We loved using the pool and the patio/grill area. The view and the landscaping are beautiful. The owner was helpful and responsive; she supplied firewood and charcoal. Plenty of dining space both indoors and out. Good A/C.

A wonderful stay in a serene and picturesque setting! The house studio was exactly as described—spotlessly clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. We especially loved the peaceful, neighbor-free surroundings, which made for a truly relaxing experience. Alton was a fantastic host—warm, attentive, and available. We wholeheartedly recommend this place and will return.

This home is so charming, dripping in history, tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you need. It feels so off the beaten path but Charlottesville is within easy reach. You feel a real sense of peacefulness and calm here, and Virginia is a very responsive host.

The Dawn Trader was a magical oasis in the middle of the mountains. Our family, including our one and 4-year-old, had a wonderful time relaxing, exploring the property. It was a tight space for two adults and two busy little ones but we had a wonderful time and we're mostly enjoying time outside anyway. Definitely try out the food products from the farm and if you have kids, I recommend the adventure backpack.

We had a lovely second stay at Wildwood! Accommodated two families with several kiddos easily and comfortably. Space is private with beautiful views of mountains and near a number of wineries and interesting things to do (one day we visited Monticello and another day we drove into Charlottesville, for example). Super cozy inside with tons of places outside for kids to run around. Great experience all around.

Ruthann is responsive and lovely. Her place was clean and the property is beautiful. She gives you space if you desire so you can enjoy the place. There were little snacks out that were helpful and the kitchen had everything you need. What a lovely and serene spot!

Sarah and her husband are very kind and share their home with care. My husband and I had a very comfortable stay. The $20/person a breakfast sounds like a lot but it was well worth it! Sarah and her husband made one of the best breakfasts we have ever had AND it is a LOT of fresh, organic food, definitely worth it. We didn’t even have to eat lunch that day. The space is great for people wanting privacy or wanting to say hello to their guest visitor. Would highly recommend to anyone and would go again. The internet is weak, but you don’t go to the mountains for the internet haha. Just recommend downloading offline maps and if you need to video chat, Elkton has good signal. Loved going to Shenandoah. Perfect anniversary stay!

Our stay at the yurt at Cair Paravel was full of lovely mountain whimsy. The little touches put into designing and decorating are absolutely perfect. We so enjoyed the beautiful grounds and the sunrises are unmatched (highly suggest sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee to enjoy them: you will get to hear the farm coming alive as well). The host is incredibly responsive and friendly and troubleshoots quickly and efficiently. We hit the nearby Entry Run Trails and we were able to walk there straight from the yurt for a solid hiking adventure. We adored our stay and plan to return again 😊

We loved our stay at Sarah and Kyle’s place. Although during much of our time it was rainy and cold, we were cozy and dry in the tent. We found good hikes in the area and enjoyed a local winery and cidery. It was a great place for a weekend getaway.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Willie’s Place! Patti was a great host, she stayed in touch and made sure we knew she was close by if we needed anything. The location was perfect, very quiet and within close driving of all of our points of interest. Orange itself is a wonderful town, plenty to see and do. The house was great for a week stay, perhaps the most comfortable Airbnb bed we’ve ever used. Patti provided very easy instructions for accessing the house and everything was clean and ready for our stay. We highly recommended staying here and will definitely stay again if we come back to the area.

This location was definitely off the beaten path, but that’s what we wanted for our mom’s weekend. Joy gave us some great information and instructions a few days before we arrived which made everything very smooth upon arrival. We were able to purchase fire for the fire pit, which was very convenient and made for a fun evening outside. The kitchen had everything we needed to make the meals we planned, including trays and serving dishes. While our stay was several adults, this would have been a very family friendly location. Every window had a lovely wooded view. I definitely recommend this location.

Such a wonderful lil home. I would most definitely come again. So peaceful and homey. Out from civilization, but not too far if wanting to go shopping. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. One of the best homes that I have been to

We loved Dawn and Damond's Bungalow! We stayed here for a long weekend of hiking and visiting wineries. It's super clean and spacious, with all the amenities you could need, from beautiful outdoor spaces and coffee in the kitchen, to lots of towels in the bathrooms and cozy blankets in the living room. As a renovated 1930s house, it gives both modern living and rural farmhouse. The property is gorgeous, with beautiful views of the mountains on all sides. Although it's in a rural valley, there are restaurants and shops in Crozet and Waynesboro a short drive away. We can't wait to return.

What a beautiful rental! The decor was amazing! Such an eclectic and unique space! The home was very clean! We loved the big jacuzzi bath! The views were amazing! We had been to Luray many times before and love it so much, we actually stayed at the rental the entire stay and enjoyed relaxing, the hot tub, the beautiful views, making a dinner at the rental, the counter top ice maker was a nice added touch as I am obsessed with good ice. Each room had so much character and you can tell so much thought and work went into designing the space. The chandeliers were gorgeous! Some of the rooms were clean, airy and beautiful while others were dark and moody and was a fun transition from hanging out in one room to another. I would love to stay at this rental again sometime! The host was delightful and great at communication and checked in with us multiple times to see if we needed anything. Thank you for sharing your beautiful space with us!

Jefferson Cottage is a very cozy, private space near the main house on the property. The pool itself was closed for the season, but the hot tub was still open. Both had a fantastic view of the surrounding landscape. We were a little nervous about finding our way from the road up to the cottage, but everything was well marked. We had a wonderful visit and would definitely stay here again!

The views are spectacular, I will be dreaming about the sunrise view for years. It was the perfect place to bring in the new year. Hugh was very helpful with recommendations for hikes and information about the area. Highly recommended for a secluded mountain stay.

We had a large group at the compound by the swinging bridge for New Years and it was absolutely ideal! We played games by the fire place, cooked delicious meals, relaxed in the sauna and hot tub, danced and watched movies in the game room, laughed around the fire pits, played frisbee in the lawn, and watched an incredible double rainbow over the river after a thunderstorm. The beds were very comfortable and the vibe was cozy and lived in. Taki was great to communicate with and we’re very thankful to him and his family for creating such a sanctuary. We definitely hope to return!

The house was beautiful, not a lot of things in the house which I like it was tastefully decorated. Beautiful scenery. Woke up to 4 horses surrounding the house they were super friendly. My only complaint is I think the light switches in the house need to be labeled. There are several and we had to flip through all of them to figure out which ones did what. Also for almost $1000 for two nights stay that’s a bit high, if I wasn’t looking for something close to my daughters venue for her wedding I would probably have stayed elsewhere. Besides that if the price is lower I would go back.

I had an absolutely amazing stay. Kelly was amazing awesome host, the location was beautiful, and the space was clean and had everything you could ask for. All of her sweet ani.als were the icing on the cake. I highly recommend stating here.

My wife and I wanted a quite getaway and visit some surrounding areas nearby. This beautiful log cabin allowed us to do just that. Smokey the barn cat is very friendly and will greet you anytime that you are outside, it was also a joy to watch the horses and deer. Thank you so much.

The place was as described, clean and comfortable. The place is an old farm house with low ceilings. There’s a creek in front that my kids (and their cousins who we were there to visit) loved playing in (even though it was cold😁). Out back are goats, that are very obviously used to being fed by the renters—they come running when they hear people. My family had a blast and the location is pretty convenient to lots of things.
