them aswell, ide definitely recommend the stables

The coach house was perfect for our family group of 10 adults. The sitting room and dining area was a lovely space to relax and dine in. We loved the wood burning stove which gives out such a good heat. The whole house was warm and cosy during a cold February weekend. Bed linen and towels were good quality and we enjoyed tasting local produce from the hamper. The drive in was further than we had expected but it’s a lovely private and peaceful location. The hot tub was a welcome addition although it did take a long time ( plus lots of logs) to get up to temperature. I would recommend the Coach House for a large party or gathering - we all enjoyed our stay!

For what our group wanted it was perfect not a bad word to say about the place, perfect or group weekend away in the country side just what a place!

Loved my stay at this beautiful cottage. Such a spacious, homely cottage with an amazing big enclosed garden for the dog. I’ll definitely be back!

An absolutely lovely cosy cottage in beautiful and quiet surroundings. The cottage is only a short drive from great walks around the Lake District. The bath is spectacular and was perfect after a long day up Scafell pike!

A lovely cottage which was kitted out with everything you need. Lovely garden with stunning views. Nic the host was always very quick to respond to any questions. Lots of lovely beaches for walking the dog a short drive away. I did find Wigtown a little quieter than expected but appreciate I visited out of season. Would be happy to go back

Dove Cottage is a beautiful and lovely place. It has plenty of character and is finished to a high standard. The whole place feels friendly and relaxing and there is everything you need. I would recommend this place to anyone.

We had a fantastic stay at Lindsay’s cottage! Comfy beds, hot shower and lots of space. The location was very remote but beautiful, with some great walks within a short drive away. Would highly recommend

Laura was an amazing host, her communication was top notch and she helped me multiple times throughout our stay with queries and recommendations. The property has a car park and two pubs on its street so was a perfect location. (Although can get a little noisy). She kindly decorated the bedroom for my anniversary and that touch was lovely. The spa was absolutely gorgeous and you save about £40 each by using Laura’s passes. Recommend to everyone ❤️ such a cosy cottage and wonderful host

We hugely enjoyed our stay at 2 Calgow Cottages. Everything we needed for a very comfortable stay had been provided. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the complimentary wine and biscuits were a nice surprise! Bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and light, and the whole cottage was clean and beautifully decorated. A good selection of information and leaflets about the area were provided, the cottage is perfectly situated for exploring a large surrounding area, but there's also plenty of interest right on the doorstep. Access to the woods from the back garden was a treat, and the dark sky in the village made for excellent star gazing! Thank you very much Phillip and Graeme for an excellent holiday- we will be back!

We had a wonderful week staying in Spa cottage. Well situated for walking and visiting local areas. Wonderful pub in village was a bonus, as was thecottageinthewood, restaurant/hotel at the top of the hill. Beautiful views and we were spoilt with great weather. Would definitely return.

We had a wonderful short stay at Corlae Cottage. The cottage is well decorated and well-equipped in a peaceful and scenic location and was perfect for our short visit. We could have stayed longer and there was more than enough room for a family to visit. Thank you for an amazing stay, and for all your help!

My son and I stayed at the cottage for 4 nights whilst we went to watch the Open golf at Troon. It was a lovely, peaceful location to return home to, to relax after long days walking round the golf course. The cottage is well equipped and situated in the beautiful grounds of Cloncaird Castle - stunning.

Excellent modern cottage on the outskirts of Gatehouse of Fleet, in the hills up to Galloway forest. A great retreat for quietness and to get away from it all. The hosts are excellent, this being on a farm it was nice to see the animals. Would love to be back someday. Enjoyed having 7 days of sun sitting on that patio.

The house was warm and comfortable with everything we needed. We appreciated the Christmas tree and decorations which made it feel especially welcoming. It is in a scenic and peaceful area with some interesting places to explore nearby. The conservatory and garden would make it an ideal place to visit in the summer. We would certainly recommend this property.

Lovely stay… a very warm and welcoming place with good amenities… close enough to Keswick to be accessible (by car) but far enough away from the madding crowds… The location is lovely and the ducks in the stream quite charming. We kept a roaring fire going in the ample lounge and weee cosy as could be on a typical rainy windy Lake District night. Lovely friendly helpful hosts too… would definitely go again

Great hosts and location. Perfect accommodation with everything we required. The ability to utilise Netflix and Prime is a bonus. Brendan and Rhona even had hot coffee and fresh scones and local delicacies waiting for us, with milk and orange juice in the fridge, which is a lovely and welcome gesture. The only thing that we found a let down was the hardness of the bed, which for us was uncomfortable. But that wouldn’t stop us staying again, we’d just take something to make it acceptable to us. We did struggle to find something to eat locally, both pubs/hotel were unable to accommodate us and all the local takeaway/restaurants are cash only, which was a problem when the towns cash machines are not working, (no reflection on the accommodation) Would we recommend this to a friend… most definitely, without hesitation.
