Prachtig verblijf, zeer avontuurlijk en van het gebaande pad. Geweldige omgeving om te hiken en te fietsen. De langzame boot erheen is al een avontuur an sich! Thu Ha is enorm goed bereikbaar, helpt je met alles, is vriendelijk en regelt de dingen goed en eerlijk voor je. Mai is een geweldige harde werker en kan geweldig koken. Transparante communicatie kan beter. Je betaalt bijvoorbeeld voor de elektrische auto die je van en naar de boot brengt, maar je komt hier pas achter als je af rekent. Mai spreekt geen Engels en haar man ook niet, deze kosten staan nergens vermeld. Daarnaast is Mai vooral bezig met haar taken en biedt haar gasten niets te drinken aan, je moet overal zelf om vragen als je wat nodig hebt. Niet erg, maar het kan warmer. Dat zou net dat beetje extra geven aan deze geweldige locatie. Bed was niet erg comfortabel, maar dat past bij het gehele plaatje en de kampeer ervaring, dus dat is oké. Lekker warme douche! En een klamboe 👌🏻 aanrader!

Wonderful host! Amazing communication, we booked 50mins before arriving and were welcomed in person and upgraded! Total welcome surprise after a day travelling. The area somewhat resembled an abandoned city, with half finished construction projects and hardly a person in sight, strangely the lights were on in what seemed like a beach resort, again with no one around. For us we actually enjoyed the surreal almost apocalyptic like emptiness of this place. Again, the accomodation was just outstanding! We felt like royalty 😊

Viet was very nice and chill host! The accomodation was clean and airy and we slept well~ The swimming is clean and beautiful! definitely recommend! the island is small and very good for you to turn off and relax~ Viet also helped us with trip to Halong Bay, which can be arranged frm port 10 minutes from the airbnb. You should go! thank you for everything

The Ancient House was spectacular. Definitely a highlight of our family trip in Vietnam. We were tucked away in the mountains and had a great time relaxing and exploring the National Park. Mai's cooking was also divine. Thu Ha was excellent in communicating directions to reach the accommodation and she was so patient and helpful with arranging transfers to and from the village. Thank you so much! We all hope to be back one day.

Anfitriona muy amable y encantadora. Fácilmente accesible. La casa es como en las fotos. Muy amplia y agradable. Lo único malo es que está lejos de todo, incluso para tomar un café por la mañana. Es verdad que un grab cuesta 1,3 euros a la marina, donde hay más vida, pero hay que saber que no tienes nada cerca para ir. La nevera tenía cervezas y cocacolas y agua (gran detalle) y había té para hacer así como algo de comida. La casa es cómoda hasta para 6 personas.

I just spent a lovely three days at Ancient House and I concur with all the others – – this is a magical, full sensory, unforgettable experience. It’s definitely rustic yet at the same time very chic, comfy and clean. It was so special to experience the history, the serenity, the beauty and everything else that everyone else mentions. And the host was unbelievably helpful. I was definitely on the needy side as I was a solo traveler who didn’t speak the language and she always responded quickly and with helpful instructions, arranging transportation and tours for me. Her housekeeper Mei cooked delicious meals and was very helpful. It was walkable into town in the morning for coffee and such. It was also a treat for hikers hiking the national Park to periodically stumble upon the property in disbelief at what they were seeing and be able to share a beer with them and stories of our travels. It was definitely tricky to get to, but so worth it.

We really enjoyed our stay. Everyone here was so kind and helpful. We were able to rent a moped to get around with. Our host called for it and had it delivered it right to us. Anything we needed was promptly attended to. If you prefer to be surrounded by nature instead of people and noise this is the place for you. With the moped rental we were still easily able to access any place on the island. We were very pleased with our stay. I would recommend a stay here.
